I’m just fucking around. It’s a mess of a song, but I do like Monsters. How goes it?

The General is grating and uncomfortable. Not just the lyrics, but the music too. It fits the vision for the song. Even though both it and Monsters have very standard song structures, they manage to both be completely weird which is what I liked about the Chinese saga. Artistically, isn’t that what The General should be? Maybe Axl is the daddy and we’re all saying “no, we don’t want to!” “Give us Appetite blues rock or TWAT epics!” But no, Axl was our (Mac) Daddy all along Thank you, papa Axl, by take care of us. The General is better than the old one. Totally not Stockholm syndrome…

Monsters is probably going to end up my favorite post- Chinese GNR song. I am digging it, but hoping for a HQ release

I like Solo but I don't know how you rate it so high compared to some others!

Getting Soul Monster was a huge surprise, that would have been the next one. Honestly, it depends what has vocals. I love a lot of the instrumentals but who knows what he sang lyrics over? Id love to hear Zodiac, Tonto, Oklahoma, Quicksong, Me and My Elvis, etc with vocals and with added/reworked music but who knows what was done? The last big completely unheard songs (unless they were on the locker set) are probably Seven and Ides of March Like the songs or not, this week was huge. Anything else is a bonus, and it feels like the door is finally closing on our Chinese journey.

Hmmm @Voodoochild and @22frets might be onto something with the outro solo of Monsters. Slash first half and Fortus second? Sounds great whoever did the parts

Slash plays exactly like the outro of Monsters on The Last Fight and Battleground. That’s him You don’t think it’s Bucket on The General’s solo? I’ll listen again

That’s definitely Slash at the end of Monsters. He plays similar on The Last Fight Agree on the rest.

I think they’re rough mixes. Monsters is Slash but The General trips me up This is what I think, I’m doubtful these are the final versions because they sound like demos

I almost feel guilty listening to The General. Lyrics are definitely some of Axl’s darkest

I think there is a weird in between here. No way these are final and ready for release, and it sounds like Bucket doing the General solo and Slash on Monsters
