  1. I started posting as Outtagetme on the old message board and had quite a few posts over the years but was never really that hardcore. I ended up getting banned for some reason a couple years ago. I think I said something nice about MSL or I announced that I was going to do a "drive-by" on the HTGTH website and post a link that their guy Jarmo didnt want his followers to know about. Then the next thing I knew, I was no longer allowed to post.

My favorite moment on this board was when me and two other forum members went to see the supposed return of Axl at some pice of shit barn club in Cartersville, GA. Axl and the band weren't there but we had a good time and reported it back to everyone here who made a big deal about the rumor. It was all over the radio and there were people that thought something was actually going o happen. I took a pic of that place and people on here went hysterical. It had a wagon on the roof. Anyway, teh club owner was standing at the entrance with a copy of the contract. Apparently, he had been scammed or had scammed a bunch of people into showing up. His never-busy "club" took advantage of the big crowd and had a camera crew on-hand to film a commercial for the bar. Oh, and there was also an ACDC cover band too.

I also thought it was cool that in 2006, the band used this forum to make sure us, the real fans, received the presale password so we could all get tickets to the Hammerstein Ballroom shows in New York. Then we went to a pre-party at this bar called Mustang Harry's a couple blocks from Madison Square Garden. My non-forum member friends made fun of me bc everyone at the pre-party was talking forum business and asking each other what their screen name was. Great memories. I hate my name now.... or at least I did until I read Steven Adler's book and he talks about Eddie Money at the MTV Rock N' Jock game.

This place has been great over the years. I still come here and look around 2 times a day.

  2. [

    Excactly.

Any cracker with a brain would not change a password, like so many dummy's on here suggest.

    You get caught that way.

There is more to this story.

Sorry but you can't say that. Only WE can call each other crackers.

You can say 'cracka' if you like, but not 'cracker'. eg: "Hey Cracka, pass the Sunchips."

I understand that you have white friends, but it's still not cool...

Yes indeed. And if you're singing any songs that use the word cracka in them, you must replace the word with something that sounds similar but the meaning is different. And finally, if you bring any of them hoes up in here, you make sure that I fuck 'em first....

  3. I responded and I never do that. It's lengthy but I was providing an education to the people who've made the uninformed cheap-shot comments.

"Axl Rose was and still is one of the most-talented rock frontmen of all-time. I've followed his career since the late-80's and have been fortunate to see him perform 9 times since 2006, several years since many of you saw him give a week performance on the 2002 MTV Music Awards, which seemed to cement many people's image of what Axl Rose supposedly is now. They take the typical cheap shots - botox, braids, fat, can't sing, etc but often times, those who make such criticisms have not heard his new material, nor have they seen him perform live since. I find this quite irritating.

I've seen Axl perform as recently as January and February when I flew to Canada to be a part of 4 packed-house arena appearances. Each performance was far and away better than what you'll get from other newer acts or from other bands still touring from that era (or earlier). For a 48-year old guy, Axl's in great shape. His voice sounds nearly as good as it did in the early-90's and I don't care what you call the new band, they're awesome musicians and play well together! How many bands can you name that are touring today have all of the original members? I can't name many. Chinese Democracy could never have lived up to the hype, no matter how good it was. If you actually listen to it though, you'll find several great songs that really showcase Axl's talent for creating good music. It's complex and difficult for the casual listener to zone-in on at times, but if you give it a chance, I bet you'll learn to appreciate it for what it is and is not. Almost every song on this album comes complete with several movements or songs within the song...much like a complex piece written for a large orchestra. If you try to listen to Chinese Democracy with the expectation that it should sound like Appetite for Destruction, you'll be let down. Should we expect a guy in his 40's to write material about prostitutes, drugs, and partying in Hollywood? I certainly do not. Instead, I love this album because its like watching a big production Las Vegas cirque du soleil show - Each time I listen, I hear something new. This is difficult to do with many of the newer bands that exist today whose music is often too predictable and lacks real musicianship.

Speaking of predictability - I like Axl because he, himself is so UNpredictable. I don't like waiting until midnight to see my favorite artist perform when I have other responsibilities but I know what I am buying when I choose to go to one of his concerts. If you don't like it, go watch Nickelback or someone equally as lame. The man is unapologetically flawed and like many of us, has overcome a great deal in life to earn the success that he has had.

Like many people, I would like to have seen him reunite and have more great years with Duff, Slash, and Izzy, but like marriages and other relationships, people grow apart. Go see The Eagles these days. What about Van Halen and DLR? They all dislike each other tremendously but seem to go on tour anyway to make money. I would rather see Axl, Slash, Duff, and Izzy playing together because they want to not because they need a few big paychecks.

Finally, since we're on MSNBC's site, consider the Guns N' Roses name controversy to be similar to the far right's opposition to gay marriage. It's not a great analogy, but many of you will agree that gay marriage is harmless to your hetero marriage. It doesn't affect your relationship to the person you're married to at all so you might not mind calling a gay union "marriage". Axl and this band using the name does not endanger the legacy that the Appetite/ Use Yor Illusion band created together. It doesn't ruin your music collection at all and you didn't even invent the name "Guns N' Roses". Axl did, and should be able to use it as he see's fit. It certainly has had no effect on his ability to retain millions of fans and play to large audiences in Canada, South America, Asia, and Europe.

If you disagree with me on all of these points or still feel like trashing Axl, hopefully we can agree on other topics like Appetite for Destruction should go down as one of the greatest rock masterpieces of all time. What about Slash's new solo album? I think it's fantastic...and I don't mind his touring band singing old Guns N' Roses songs either."

  4. Whoever's there take some pictures of the biker babes and post here too!!!!!

I can't wait to see pics from this. I'm picturing some photos that look sort of like that movie with Cher, Sam Elliott, Eric Stoltz etc "Mask".

  5. This song was awesome in Edmonton and solidified my friends' realization that Axl still has it and writes magical shit. they enjoyed the show but when he performed this, their jaws dropped.

I think that he just needs to be smart about where he performs it in the set list. There's no way he can pull it off if he sings it immediately after he runs back and fourth across the stage singing You Could Be Mine or something like that. I definitely think he needs to come out and do it immediately following a solo, even if it does put him at risk of putting some less dedicated fans to sleep.

  6. Bucket was talented but it was almost like he was a guest player.

Guest player indeed! He even had his own T-Shirt on sale at the merchandise counter and kind of stood off on his own. His nunchuck show was odd too. I don't go to rock concerts to watch Martial Arts exhibits. The gimmick that was Buckhead sure did bring attention to the band though. Still today, when I proudly tell people that I'm going to see Guns N' Roses play live, 9 out of 10 people say "Who's in the band? Is Buckhead going to be there?"

I'm happy with the current line-up.

  7. I saw Doc the Minneapolis airport on the way home from the Edmonton and Calgary concerts in January. He went to watch them but that's because he's managing Sebastian Bach, I think. Perhaps they struck a deal there or had something tentative worked out but never signed. I met him while in the Chile's Too bar. I immediately recognized him and said hello.

  8. Great news for the Central American fans! Wouldn't be surprised if a couple Mexican shows get tagged on the end of this.

I would be. It looks like they are hitting Puerto Rico as they ship their equipment to Europe for the Summer. Hopefully, Mexico and the US will happen late summer/ early fall.

  9. I'm not sure that Axl's always riding separately from the band. I bet they flew together from Brazilia to Rio. I know when they left Halifax the morning after the concert, most of the guys were on a Continental Airlines flight booked for California but they flew throught Newark. Tommy went to Philadelphia and Ron and Frank went home. As far as I know, Axl & family was on the same flight with the other band members because they all went through security/ US customs in Halifax at the same time as me. I boarded a Delta flight for Boston and they all went to Newark.

I imagine that a couple of these guys have never been to brazil (I think DJ stated that he had not been to Brazil before on here). I bet they were interested in arriving early to check-out the sites. Axl has been many times and seemed to be having a blast in New York. I imagine that he's just taking his time and is enjoying life at his own pace.

  10. I know it's off topic but I'll be in Atlanta next weekend, any good shows going on then? Lol probably not knowing luck!

Maybe not your thing but Gordon Lightfoot is playing at the Symphony Hall at the Woodruff Arts Center. Since you're a forum member and Guns fan, perhaps you might be interested in checking out Metalsome Karaoke at a bar on North Highland Ave. called "Ten High". You may have done something like this before, but you sing with a live band and they play all hard rock/ metal songs. The band is really good and they usually draw a great crowd on Friday and Saturday nights. We go there about once a month. If you're in Buckhead, there's a band that's playing at East Andrews Upstairs on Friday night called the "Yacht Rock Revue" the hottest girls in the city will be there and the they are awesome. They play all late-70's early 80's AM Gold style music- Hall & Oats, Steeley Dan, shit like that. Go to youtube and check them out.

Have a good time while you're here.

  11. In Atlanta, we have the Gwinnett Center, Phillips Arena, The Tabernacle (Alice In Chains played there last night) and the Georgia Dome. Take your pick, Axl!! :D

I heard that Axl won't play here because of some incident that occurred during the band's first visit here where Axl kicked a police officer or something. Do you know anything about this? I went to see Alice in Chains last night at the Tabernacle. If any of you are looking for something that still rocks, go check them out. Mike Inez and the new Lenny Kravitz-looking singer fit in well. I just bought the new album.

I wish GNR would play here though. I had to travel to 4 Canadian cities (well, three cities and one shitty town- moncton, nb) to see the band this year. I don't make as much as Axl and this travel gets expensive.

    Actually, I found this: http://books.google.com/books?id=2NmZXj1MqqMC&pg=PA202&lpg=PA202&dq=Axl+Rose+Police+OFficer+Atlanta&source=bl&ots=K_3QsTzM_-&sig=rbajTk1JOLePLMHbdM73IYyA4AM&hl=en&ei=hY2JS5aMGcGttgeW67noBA&sa=X&oi=book_result&ct=result&resnum=6&ved=0CBMQ6AEwBQ#v=onepage&q=&f=false

According to this book, which most of us think is shit, Axl was arrested on-stage in Atlanta for assaulting a security guard when Guns played Atlanta in '88 with Motley Crue.

  13. Funny. I saw Doc McGhee in the Chili's Bar at the Minneapolis Airport on my way home from the Calgary and Edmonton shows. Like a loser fan, I walked up to him and introduced myself as a huge fans of many of the bands that he's managed over the years. I told him that I just returned from the Guns N' Roses shows in Calgary and Edmonton. He shook my hand and asked me how I enjoyed them and said that he just came from Edmonton himself. I told him that Axl and the band sounded great and I was excited about seeing two more stops on the tour. Then he said pardon me, nice to meet you and started talking again to someone else. I then realized that he had an iphone / ipod ear bud in his ear and I had interrupted a phone conversation.

At any rate, it was cool to meet him and I knew that he was at least at the Calgary show because Sebastian Bach is apparently managed by him because he said something from the stage like "Doc Fucking McGhee, my manager, is with us tonight!!! We're going to do this next song for him".

So I guess they were up in Calgary and Edmonton talking business and Doc went to make sure that Axl could still bring it. I'm sure he was impressed cause he saw the same two shows I did.

  14. Ha! No they had to celebrate Del James' birthday. Actually, most of the guys had a 10am pick-up time from the hotel to get to the airport (which is 15 minutes from now). I'm sure they're ready to get back home to New Jersey, California, or wherever. They've been riding around in a bus and sleeping in hotel rooms all month. They stayed at the Marriott Harbourside here in Halifax.

The show was awesome! It looked pretty much sold out. We had side stage seats instead of the floor, which was fine with me. We had a floor experience in Moncton, Calgary, and Edmonton and the floor was much more packed tonight than the other places we saw him. He sang his ass off and the band sounded really good. He was probably at his best during Knockin' On Heaven's Door. I wish they would have played This I Love, but at least they cut the Pink Panther (sorry Ron- three guitar solos seem like too much for me) and played Patience.

Great set of shows. Please play Atlanta this Fall.

  15. We were at the show last night. I'm an American from the ATL and have no fucking clue who Bubbles or the Trailer Park Boys are, just like these Canadians may not know who the Real Housewives of Atlanta are. But, I've enjoyed flying up here and seeing the shows and don't mind that Bubbles shows up. The fans go crazy and I like seeing Axl singing back-up.

    Going to Halifax show tonight!!!

  16. Hey all you crazy ass motherf$#@er's, Just wanted to thank each and everyone of you for all the love and support that you have given the band and myself! Joining GN'R has been a dream come true, being a Guns fan myself. I am not only honored but very grateful to play along side of such amazing talent as Axl, Dizzy, Richard, Bumble, Frank, Chris and Tommy! I have been around for sometime, worked with many great artist, but the magic that I feel while on stage between this band and the fans is beyond insane! There is no fan like a GN'R fan, thats for fuckin' sure! This band is the most tight knit family that I have ever been welcomed into and we are having the time of our lives on stage together! Thank you for coming out to the shows and supporting the band! Also thx for posting all of the cool videos and pix. I hope each and everyone of you gets to experience this show live! I hope to see you all soon! Much love and respect to you all!

    Peace out! ~ASHBA~

Thanks DJ. You kick ass and I've been fortunate enough to see two of the stops in Canada so far. I'm flying up from Atlanta to see the "No Sleep Til" Moncton show and Halifax as well. Can't wait for you all to play the states so I dont have to travel so fucking far to see you play. Glad things are working out for you in the band.

    Cheers,
