  1. 2012 - Detroit 2011 - Chicago 2021 - Detroit 2016 - Detroit The best show I have ever seen was 2016 Axl/DC in The Palace of Auburn Hills.
  2. Shoot, I hadn't thought about the drums. So if they actually write and record new material, it will probably have Frank on drums. Could they call in Brain?
  3. Yeah, it's certainly an interesting thought. I believe the last time the band had any creative output of new material was the Bucket/Robin era. We have yet to be shown that not to be the case.
  4. If NITL actually writes and records new material, the Bucket and/or Finck argument wouldn't be valid, because those members were not involved in those songs. It's only a valid point for a CD-era re-worked tune, of course.
  5. I remember when Bumblefoot was playing that song, it was more than just an instrumental, it had some vocal melodies. This was before it was recorded and released. I wish GN'R recorded it, the raw version Bumble played was pretty good. I wasn't too fond of the final product, but I bet if Axl was on it and wrote most of the lyrics, it would be a pretty good Guns song for CD3 or whatever.
  6. The dripfed process is near agonizing. I suppose it could be worse. The closest thing we had to the 2008 album was the 2019 leaks. I wonder how many, if any of these singles will even end up on an album or some sort of bastardized complication. Almost all of the songs are not mixed in a fashion that are suitable for an album, at least not together without being remixed and remastered. It's a damn shame we never got CD2. I hope, by some act of God or a fan crazier/more connected than me, we get it all leaked as it was in 2010 or whatever. I think that would be closure for a lot of people. The 2004-2014 CD2, remix album, and re-recorded AFD. That's what we need.
  7. I understand and can appreciate some vocal distortion, when used appropriately. (Like in Perhaps, on one line, which is also present in the 2000 mix) but for The General, it makes the lyrics in places unintelligible. I only understand most of the song now, despite no official lyrics being published, based on unofficial lyrics and discussions here on what Ax is singing. Makes production on 1999 Oh My God seem good. I wonder how much better the 2010 (or whatever) mixes were of these songs were from a production standpoint. I would imagine better based on the 2008 album vs reheated leftovers of NITL.
  8. I wonder if this video will get a Blu-ray release. Just kidding! Don't want to give them any ideas.
  9. No, it seems a majority of us dislike the video, including me.
  10. Yes but I think it was better as Soul Monster with Buckethead.
  11. The video would have been better with less or ideally no AI and the inclusion of Buckethead in some of the shots as it would have been fitting, especially if they restored some of his leads for the video.
  12. It was worse than I expected, and I had low expectations. The song that could have benefitted most from a lyric video, doesn't get one. Bummer. At least Fernando isn't in it!
  13. The lead guitar that Voodoochild wonderfully recreated, I swear on the 2010 leak, where it's hard to hear anything, that guitar bit starts again after the screaming Axl bridge. So I think that may not actually be a solo, but the main guitar lead of the song.
  14. I really believe the structure of the song was changed from the 2010 version to the Monsters that leaked. You can hear the "oooo oooo" Axl sounds fairly clearly in the 2010 party recording. In the 2023 Monsters leak those are backing vocals. You can also hear amazing guitars that are missing from the 2023 leak as well. I can play it in my head near perfectly. Wish I could play it IRL to share how it goes.
  15. I think 2000 Hardschool is one of the better songs they have, and would fit CD as far as quality goes. 2021 Hard Skool, I honestly don't want that on any album. They butchered that song into a C tier tune. I think Perhaps and Hardschool from the CD era would have fit CD, Atlas too, though I find Atlas to be a weaker song. I think the CD era Monsters / Soul Monster would have been pretty good as well. Zodiac 13 could be the Better of CD2 if they have a nice vocal track to it.
  16. I believe the CD-era mixes of CD2 songs would largely be superior to what we are getting officially. One example that can be realized is 2000 Hardschool (which was labeled as a rough mix) vs the 2021 officially released Hard Skool. Perhaps 2000 vs Perhaps 2023 is more interesting, as I like almost everything about the official release except most of Slash's solo. I wish they had Slash record a second solo to Robin's like with CD and TWAT, or better blended them.
  17. How wild would it be if Me & My Elvis is named Soul Monster and Monsters is it's own song.
  18. I agree. Overall I like Monsters a lot more over The General. Aside from poor production on both songs (especially The General), my main gripe with Monsters (aside from it not being a CD-era mix with Buckethead, of course) is the chorus seems to occur too quickly in the song. In other words, I wish the verses were a little longer. It almost feels rushed. But, that's me being nitpicky and probably comes from me expecting Soul Monster was a longer song that it actually was. I wonder if they have any longer songs (~6 minutes or longer) left in the can. Like the Sorry, Prostitute or There Was A Time of CD2 from a song length standpoint. Most, if not all the CD2 stuff we got (leaked or released) with vocals are around 4 minutes.
  19. Velvet Revolver and Slash's 2010 solo album had some cool music videos. The VR video where Matt was lip syncing to Scott's vocals in a bit was cringe though.
  20. I didn't notice any clipping in Perhaps. I would be surprised if Bob Ludwig would tolerate such a shit mix with clipping before he masters it, but I could be wrong.
  21. If they do a compilation album of all the singles, or whatever I hope they at least remaster them to sound better next to one another. So far Perhaps seems to be the only one suitably mixed for an album.
