  1. Slash is iconic, I get it. Abilities don't necessarily make icons. That's because Guns had multiple leads. They do today as well, and did back in the day as well. Izzy and Fortus play lead some of the time.
  2. I'd be excited for that. Nickelback does have a few catchy tunes too.
  3. Except for Paul Tobias, Richard Fortus, Robin Finck, Buckethead, Bumblefoot, and DJ Ashba
  4. Yes. Here's a thought, would you rather see Guns N' Roses without Axl and with Slash, or with Axl and without Slash?
  5. Yes, that is correct. I wish they had released the full version of that track. The live performance part of it didn't sound good at all. It has long been rumored the rerecorded AFD is out there. Some (can't recall who) claim to have it. For me, it would be a neat curiosity. But I value it less than actual "new" or even older mixed of released/leaked tracks with Axl vocals. (Seven, Berlin, Zodiac, Soul Monster (Buckethead), The General (Buckethead) etc.) Aside from a bonus/anniversary release of CD, our best bet of hearing the Robin and Buckethead CD mixes would be another large leak, much like the Village leaks, but of material from 2001-2004 if we are lucky (pre-Bumblefoot), but I'd take the latter stuff too, as I'd imagine the material Bumblefoot played on still has a bulk of Robin/Bucket material, much like the 2008 album did.
  6. Who wouldn't want to see Guns with Bucket at a small venue? That would be an amazing, unforgettable experience!
  7. I wonder if some of the Axl vocals from AFD from '99 (or whatever) was used for the Live Era release.
  8. I would love it if a Silkworms version exists without the long intro and has all of Buckethead's parts, and the full lyrics we initially heard live.
  9. Absurd is fun, when I'm in the mood for it. It's enjoyable live too. I actually like Slash's work on it too.
  10. Well, they are opinions. I agree that Riad is one of the weaker songs (especially the 2008 album version), but This I Love is my personal top two CD songs, next to Better. I also love If The World, as a fun song and a great mix, and Scraped is also fun for me, Axl's vocal delivery is incredible on that song. The intro is strange though. I think CD suffered from over-production and some mixing issues, and poor timing on release. The Andy Wallace mixes of the tracks with full Buckethead leads would be my idea version of the album, and had it come out pre 2004, I think it would have been timed better.
  11. It would be really interesting to hear Slash and Duff's real take on the current stand of the band. I feel like it's more of a brand/business than a band, and has been for years.
  12. Slash leaving wouldn't be good, of course. The band could, and probably would survive. It would likely be how it was 2011-2014, playing arenas and the like. It would be interesting to know what they would do with unreleased songs that Slash reworked, if he left. Restore Bucket and Robin's parts, and keep Duff? Who knows. I'm sure they would call Buckethead to see if he would want to return, which was rumored to occur a lot back in those days before NITL. I doubt he or Bumblefoot would ever come back. Doubtful on DJ Ashba too, as much as folks like him.
  13. Well to be fair, we have yet to hear many of the songs intended for CD2, in complete or even in instrumental form for some tracks. I do agree The General, Absurd, and even Perhaps are less complex than a lot of what was on CD, but CD2 as a whole, we don't have enough material to be conclusive on the complexity. But as of yet, we have not heard anything like TWAT or Prostitute. Even Monsters isn't that complex and is fairly repedative, Hard Skool too.
  14. They could have released CD2 as it was in 2014, toured it with NITL and no casual would know or care.
  15. My assumption is it would be like the 2008 album, where Bumblefoot plays a handful of solos, and has bits throughout the songs. I believe a lot of what Bucket and Robin did was intact then.
  16. Not certain on Buckethead. My guess would be most songs had him on in some form. We know The General, Soul Monster, and Seven existed at least in instrumental form in 2002. As that is when Marco Beltrami worked on them, if I recall correctly. My guess is vocals were laid down around the same time Axl recorded vocals for Sorry and Scraped, as they sound similar. (Much like how Catcher and Atlas sound like they were recorded around the same time) That wouldn't be a first for Guns, so it's par for the course. (UYI comes to mind)
  17. I believe you are wrong. From the Village leaks, they finished Sorry, Better, and Shackler's Revenge with vocals. Scraped must of came from later sessions, or happened to not be included with what leaked (The Village leaks do not include ALL of the material Guns had at the time). I strongly believe more songs were worked on/finished from this period, and beyond. (More than The General and Monsters)
  18. I believe CD2, as it was prior to NITL was of the same quality overall as the 2008 album. It is my opinion the NITL mixes took them down a notch or two.
  19. Great points. By now, I'd imagine they have complete versions of Zodiac and Quick song as well, and Berlin/Oklahoma.
  20. 0. Monsters 1. Perhaps 2. Hard Skool (This would be 1 if they used a mix similar to the 2000 version) 3. The General 4. Absurd
