  1. other than Loki, and GOTG3, recently Marvel output feels like leftovers for the most part imho. I never experienced Marvel fatigue, but it's clear they need to get their shit together. In general, it's just not as interesting as it was until and including Infinity and Endgame and I get that they need time to build it again, but even factoring that in, the quality is too often not good enough imo.
  2. not very much if I had to guess. I think he was totally trying to tell us without really telling us and it made him feel good about himself that he knew something we didn't.
  3. a friendly suggestion: don't do it if you expect any kind of melody. Think of it as Roger the rapper phase. If you're open for what I think Roger was trying to do, there is some value to it I think, but it's kinda like spoken poetry, not anything resembling the original DSOTM imho.
  4. hidden track? maybe, there was no official release date for Atlas so how can it be delayed, who knows what they'll release, if anything in the future, but I think it's possible at least one or a couple of Chinese tunes will be released in the future, but we have no idea about what their future plan is. (if there is a plan)
  5. it existed, but the numbers speak for themselves, it wasn't anything close to the success they've enjoyed pre new Guns or post reunion. Most people never wanted a Gn'R without Slash and that's not surprising as he always was a huge part of the sound, the material, the image of Gn'R, etc.
  6. to be fair, as far as we know, Melissa never got the chance Pitman got to be a real part of the creative process so it's not like we know what she could have contributed if given that chance.
  7. my conclusion/mental note to self is never jump to conclusions when it comes to Gn'R. There is so much we don't know anything/know very little about. At least both The General and Monsters leaked and we'll hopefully have both soon in much better quality. Fernando must have been extra smug when he made that post about Perhaps and The General. (and then it leaked)
  8. Axl did mention it in the past after the 2006 leaks
  9. I think it's pretty cool. Good chorus, good outro, and bold of Axl to attempt to release such a song with this subject matter/lyrics, even if it took him 20 years to almost release it.
  10. Gn'R is more than just 1 tune., I think that just cause you like it doesn't mean that everyone here likes it, but they still like Gn'R's other tunes or maybe they just like to discuss Gn'R and watch the live shows, who knows. if I think this song is garbage, it doesn't make it weird to still visit this forum, even if Axl hasn't released many tunes over the years.
  11. why would Fernando post the sentence "the general is a monster" before the vinyl is released and the 2 compositions registered together kinda like one song if Axl intended to only release the general for now? of course anything is possible in Gn'R land, but it would make sense to release both at the same time imo.
  12. yeah but... a PJ Harvey show. I hope you had a good time. It's rare for her not to bring it live.
  13. Axl also defended himself onstage against accusations he was homophobic by saying he was sexually abused
  14. Please ask robin what kind of strings he uses nowdays.
  15. makes sense that the leaked version of the instrumental Sorry sounds like doom metal cause it's a Bucket tune and metal is a big component of his sound. The official version of Chinese is my favorite, except the Catcher demo and live versions of Madagascar, but I wish the drums, bass, and the production had more balls to them, more power like some of the leaked versions. Why do you think it's understandable that Axl went with a softer version for the official release? just curious.
  16. it's good to look to the past to make an educated guess sometimes, but also to look at what happens currently which I think is that this lineup seems very stable and if a band member for whatever reason should choose to leave and its not Axl, Slash, and to maybe a lesser extent Duff, the show can still go on. Also, there is still a lot of money to be made, Axl seems to enjoy himself and there isn't another band that can provide quite the same experience like Gn'R can still deliver. the most problematic aspect in my eyes is Axl's diminishing vocal ability but that can be dealt with imo at least for the next few years it shouldn't be a deal breaker with most casuals.
  17. album or bust? I don't really see it. The main attraction is what Gn'R did in the past, so there is still demand for Gn'R as a nostalgia act and Axl said he wants to keep Gn'R going as long as possible. If anything, there is an improvement cause at least Axl is choosing to release at least some material, and there is even a music video for Perhaps so not sure what you mean by hitting a crossroad.
  18. that is highly unlikely imo. what made you come to this conclusion, if you don't mind me asking?
  19. yeah it's a really fun track live imo, it rocks. Not sure if it's more popular now, maybe you're right. The energy of Absurd live is pretty explosive.
  20. not sure if this was already posted, another Duff interview: “I was very influenced by Prince’s bass playing – he had a high-end to his sound, and I incorporated that into Appetite for Destruction”: Duff McKagan names 7 bassists who shaped his sound | Guitar World
  21. yes and not many people liked it, but they kept playing it anyway, maybe more for themselves. Same shit could happen with The General even if it's "just" a B side. A B side could be a quality tune or a tune that Axl really likes. Why else would he release it, but I guess time will tell.
