  1. Slash actually plays off of Robin's harmony during the first 5-10 seconds, then it's just Slash. Seems intentional...
  2. Good idea. The last thing any of us need to do is complain about how Slash's new lead work isn't as good as Paul Tobias' lead on the demo.
  3. I wonder if we get The General in September? That gives them a chance to play it on tour AND promote the 7".
  4. Do we think The General comes sometime next month? It doesn't HAVE to wait to come out when the 7" is released.
  5. Actually a really good video. Props to them for actually trying a little bit!
  6. Say what you want, folks... but new GNR music is being released in 2023. Perhaps and the General.
  7. If you don't own a decent pair of headphones or speakers, do you even love music? It blows my mind that someone would listen on just built-in laptop speakers or just a phone. So yes, I agree.
  8. I agree. Easy to overanalyze and be critical and all the other stuff because of the lack of material. If this was just one song on a full LP of "bangers", most of us would enjoy it either way.
  9. My World has more energy than Patience, doesn't make it better.
  10. Absurd is the perfect representation of an underdeveloped song, in my opinion. This is a tighter, more catchy track.
  11. New music comes out on Fridays. It is being said that Radio got an early exclusive day before release. I'd expect some sort of announcement later today about it coming out at midnight tonight. Or you'll see nothing and it'll just show up on normal streaming platforms at midnight.
  12. I thought everyone was complaining that Frank was on Hard Skool? So these three tracks so far are all Brain?
  13. Everything from the CD era is too busy. Too many layered vocals. Even the chorus on this song has at least 3 vocal takes/melodies. It goes from busy to messy. I still like it, but it could use some simplifying, like most from that era.
  14. Damn right. I also think that even if they wrote a song about getting drunk and crashing cars again with a blues-inspired hard rock riff, people would just say it's a "worse" Nightrain or It's So Easy.
  15. I think Perhaps is much better than If the World. If the World is the only track on CD that I am tempted to skip over on every listen. I also was never big on IRS, even though I know that's like blasphemy to CD lovers. People wanting classic GNR are going to be unhappy with every single song released in the near future. They all sound like CD for obvious reasons.
  16. I think Robin had a good solo, but I don't think it is as good as some of his other solos on Chinese Democracy (which I am a big fan of). I can 100% see how people that have listened to the leak many times before would find the new solo to seem lazier and less interesting. I think they are apples/oranges. Robin's is more adventurous and creates new melodies, while Slash is just vibing in the song. Just two different approaches.
  17. It must be weird to help write a song musically, be really excited about it, then see it released 20 years later with others taking some of the credit Oh well, looking forward to it being released in a more high quality way to really be able to fully enjoy it.
  18. Is that the demo we've heard or the legit new version? I wouldn't know.
  19. Just as the mixer/mastering engineers would have wanted haha
  20. So... I missed it live. Is there anywhere that you can rewind these live broadcasts to hear it?
  21. Axl should just release a Deluxe Chinese Democracy in a box set with part 2 as is (or whatever is left/finished). I don't think he realizes how liberating it'd be for him to just let the material go. Then... if the current formation of the band wanted to release an album, they could just deliver Axl 10-12 original instrumentals for him to write and put vocals on. I doubt we'll ever get a truly collaborative album. Too many possibilities for tensions to arise.
  22. Robin's solos on the Chinese Democracy album are pretty much flawless and fucking amazing work (and are a big reason I revisit the album). I think people just bash him on here because he changed up some of the classics' solos, especially when they did that first GNR tour. That's not fair to his playing on the CD album. He lays down memorable and perfectly executed leads on Better, Street of Dreams, TWAT, This I Love, etc. I can't imagine those songs with better solos on them and Slash never did top them in all of his live improvs. I definitely like Slash more all around, but I don't think it's fair to be bashing on Finck.
