Not bad for a Monday! Do you know what would make it better? I do. How about CD2, pre Bumblefoot? Maybe some day! I'd be cool with a Bumblefoot CD2 as well, as Bucket would still be on a majority of it, much like the 2008 album.

Killing Floor - Slash feat. Brian Johnson
Sweersa replied to Free Bird's topic in GUNS N' ROSES - DISCUSSION & NEWS
Killing Floor wasn't bad. I'm digging the longer track lengths. -
Probably. Yes, some of the life of the songs was sucked away from the 2000-2003 (or whatever) demos to the 2008 final mixes. Now, it's even worse with the CD2 stuff, as a lot of it is from the same period as the 2008 album, and on top of already being bloated and overproduced by 2008, the NITL re-working and shit production adds an even more fucked element to them.

No doubt! I've heard pregnancy from rape is rare, but not sure on the stats. I happen to know a woman who was the result of a rape. I went to school with her. Her father was the rapist. I don't know of her father's relationship to her mother (the victim) then, could have been random. I can't imagine how difficult that was. My understanding is my friend had some struggles growing up, but is doing well and I believe she has a family now.

I'm really sorry that happened to you. and your child. I hope the assailant was brought to justice. (He deserves far worse, of course) I'm friends with a woman who was attacked by a man who attempted to rape her. She was able to fight him off, but he got away and raped other women before he was ultimately caught. Fucking savages need to be put down like rabid animals.

I couldn't agree more! It is further saddening that his work on the follow-up album has not been realized officially, save for a few seconds in Perhaps, but that's a different story. I'm still holding out hope we get to hear the older mixes of "newer" songs with Robin and Buckethead on them, whether by leaks or ideally, in some official box set as bonus content.

Spaghetti Incident Promo Can Question
Sweersa replied to williambailey01's topic in MEMORABILIA TRADING
Pictures would be great! Imagine if the can contents is a pre-Bumblefoot CD2 from an alt timeline. -
I know the feeling! Josh's drums on the Hardschool demo were incredible. I imagined there were mixes with Brain on drums that sounded nice too. The production really killed the drums. Sounds almost like a drum machine. Even Frank's playing is better, so I think they really processed Brain and/or Frank's drums on the official version. Axl's vocals also seemed off on the final version.

I thought I heard everything from Axl
Sweersa replied to fabrph5's topic in GUNS N' ROSES - DISCUSSION & NEWS
I liked Axl on Sebastian Bach’s Angel Down from 2007. He’s on three tracks, including a cover of Back In The Saddle. Stuck Inside has some great Axl moments. Love Is A Bitchslap is probably the weakest of the three Axl tracks on that album. The album itself is worth a listen. I own a copy on compact disc digital audio. -
Even back in the CD-era, I preferred Bucket's playing to Bumblefoot. I feel the Bucket and Robin mixes of songs we have NITL lineup versions of are better overall because their playing and parts fit the songs better because they wrote the songs and were part of the initial creative process of them, and that makes sense because Slash is adding guitars to 20 year old songs. It's probably not even possible to get them to sound right. And the poor production doesn't make it any better. So far, I think Slash's best work is on Absurd. His solos seem to elevate that song from the leak with Bumblefoot and likely Bucket as well.

A behind the scenes documentary of the making of Chinese Democracy spanning the different lineups of that era would be amazing, especially if bundled with various different versions of the albums, CD2 and CD3 songs, etc. I don't think it would sell very well, but the hard cores would appreciate it for sure. They would need to release it after they are done with the slow drip of singles, for obvious reasons.

I understand your point, but let’s say if the next album was 12-14 songs, it could easily contain a mix of new songs, reworked CD songs, and unchanged CD songs. If it’s mixed and mastered properly, most casual fans are never going to know Robin played on X, Slash on Y, Bucket on Z, etc. Plus it would make things easier and cheaper to not have to record more and remix. I’m not saying the above is likely to happen, but it could. I don’t think the more than half of CD2 that hasn’t been officially released will be abandoned. The real question is what form is will take. Hopefully, we get the original mixes with the older lineups as some sort of bonus or anniversary release if they are not just put out as is.
