  1. I watched the stream.

    The band sounded fantastic.

Axl, Slash and Duff really are the core of the GN'R sound - the Guns N' Roses sound is back, it's just totally different than what new GN'R sounded like, incredible how "just" Slash and Duff make such a difference. Axl sounded great and seemed in a great mood.

Even Fortus fills perfectly on the band sound, no more crazy / weird guitar parts that some of the previous guitar players brought - this is pure no bullshit Rock N' Roll.

Loved the instrumentals as well, great sounding band - the GN'R sound is back.

I'm just not totally sold on the drumming.

  2. Just finished some more home demos.

These are just simple guitars, drums and bass. The wah solo at the end was a one take improvising so it has f* ups but I wanted to keep it true to the recording so it's all unedited.

It's 3 new songs, on the video description you have the direct time link to each one.

If you just want the last song you can listen to it here:

  3. Sad sad news.

Now people can't even attend a restaurant, a football match, a concert without wondering if they'll get back home safe.

Things are out of control in Europe.

Everybody gets in and out real easy and it has been happening for too long. French born citizens themselves are doing this, they go to terrorist countries, have training there, come back to their country and wait for orders.

    Close the borders - now!

  4. MÖTLEY CRÜE and SIXX: A.M. bassist Nikki Sixx says that "everybody knows" the classic lineup of GUNS N' ROSES is reforming for a world tour.
Asked by a fan on Twitter if GUNS N' ROSES should do a reunion tour, Sixx responded: "THEY ARE. EVERYBODY KNOWS."
One of Sixx's bandmates in SIXX: A.M. is DJ Ashba, who played guitar for GUNS N' ROSES for six years before announcing his departure this past July.
Meanwhile, Vicky Hamilton, who is best known for managing the early careers of GUNS N' ROSES and POISON, in addition to serving as a management consultant for MÖTLEY CRÜE, revealed in a Facebook post that she was "texting with [former GUNS N' ROSES guitarist] Slash," who apparently told her that the rumored GUNS N' ROSES tour "isn't happening."
A report from Dish Nation on Tuesday claimed that a reunion tour of the classic GUNS N' ROSES is "close to being revealed," with the band allegedly headlining several major festivals in Europe and the U.S. before embarking on a worldwide tour to mark its 30th anniversary. A source explained: "Slash and Axl have verbally agreed to get things together again and reform the original band. The live shows is where they can show the world what they had and also make the greatest earnings."
The source added: "Promoters are quietly working away to land opportunities. Details of the reunion are expected to leak out in the next few days. Everyone is expecting huge demand for tickets, but the boys are very humble and are not sure what to expect."
According to other reports, the band has already been approached about playing shows in Australia, Portugal and Sweden.
Rumors about a reunion have been heating up ever since the summer, when Slash revealed that he and singer Axl Rose had repaired their relationship after nearly 20 years of estrangement.
The longtime feud between Slash and Rose has been seen for some time as the main stumbling block to a reunion of the original lineup, which has not performed together in 24 years.
Several members have recently left the current lineup of GUNS N' ROSES, which features Rose as the sole original member. The band has not performed live since last year.
The band's Twitter account has posted several cryptic messages lately, furthering talk of a reunion.

  5. I know that feeling as well.

Rule number one in business - take the oportunity as soon as it's presented; if you want it grab it, don't save it for latter!

On the other hand, the 2014 lineup had that "120th Anniversary" inlay on the 12th fret, not everyone is a fan so maybe that's why it was so cheap?

  6. I think you're a great singer and except for the 1st song, I liked all the other ones. I don't think your voice is similar to Bon Jovi at all; if anything your singing style reminds me of Roxy Blue singer (a good thing) but don't worry about similarities, as long as you're not trying to sing like someone else your fine, it's your voice, its cool and you sing great in tune!

You need to develop your project, the hardest part of anyband you have already - a good singer.

  7. I could have bought the 2555x but I've got the 2555 SL already, which seems to be better build as it's partial handwired; the 2555x is all PCB, the tubes and pots are board mounted, it's not the same quality.

I kept telling you the day would come for me to own a 800 and a 1959. Now only the 1959 is missing.

I know Slash is using the 2203 reissue now with some mods but the tones I'm getting with mine are a lot better than what he's getting with his 800s. I'm getting from perfect AC/DC (think Ballbreaker for reference) to 80s Scorpions, Accept, Cinderella, Aerosmith, GN'R, ... Slash is getting a thin trebly tone, don't get it. Maybe it's the mics or pedals he's using, I'm not a fan - and he used to have the best tone ever either on the records with the modded Marshalls and live with the boosted 2555, I dunno how it went down.

I'm sure the Mesa Boogie will be great; on this pro-level of amps there are not bad amps, they're all great; some just might suit you better than others for your playing style and for the type of music you play. I know exactly the tone I like so my amps are all slight variations of the classic Marshall distinct tone.

Maybe this time you'll record a demo of your amp before you sell it? eh eh

  8. I would keep the Marshall (I would always keep a Marshall over pretty much anything else, lol...) - plus it's a Plexi!

I never owned a Mesa Boogie, I've heard other guys playing it live (I think they were Rectifiers) and sounded great and heavy, but it's not my thing (classic rock tone).

In the meantime, it's been a long time since I've been looking for this and this time I pulled the trigger - it arrived today, brand new, meet my new Marshall that will rip your heads off on my future recordings:

    Did I needed it? No.

Did I wanted it? Yes, for a long time already.

I tought about buying late the 70s/early 80s vintage original amp but I wanted something brand new I can trust, take on the road without ever fearing what might happen in a +40 year old amp; also the effects loop is something I wanted.

Did a quick test on it and loved it - more gain than I tought it would have (people say this is low/mid gain) and more gain than I need, with true classic tone as heard in countless records.

Now only the 1959 Plexi is missing... and I need it even less than this one! If we lived closer I would help you get rid of yours, Omar!
  9. Adler did played with another band without being a solo project - after he "left" GN'R he joined forces with Davy Vain (from Vain) to reform Road Crew and recorded several tracks, latter released by Vain.

Altough not technically brilliant, Adler's great - he has a distinctive and recognizable druming. If you hear to the UYI demos with him they sound great - search youtube for the Locomotive demo, as soon as you hear it you know it's Adler. He has that cool distinctive snare/cymbals/hi-hat patterns that you easely recognize, that's greatness to me.

Also it's funny how he plays with limited technique, raising his elbows all the time,... still he sounds unique, true talent.

One day I was driving and on the radio some song started playing. I had no idea who the band was, who the members were, I just tought that the druming sounded great and just like Steven Adler. After the song was done the announcer said it was Vain - Get Up. Latter I searched for it and found out that it was Adler on drums, true story.

Adler's the GN'R drumer. Unfortunatelly I don't think he's reliable enough to be considered for anything serious, I wouldn't take him on the road, only for studio recording. Still no one could properly fill his shoes for the GN'R drum sound.

  10. That's great Omar, Peter Green's Fleetwood Mac were amazing. Like it this way, Oh Well , Rattlesnake Shake, Albatross, Plus Peter Green, Danny Kirwan and Jeremy Spencer were a great trio of guitar players.

For those that don't know, Fleetwood Mac started as a blues band with Peter Green as frontman.

Peter Green was just great, probably my fav guitar player. This is my fav instrumental ever along with Albatross (the video's nice too!):
