Of all the reunion talk that has been going on this video gives me the biggest inclination that its actually going to happen.

The fact that Slash recently mentioned that hes going to be recording another album with SMKC is weird tho... so who knows?

The new album doesn't really shoot down the rumors, imo. Slash isn't new to multitasking. Plus, he doesn't take 10 years to release an album.

I think the bigger news is their long wait for the next XPAC. The people on the forums have been going apeshit. I was planning to resub but after seeing that long wait with no new content patches planned, I just don't think so.

This was before the rumor and possible announcement of it releasing next fall(at best the summer).

Russ would be a great owner and do great things with the forum (as opposed to letting it crash and burn if something happened).

Even when he has scolded me, the guy does it respectfully and with tact. And not with a string of F words and saying that If you don't like the forum then leave.

He even has discussions with people and seems like a part of the fanbase. That's gotta be hard to do as an admin. He comes across as more objective. I surely don't sense any of that, "do wtf I say or gtfo" type of attitude.(except for when he throws a like on some rather questionable mod posts.)

If he is who I think he is from the old days(CBGB or something like that), he jumped this ship at one point for the same type of concerns so I think he has some wisdom on what NOT to do.

Never announced I would never post here again. I left because the discussions were boring and nothing was going on with the band. I came back after hearing of the BBF drama.

Each owner that takes over this place seems to think they have some magical forum that people can't resist. Has it ever occurred to you that people come here because there really isn't another active board dedicated to this band? Quit flattering yourselves.

Moderating someone's accusations of very common activity in forums(especially this one) is weak. It wouldn't surprise me if it comes back to me calling out this same stuff back when Fernando came around. You were even shown the hypocrisy then.

You have the forum. Great for you. That at doesn't eliminate the possibility of you being wrong. What you did was takeover a board that has a decent base and then tried to turn into hello kitty club or some shit where everyone is "nice" to each other and thanks each other for their opposing view over a cup of tea. Tell someone to fuck off or call them a spoof and it's time for spankings!

When/if the day comes that the users have no choice but to go elsewhere due to the board closing, new boards will pop up. That's how it is in any forum or website. The same posters will be there with the same attitudes. Warning points and suspensions won't change the direction of internet discussions and fans of a gritty rock band.

Telling people to leave if they don't like it is not something new to admins and moderators but for there to be a topic for criticizing your actions, why pull that card? If you don't want criticism, don't ask for it. OR, you could stop allowing some bullshit moderation to go on. But then you'd have to put a leash on your crew and feel bad.

Rules are needed but once it started to shift to "Nothing sexual" or "nothing to do with drug use" that was the start of the end that would probably be best. A forum dedicated to a band that was entirely sexual while they were passing out or puking on stage due to their drug use. Really? I understand you and prior owners did so to kiss Goggle's ass for some revenue but now you're going to the level of trying to change the nature of the board. Nature versus nurture.... Nature always wins.

You may have some users that kiss your ass and defend it because they are rather soft and prefer no fuss but they don't speak for everyone. At the same time, neither do I. You have a mixture of personalities and opinions and clashes are destined to happen. Thus, rules are needed. What isn't needed is a board for children that can't handle "accusations" that go no further than this board. What else isn't needed is an atmosphere where those rules are twisted to punish users for general shit. That's just cowardly.

Look at Anything Goes. It's pretty relaxed most of the time(except for the favoritism that gone on there). Then look at the main section. It's a haven for tight asses hoping not to upset the GNR herd. You even bent the rules for a person affiliated with GNR when they came here to incite users into warnings and suspensions. How did that light discussion go? They shot the shit about nothing for a couple of days and poof. Doing this hoping for some kind of a reconciliation with the fans was bullshit since they aren't even that involved with their own fan club.

Not bothered by it but when she posts bullshit aimed to stir the pot, I'll call it out. We're all adults here. We don't need umbrellas from some pretty basic criticism. You've been putting up some pretty hilarious boundaries here(fuck off = insult, calling someone a fake account = insult/accusation). The consistency is questionable, too. What "90%" of users think about the rules is up in the air. You're turning this place soft. Of course there need to be rules but you guys are shifting all over the place with them.

Maybe you like it soft but quite a few longtime users that have been here before you and will be here after you(regardless of the bans) aren't that soft. You won't change the nature of the internet, the forum or people's attitudes.

All it takes to throw off a mod is a proxy or vpn and quite a few regulars here have done it on the norm and mods were clueless.

Little EMO Annie is a fake account made in 05 that was rarely posted on until now. Ironically, every topic she gets into leaves people either thinking the same thing or that she's ill. As HORRIBLE and SHOCKING as that point is, I hope that no one is traumatized by expressing.

Downzy wasn't aware that I'd said that seeing as it was in a PM. I took the discussion back to the thread for exactly the reason I said; because I like to keep things out in the open. Having said that, Downzy was right to steer the conversation here seeing as that thread is obviously way too far off track by now.

As far as Annie goes, all I can continue to tell you is that she is a real person and that is a real account. On top of that, I should point out that I personally disagree with 95% of what she posts. However, she's not breaking any rules by posting her opinions no matter how different they may be from mine or yours. She's been given warning points & suspensions when she has broken the rules, but we won't do that just because she posts a different opinion than others.

I don't care if she's been punished. That's not my concern at all. I'd rather there be some discussion than everyone agreeing that Axl's latest Vegas piano looked demented.

Point is, when you're trying to moderate an accusation on the level of whether or not they're "fake," you may as well just close shop.

That's the thing though: To me, saying someone else's opinion is bullshit and explaining how your opinion differs is far different than just calling them crazy or something along those lines.

The post that led to the issue we're discussing was simply that I think she's a fake account. In other words, I think her presence here is to post as much bullshit as possible(like can be seen in every controversial topic she posts in) to stir the pot. At what point did my opinion of that become hurtful or out of line?

The fact is the rules, at this point, can be twisted to fit any mold of a "violation."

Here's my $.02 about what I'll call "The Little EMO Annie Situation":

She is not an alt. She is a poster with far different opinions then a lot of others here. She's been warned and even received a suspension for insulting the forum and other users. By the same token, others would receive the same treatment when they do that to her.

Calling her an alt isn't an insult, but it is inaccurate. Calling her a shitposter or crazy is what gets into the insult territory. It's apparent that she loves Axl and she's allowed to that opinion. You don't have to like it or agree with it, but you can't just call her insane because your opinion differs.
