  1. If Chinese Democracy ends up better than 'Its Five OClock Somewhere' (which was going to be the next GNR album) then we can finally put the question to rest as to who was more influential in GNR, Axl or Slash/Gilby/Matt (which all appeared on the first Snakepit album I believe).

  2. Hopefully MyGNR and HTGTH come up with another presale and help us out like in New York.

They had a presale? How did I not know this? Details goldfinger19. Lol :o

    what does pre sale mean

disect the word and figure out, pre (meaning before) and sale (meaning you can buy them) so by putting the two together would mean buying tickets before everyone else can.

  3. Sure there are plenty of bands that could end up being the opener. It could be anyone as we learned in 2002 with Mixmaster Mike and CKY. I mean there are plenty of bands riding on current or upcoming radio hits right now such as:

Avenged Sevenfold (Doing a Canadian Tour before September 23)

Trivium (Touring with Maiden in the Winter)

Powerman 5000 (Hope it isn't them but they would be available)

Papa Roach (Prepping for a tour...going EMO...)

Disturbed (Supposedly doing the Jager tour again in the states)

Queens Of The Stone Age (Writing right now..no current plans)

Army Of Anyone (Releasing a new album soon...Axl and the Deleo's...take that VR! :)

Stone Sour (No plans after Family Values tour)

HIM (Nothing that I know of yet)

Kill Cheerleader (Not a chance but it should be them)

Muse (Great band that is busy, but they are fucking cool, so I mentioned them)

Three Days Grace (Tour Ends in early September)

    Wolfmother (Could be...hope not)

The Panic Channel (Navarro's new band, he likes GNR...who knows)

Why hope not Wolfmother? They are probably the best band up there.... QOTSA and MUSE are way too big to open.

Not true, QOTSA opened for the Chilli Peppers just before their last flop album... they dont tour unless they are opening for someone...

  4. I think you all are reading way too much into this. Axl goes out, just like everyone else in this world does, he just has media attention whenever he does something. Its a simple fact of him going out and having fun, and you dont have to be 'on top of the world' to do that.

  5. The only session musicians I know of in GNR would be Josh Freese, seeing as how by definition session musicians work in the studio and rarely go on tours. I think everyone in the band will get royalties, Axl has them signed to 'hush' contracts, thats my guess.

Session musicians do not tour to support the album, they simply record take their money, then go away. But I could be wrong, Axl could have had them all sign their rights to the songs away, but I doubt it.

    Royalties :rofl-lol:

This record has a $13 million advance to re-coop first. Thats a long way to go before we start thinking royalties.

Also session musicians are generally paid a fixed few for arrangement/performace and writing. But they get paid on the day for their work and isn't dependant on whether the record sinks or swims. The band members could easily just recieve a wage (a healthy wage for the top class musicians in GnR) and not recieve any royalities from the record.

  6. It's supposed to have 13 songs.

    We have heard:-

    Madagascar

    There Was A Time

    The Blues

    Chinese Democracy

    I.R.S

    Catcher in the Rye

    Better

    And a little Checkmate.

My point is, will we all be surprised when we hear CD? Okay, the versions which we heard aren't final versions, but they are what they will sound like on the album. If the leaks never got out, do you think Axl wouldn't play them on this tour? Would he have played them anyway?

I love all these songs, but I can't see this album being "fuckin' mind blowing", "epic proportion" and how Axl is trying to deliver the best album he possible could. Dizzy saying "CD will redefine rock". These songs are great, but do they deserve to be blowing there trumpit? They never made such statements about there previous albums which are rated pretty high.

I can see Chinese Democracy, at best, equalling Appetite for Destruction. I don't think it will be rated any greater. Just another album thatll be a classic. I can't see it sticking out as the best album of all time.

Thats mostly your fault that you listened to the leaks, so you ruined any surprise by yourself. I havent listened to them myself. But I think your expecting too much if you think that this will be the best album of all time. Chances are good, that it wont be.

  7. The guy is fuckin' full of himself. But he really seems like a sad person. I think inside he's very depressed. He's acting like he's 21 and just won the lottery.

Okay, so going out, and having a good time means that you are a sad person, and depressed? Plenty of people of wealth go out and spend a lot of money on champagne, and lots of people buy drinks for people, that doesnt mean your sad or depressed, it means your being social.

  8. Although I somewhat agree with Kaneda, I do not expect Guns N' Roses to last forever, I just want to see what was worth keeping this thing going for as long as Axl has had this going. I want to see what he came out with, and I want to see him perform one more time.

I personally dont care if Chinese Democracy sells 100 million copies, or 10 thousand, if I like it, thats all that really matters to me. I dont care if anyone else likes it, I want to see Axl perform, thats all I want. If he comes to Detroit one more time, then for all I care Guns N' Roses can go perform at state fairs and sell 500 tickets to their shows.

I agree that people are expecting way too much from this album. But lets face it, we on these boards are really the only people who care enough and are expecting big things from this album. Geffen just wants their money back, and they will keep Axl around because his name alone will sell records (reference Velvet Revolver, they got a record deal because of who was in the band, make no mistake, if they were a bunch of Joe no-names, they would still be in a garage).

I would be surprised if Chinese Democracy took over the world, simply because thats not the American music market right now. But I will say that Guns N' Roses do have the opportunity to be a continually touring band along the lines of Aerosmith and the Rolling Stones, they might never release anything of any notability ever again, but for as long as they are around, people will still be talking about them, and somewhere in the world, they will be selling out arenas.

Axl could take GNR and be a total nostalgia trip and he could go to Europe and Japan, and be the biggest kid on the block, he is proving this right at this very moment, he is getting great reviews and people are hyped to see him.

As far as America goes, will Axl Rose in 2006 be as popular as Axl Rose in 1992? I doubt it, would you think any of those sexy pop stars will have the same fan base in 15 years? Will Britney Spears still be hot as a 40 year old? I doubt it. Axls time is up in the USA, sad but true, he will never be the 'flavor of the moment,' but in Europe and Japan and wherever else, people really have an affinity for him, Chinese Democracy or not.

  9. You think the advertisement company could do a little research on the current band don't ya think?

    lazy people...

I'm not sure how that all works. Don't they need approval from GnR reps. to run adverts? Is someone actually giving them the OK to use images of the old lineup?!

and btw, I love your sig!

No, how it works is that the music channel purchases (or obtains) a licensing agreement, that allows them to use the name GNR, and from there the promotions company makes a commercial, then the music channel runs the ad. GNR or their management really have no say in what the advertisement looks like, or says, its strictly the channel/venue, etc. unless GNR has something in a contract that says that they have final say on what is put out as advertisements, but typically bands dont, its the promotion company mostly, or if it relates to an album, the record label.

  10. Or wat porno had he finished when he came up with FIST

    some of my stuff :shades:

Everyone was up for continuing with Damnocracy except for Ted Nugent and Jason Bonham, Baz, Scott Ian and Evan Seinfeld were all into it... The Nuge didnt seem like he wanted to continue, and Bonham was going to go back to Foreigner.

  11. You guys are crazy if you think that this is a 'bad' incident and is a sign for Axl to slow down. The guy has been 'slowed down' for a fucking decade, let the guy do his thing. Every big 'rock star' drank, hell Duffs pancreas exploded, and Slash overdosed, and you guys think getting drunk and biting a security guard is bad?

Rockstars from the beginning of rock have destroyed hotel rooms, its part of the gig. You guys would say he was a sissie if you saw him shoping at DKNY or Hilfiger, but when he plays the 'rockstar' you think hes all of a sudden out of control.

    Whos the hipocrit now?

  12. I think Axl and Matt went to see him with NIN and they both agreed they'd like him in the band.

Axl wanted him as lead and Matt wanted him as rythm.

Actually.....................Axl and Matt went to see a band called Cirque De Soul (I think this was the name or somthing simmilar to it), and they both liked the guitar player, and like you said Axl wanted him lead and Matt wanted him rhythm...

I also believe that this was before Finck was ever involved in NIN because Trent Reznor was scouting too at that time...

this may not be 100% correct, but its close to it... Also it was Matts idea to have him the band and he just wanted Axls approval. :)

Actually Robin was with NIN for awhile, then he joined Cirque Du Soleil during some NIN offtime, during which Axl recruited him to join GNR, which Robin did for awhile, then he quit GNR to go on tour with NIN while they were touring on The Fragile, after that was over, GNR has recruited Buckethead to join the band, then a little after Robin rejoined GNR, this time permanently.

  13. ill admit, i was one of the people who thought Robin didnt quite fit the GNR mould, in 2002 he would prance around like he had a stick up his ass, and basically just look like he didnt really want to be there. Now he has that charisma that screams 'Im In Guns N' Roses!' and he genuinely looks like he digs being there.

ill also admit that with the new look, he looks like he belongs in GNR, rather than GNR being a 'stopping point between NIN tours'

  14. i stil dunno why they have two keyboardists

They dont, they have a keyboard player and a synthesizer player, two different things. Pitman does effects, Dizzy does traditional keyboards. Just like in the UYI era, Dizzy did keyboards and Teddy did the organ.

  15. There's someone working on it...I think something will surface within the next half hour.

God, I really hope so. I can't stay awake much longer, really.

Hopefully its some good video, I wanna hear what this Bumblefoot fool sounds like.

GNR guitarists Slash, Buckethead, Bumblefoot... crazy..
