It was perfect 3yrs ago. 3yrs later, same tour, same songs, same order... guess you can say that's fine, but most bands change the set each leg. Do you really want the audience that has seen the show 1, maybe 2 or more times already to know what songs you're going to play and what order they are coming at? No, no band wants that, but that's exactly what GNR are doing.
There's great songs in the set, but it's far too bloated. I've seen the NITL set live twice, and both times it dragged hard in the middle. The pacing isn't good, starts great, ends great, middle is far too much noodling and breaks of the action. Even Heavens door is a drag live now.
I tend to agree, however you and I know what to expect. I’m wondering what it would feel like as a casual fan who is seeing it for the first time.

You got us a little bit worried about this one. What do you think about the recent leaks?
I’ve only heard one that was still on YouTube when I went searching for it. I hear the terminator song is true though. Haven’t been keeping up much with the forum lately. Like a lot of fans, I’ve taken for granted that the band is actively touring again because I’m still starved for new music to somehow make up from all of the wasted years of inactivity.

I'm still here and am looking forward to the upcoming GNR shows. See you in Louisville and New Orleans.

Nice to see you round these parts again.
Fuck thats generous.
Thank you. I was considering changing my user name to Richard Marxxx. I participate when I can but have less time these days to get involved. I'm disappointed that GN'R were less active during the years when I had no kids and less career responsibilities. Cheers.

I think covers are way more likely than brand new, NITL-era songs. A new album would probably be mostly CD-era songs, maybe some re-worked stuff from the mid-90s, and maybe Wichita Lineman and/or The Seeker.
But it depends on how much music they're trying to get out, Slash has said he wants to do an 'album/tour/album/tour' cycle, it wouldn't be the worst idea to just get 10 re-worked CD-era songs out there, and work on new stuff while touring those songs. Then they can release the NITL songs 'same bat time, same bat channel'.
They could continuously fart in a microphone for 80 minutes for all I care and I would buy it. Just please.... NO FUCKING WICHITA LINEMAN OR THE SEEKER!!!

Thanks for the insight.
If I had a home studio for 27 years, I hope that I could make more than 3 albums!

Long time so hear, good to see you back. The original post just said "Axl's Malibu studio" so I'm not sure if they meant his house or not.
Hi Russ. I'm coming out of hibernation. It's been a long winter. I don't think Axl has one of those either. I think they would record in a legit studio with a large staff of engineers, techs, etc if they were going to give this a serious go.

Hello everyone. It's been awhile. Have we established that Axl has a proper studio at his house? It's only 4,000 sq ft, and doesn't seem large enough. Maybe it was a jam sesh out by the pool. On the other hand, if Tommy Stinson can record an album in his hotel room, I'm sure Axl can clear out the garage and hang some eggshell foam or whatever.

It's possible I'm wrong but I think he might be one of the lucky few that made it relatively unscathed. I just feel we'd have heard about it by now, he's lived there decades and it's a well known house so I think had it burned down it would have been reported.
Friends of mine who live on his road lost their house but I didn’t think they were up for me questioning them about Axl’s house, and they probably don’t know for sure anyway. They found out that their home burned down because someone sent them an arial photo of the area, but I couldn’t tell if Axl’s house made it in the photo or not. They posted it on Facebook. The arrow is their house and was taken on Sunday afternoon.

I would agree that perhaps the entire AFD album could have been a shot to the Reagan era of the 80’s but again others could interpret it however they want. I’m not going to “Virtue Signal” my thoughts and pretend we could all do a little better in our rhetoric of right vs left and just a few short years ago Axl stated on Jimmy Kimmel that he has never even voted, and all of a sudden a big city billionaire from Queens, New York is a man that the United States must “resist.”
Make no mistake, Donald J. Trump is a Democrat in Republican clothes. Just a few short years ago, most of the policies Trump chants for were all found on a Democratic platform. He’s the first president in the history of the United States that’s openly pro gay marriage but I’m suppose to pretend, I’m supposed to pretend that he’s the next coming of Hitler, and blacks are getting shot in massive numbers for for just being black, women are having their rights taken away, and every immigrant is living in tyranny and fear of being sent back to wherever they came from.
Gimme a fucking break.
I’m not the biggest Trump fan in the world but How many times can you cry wolf before I run out of fucks to give? I’m out.
What’s really happening here is that we elected the guy who doesn’t need the media or the political establishment to make things happen and it scares people who depend on politics as a career. It’s weird to see so many people believing this fake hysteria peddled by the media and career politicians.

You could be correct in your assumption. Slash stated in his book that for Axl to keep his Malibu mansion he would need to extend the UYI tour.
The Zillow real estate app says the approx value of Axl’s home is $6.2 million and that he paid $3.6 million for it in 1992. Looks like he pays $60,000 annually in property taxes. Living in California isn’t cheap. I have a friend who lives near Axl, same road. She and her husband have a little farm house with chickens and shit in the yard. That little home is worth $1,600,000.

To me it’s the addition of the piano sounds, breakdown, and civil war. I see where Axl was coming from.

Axl is a very intelligent and private man. I'm sure he realizes that although his Twitter is his account and not GnR, people have a hard time making that distinction so he wisely seldom tweets and is mostly sharing a headline and single thought. I would love to see him go head to head with Tucker Carlson on Fox News. I think Axl could likely do to Tucker what Tucker does to his guest.
Not a chance! Tucker is brilliant and lives politics just like Slash lives with a guitar in his hand. Shut up and sing... no politics!

Nice quote but time isn’t on their side. If they’re serious, the side projects will cease and they’ll get to work soon. I would love to see this band live with a current album that people actually listen to before going to the show, while Axl still sounds halfway decent. I know it doesn’t happen with the legacy acts these days, but I feel that a lot of people would give a partially reunited GNR album or at least a few released tracks a chance.

On 8/14/2018 at 9:00 PM, Blackstar said:This soundcheck story is questionable, despite of what Alan Niven said.
The whole thing started as a rumour, when a member here posted that a friend/acquaintance of his was at the hotel with the band in Nashville and she saw Izzy there. According to her, Izzy looked grumpy, annoyed at Adler (who played at that show) and talked only to Duff. She didn't say anything about soundcheck, and other members who were outside the venue during soundcheck said they heard Steven but nothing about Izzy. It's all in the 2016 Nashville show thread.
Then a few months or more later, Niven told this story on Appetite for Distortion, that Izzy had flown "somewhere in the Midwest" and even did soundcheck with the band, but something went wrong.
Later, he confirmed to @Gambit83 that the story took place at the Nashville show. On a second interview, he mentioned that the story was on the forums before he brought it up.
However, no one else confirms this story.
In fact, Steven told a fan in Australia that he hasn't talked to Izzy in person since 2008 (they've only been texting/talking on the phone, he said). Steven was in Nashville, so how could Izzy have been there?
Moreover, Anthony Bozza (co-writer of Slash's book) was backstage before and after the Nashville show and he said on the GNR Central podcast that he didn't hear anything about Izzy.
Hello everyone. I spent time with people associated with the band at the Loews Vanderbilt Hotel in Nashville on the Sunday morning after the show. At no time did anyone discuss Izzy almost participating in the show. I didn't see him around the hotel. I personally don't believe he every took the stage for soundcheck. He may have been invited, but I saw no evidence that he was in town.

Bold prediction - a one time AFD5 reunion show, playing the album in it's entirety, on August 6th - 30 years to the day Appetite hit #1.
I like it. Adler better shut the fuck up and keep his family quiet or something this cool might not happen.

I love Motley but feel they were like Kiss in that they leaned on gimmicks and a flashy live show more than good song writing. Despite having not-so-good lyrics, I think they are all great players. I love Mick Mars and have always liked Tommy's drumming. They'll probably eventually get into the Rock N' Roll Hall of Fame after the elitist Rolling Stone class is no longer involved.
Like everyone else here, I'm a Guns N' Roses guy so to me, they're better.

What about Duff?
Who knows? I hope he makes another Loaded album. I like his music. At this point, I would like to go see him perform in a House of Blues somewhere with his band and play a bunch of songs that I don't know rather than go to another show on this tour. I'm cynical though since I've seen several. All a fan like me needs to do to understand how awesome this tour has been is look down the row or behind me and watch some guy or girl losing their mind when the opening riff of Welcome to the Jungle comes on.

I’m going to the show. Is there really no opening act? Sitting at some old school Italian restaurant Mario’s waiting on our food. Sorry to ask. Been out of the game for awhile.
