  1. Well, there is a connotation to "leftover" suggesting that it is what remains when the best has been used, which doesn't automatically apply to the unreleased songs from the Chinese Democracy sessions. People who don't like the songs will tend to use that expression because of this connotation. Similarly to saying that November Rain and Don't Cry were leftovers from Appetite. Most people wouldn't use that term to describe those songs.
  2. You hit the nail on the head. Things are going exactly according to the plan as suggested by Slash: Release old material that has been reworked, piecemeal, and then possibly combine it in an album. The fact that this takes an inordinate amount of time shouldn't come as a surprise to any of us. And people who confuse the long time with the band having changed their goals, clearly don't understand this band at all.
  3. That's a fundamental difference between Slash and Axl. Axl abhors certain publicity and would pay to not have to do certain things. Slash doesn't have that limitation, he has always been willing to do stuff, play with people, etc, if it helps his brand recognition.
  4. Yes, because Axl would surely do something like this if he had a different team around him. It's the team, not Axl. Yes, sure.
  5. I am not that excited about the blues album. It's a bit too rock and roll. I prefer my blues to be more bluesy and less rocky. But that's based entirely off the single and hopefully the other songs will be more pure blues renditions of the songs. As for SMKC - I couldn't care less. If he has the capacity to keep on doing that, then go for it. And although I would have preferred the rest of the Chinese Democracy material to come out with its original musicians instead of with Slash and Duff, I have thoroughly enjoyed what we have got so far. I mean, beggars can't be choosers. I don't see how Slash recording over unreleased GN'R songs is going to hamper his ability to do other projects, so it is all good in my book.
  6. I think it is clear not only the songs themselves (Glad To Be Here and Objectify) and the fact that he decided to play these at GN'R shows, tell a lot about his feelings at the time. That he was uncomfortable in GN'R is also clear from a bunch of other things. MAY AND NOVEMBER 2012: BUMBLEFOOT STARTS PLAYING 'GLAD TO BE HERE' AND 'OBJECTIFY' AS HIS SOLO SONGS
  7. I think this comment on yours should have gone with this post of mine: "Because lying that someone has had sex with someone is hardly damaging. Lies about rape, on the other hand..."
  8. Which is also hardly damaging for a rock star. It is almost expected. If he was to try to legally shoot down all false accounts of people having had sex with him, yet leave the true accounts alone, it would just make him appear loco.
  9. Because lying that someone has had sex with someone is hardly damaging. Lies about rape, on the other hand... There is simply no reason why he would care about someone saying he has sex with them, he probably can't remember half of the groupies he has had anyway.
  10. I believe it is only recently she has been claiming she was raped. And cease and desists aren't really intended to curb free speech but more about warning against copyright infringements; secondly, they probably didn't want to give her the attention by reacting to her claims unless necessary.
  11. Impossible exercise but here's an attempt: 01. There Was A Time 02. Better 03. Madagascar 04. Shackler's Revenge 05. Chinese Democracy (but it has to be the version with more bass from the Locker) 06. Monsters 07. The General 08. Catcher In The Rye 09. Hard Skool 10. Perhaps 11. Sorry 12. I.R.S. 13. Oh My God 14. Prostitute 15. Street of Dreams 16. Absurd 17. Scraped 18. Riad N' The Bedouins 19. This I Love 20. If The World
  12. Amazing song when you get over the Nirvana similarities. And Bucket's solos are immense. I keep listening to them over and over.
  13. The default answer to all these wishful hypothetical "do you think" questions regarding GN'R is "No".
  14. Very few had Live? Like A Suicide when Lies was released. After all, LLAS was only printed in a restricted number and came out before Appetite, Lies came out after when GN'R was a big band. Additionally, I think most people who bought Lies, especially those who already had LLAS, knew it was a collection of LLAS and four new acoustic tracks.
  15. Lies was an album, more specifically an extended play album (EP). It wasn't a long play album, though (LP). Well, I suppose that is a matter of definition, what I am talking about is an LP, like 8+ songs bundled together and released together. As for whether they will release an album with new music written after Slash and Duff rejoined GN'R, nah, I don't think that will ever happen, I lost hope in a record with new music in 2016. That being said, GN'R keeps surprising me.
  16. Is this thread only for people who believe the band will write and release a new record? What about us who simply hope for albums with the remaining CD era songs?
  17. We know he rigorously does warm-up and cooldown techniques for every show, and we know he has worked with a coach irregularly over the years when he has felt is was needed.
  18. Yes, a new release is a new release. If the argument was that Swift releases MORE than GN'R, then there would be no comment from me. But since the argument was that Swift, unlike GN'R, releases new music, then I will point out that I disagree on the very fact that we just got new music.
