Out of place or not TAY is the shit. That should have been a hit single, almost every other diamond certified rock album had more singles released than Appetite so there was definitely room.
Agreed mate! Brilliant song highlighting the amazing abilities of the boys on guitar especially.

Axl Rose should play a game called "Release the Album."
We’ve all been pawns in that game for years and years. The rules are too hard to follow and there are no winners.

Really cool song if it was finished off, Axl sounds good on it.

I didn't hear the rehearsal but I like the Hardschool intro. For me had crescendo, the problem is that is a demo and it seems an unfinished track.
Me too, I love the Hardschool intro as it does build up then busts into a very cool song. I hope they leave it as it is.

I listened a few times during the show on one of the dodgy Facebook feeds. Did Axl seem unusually chatty during the show?
I mean that’s great, I appreciate him being happy, so it was a nice surprise. I remember him commenting that his piano had Coronavirus at one stage (maybe as they were preparing for November Rain).

As I just stated in the show thread, his voice is what it is. But he gave it everything he had and that's what I appreciate.
I don't care if a voice is shot or how shit the singer sounds, if he's at least trying to put on a great show then I can get behind it. Can give you many examples.
Well said dude!

I'm in for the McCartney reissue, Slave to the Grind and at least one of, if not all of the austin powers soundtracks.
What is this RSD list? Is it Record Store Day? I have heard that term but can you explain it to me? And is this an American thing?
I would love to have Slave to the Grind on record, one day I will stumble across it.

Shit! Gilby has figured out how to release new music. F*ck me, can someone please ask him to give Slaxl a call and some advice!
Seriously though, well done Brando. That is a very cool guest.

It was amazing. In the years before the release I remember picking up every rock magazine I could find here in Norway, hoping there would be news about the next album, and being so excited when I firs heard some of the song titles and the plans of two records released at the same time. I remember taking one of these mags with me to school, showing it to my friends, probably talking nonstop about the band and the coming records. That was when I peaked as a fan. Just an amazing time, and how slowly time went and how frustrated I was when the release date was delayed again and again. It meant so much to me.
It was an incredible time mate, just amazing. Sadly it’s all in the past but they were great days to be a fan!

This +1000!
The minute they actually DO something instead of bitching about Trump on Twitter is when I might have some respect again.
Homlessness is a SHAME for any western country and it's never by free choice of those out there trying to survice. It's people who have run out of financial, physical, mental and social resources, often with a tragedy behind it. Human. Fucking. Beings. Any nation calling itself "first world" should do everything in their power to help those and not fight wars a million miles away on the other end of the world when at home there's people starving and sleeping under the bridge.
Way to go Duff, now call Axl and play a benefit show to help those people. You guys charge about 150-300 dollar per ticket these days. If at least 50% goes to those in need I might attend your shows again regardless the ever same setlist.
Great post mate! Australia's homeless problem, while nowhere near the magnitude of America, is increasing over time and is a humanity issue that really should be dealt with over so many other issues.
And yes, Guns n' Roses and so many other ridiculously rich entertainers, sports stars etc... are raking in tens of millions, even hundreds of millions of dollars and turn a blind eye to the suffering as long as they are accumating the wealth. I guess we never really know if they are doing something. I remember the boys from AC/DC saying years ago they donate a very large amount to charities but do it anonymously and no-one ever knows about it.

Wife had a good chuckle over how poor Axl sounded.
Band was tight, but why pick a song he's sounded so weak on for the longest time for national TV? I get it, it's their mainstream hit, but Jungle would have been much better if that's what we were going for.
I wonder who picked the song? The band? Axl? The network?

Link wouldn’t work for me on my iPad here in Australia, just kept playing shitty American ads 🤪

Ha! The stream I watched briefly had some guy talking a lot through it and I heard him say “I think it looks like Axl has lost a bit of weight”. The guy wouldn’t shut up.

Stubhub is a secondary market site. That’s not necessarily what the tickets costs. That’s what people are willing to pay once they’ve been sold
Not saying artists don’t sell on the secondary market (some do). However it’s certainly possible to grab at face through certain channels. Pearl Jam is also not one of those artist that practice this. They try and keep scalpers/secondary sellers out of their system.
I’m also sure if GNR could, they would practice something Such as selling on the secondary market. They release a certain amount of tickets, and Claim they are sold out. Then they immediately put some up through secondary channels. It’s a fairly common practice
Yep, isn't this what Metallica recently got exposed for? It's pretty shitty really manipulating ticket sales and prices and fucking your fans over...

Yeah, I'm at the same place you're at. I haven't even seen the band since the reunion. Last time I saw Axl was in 2012 when Izzy came out and did 14 Years. I would see them if they put out a new record, but have no interest otherwise.
The annoying thing is, GNR have so many casual fans that will go ad nauseam, which is why they can get away with this shit. I know a guy who's going to the London shows, a husband of a colleague, and this'll be the third reunion show he's been to. He's going with a group of lads for a stag night and they go just to get pissed. He doesn't know or has never even heard of Chinese Democracy, nor does he give two shits about GNR ever doing a new album. A GNR show to him is an excuse to swig his beer to Paradise City, do bad karaoke to KOHD and get pissed to SCOM. Not that I'm saying there's anything wrong with any of that, but unfortunately, because GNR appeal to so many casual fans, they don't need the support of us diehards who actually give a shit about a little something called the music.
This is a fantastic point actually. Sadly very true :-(

Hopefully true, and like the saying 'where there's smoke there's fire' , it sounds like Eddie might have some inside info. These guys know everyone. I heard lots of stuff years ago because one of the big promoters, Michael Gudinski, i think, used my friend's Elite Nanny service in Toorak (Melbourne) to regularly look after his kids and people talk. (I also scored front row early entry tickets to the Melbourne Metallica gig thanks to that connection to Gudinski).

So duff and slash are happy to do another 4 year tour without doing any gnr new material knowing they are creative and the amount of instrumentals etc axl is sitting on and would like to expand the gnr discography?. Im sure deep down duff and slash know what the gnr name means to fans, even if axl doesnt.
Exactly, that’s what I mean. I think the frustration of treading water for years and years will get to Slash and Duff. They do know that time waits for no man, or band, and that I’m reasonably sure that those dudes would love to create, release, and tour on the back of, new music to enhance the GnR legacy before they are too old or dead.
Sure they have their side gigs, and I love SMKC, but after many albums released that may become stale one day.
