Really? MLB are one of my fave bands and I never knew Axl happened to see them live. They played at least once in LA with Dogs D'Amour in '89, I assume that's when Axl saw them. I'll see if I can find the video you mentioned, but if anyone has more info about this I'll be more than happy to hear. EDIT: found the video, posting it here.

Actually, before the Village leaks in 2019, a Silkworms demo with Bumblefoot on guitar had leaked. That was in 2017 if I remember correctly.

Because the song from the fashion show seems to include that orchestral bit used by GNR as concert intro, which was confirmed by their Twitter account (or by Fernando on Twitter, can't remember) to be from The General.

Are we now sure that those two notes are exactly the same recording from Robin's solo in the Village Leaks and haven't been reproduced by either Slash himself or Richard? Do our guitar experts on here have a fairly certain idea about it? I apologize if this was already discussed, I might have missed it in such a long thread.

As far as we can figure out from the phone recording, they simply lifted the orchestration from one part of the song and used it as a concert intro. It's most likely not the actual intro from The General, just one part from the song.

I'm totally with you on this. Chinese Democracy's mastering is an amazing work, even more so if you think how dense and layered the production is.

I think the mixing, while not perfect, is acceptable. The biggest issues are rooted in the mastering: it's the mastering making HS so loud and "brickwalled". The very same mix, mastered in a proper dynamic way rather than loud for loudness' sake, would sound significantly better.

True, it's the same for me in Italy too. For what it's worth, Perhaps never returned any GNR results for me until about 10-15 days before the official release. The General, until a few days ago, wouldn't return any GNR results either. Now it gives me GNR as the first result in artists and Perhaps as the second result in songs.

If theory is true, Atlas might be followed by a whole album collecting the already released singles plus whatever is left. Long shot, I know 😅

Dummy and Me & My Elvis, as they are easily my favorite instrumentals from the village leaks. No idea how they could sound after being reworked by Slash & Duff but I don't mind, I would love to hear finished versions of those.

7" preordered this morning. I also have a question out of curiosity, not sure if it's worth opening its own thread, so I'm posting here first since it's kinda related. Does anyone (maybe @SoulMonster and @Blackstar have this info in the a4d archive?) remember where/when we heard the title 'The General' for the first time? I remember Sebastian Bach talking about it before CD was released, I'd say 2007 or early 2008, but I don't remember if we had ever heard the title before that.
