There are people here who know Lisa as a person in the real world outside of the forums, and the comments posted here will come across as seemingly personal and inappropriate, for no apparent reason

It's always funny when people claim to be huge GNR fans since the beginning and not like Slash. Ever notice how all those people are card carrying members of the Axl defense squad? Amusing in the saddest possible way.

^This times a million. I think it's a case of Axl maybe rewriting the past a bit. I'm not saying everything was perfect (he was going through extensive therapy, relationship issues, family issues, etc) but he doesn't seem nearly as miserable as the Kool Aid drinkers like to act.

I haven't seen a statement from either person saying that Erin did/didn't have Axl's approval or that she did/didn't ask him if he wanted any of the stuff.

And I'm not aware of Erin's financial situation, or the reason's why she auctioned off these items.

I get what you're saying and agree to an extent. Maybe the reasoning is the apparent approximation to Axl? Who knows? I don't think she would lie about it, as she has no reason to. I'm sure some others here would disagree though. It does appear that many of the items are going for much higher than even the auction house anticipated.
