What it's going for, and what it actually is, are pretty different things... I wouldn’t compare it to Inception.

Not content wise. What I meant by that example was things don't seem to make sense but it's beautiful at least. Maybe better example would be David Lynch films. Surreal cinema. Axl' soul waking up, taking shower, slash floating on the water, Dolphin coming outta billboard and so on.

For one, live performance videos > story videos. I'd rather watch LALD, Dead Horse... Paradise City is probably their best video imo.

Estranged takes itself too seriously. Axl's soul leaving his body then crying in the shower, the tanker, the dolphins, Slash floating along doing his solo... I realize most of these poll results are based on nostalgia, but Estranged is a ridiculous video. November Rain is over the top but the video works - Estranged is over the top for the sake of it, attempting to be "epic".

That's an opinion but the worst interpretation I've ever heard about Estranged. However I respect your pov. You're most probably a fan of real cinema. Where things make sense. That's why you like live footage.

Estranged music video is like a surreal painting. The whole thing is like a dream with unlimited possibilities. Have you ever seen Inception the movie? I think Estranged is the Inception of music videos. Or at least that's how much I love it. It's as intellectual as this band could get. Very respectful production as well.

It's the opposite for me with Since I Don't Have You. I like the song (or, rather, I think GN'R did a pretty good version of an average doo wop song) but I think the video is lame (with the exception of a couple cool scenes and the fact that it's the last "proper" video GN'R ever released).

I like both the song and the clip. Also yea somehow seeing Axl apparently having bit of fun after divorce and stuff is cool. Wish they would just continue being active in the years after...

I'm guessing because of how dangerous Pyrotechnics really is is why GNR got rid of them. 😏

Then Rammstein could have been ashes by now. We're talking about pyrotechnics not a grill machine.

Who cares really? You go to GNR to see pyro? They never had any significant pyro anyway. I guess all pyro is given to Rammstein these days. They bought up everything. ;)

I care to be honest. The band is set to default mode NITL setlist since 2016 (Read 2012) with the exception of added Absurd+HS.

What's left there to enjoy if not for Pyro and stuff? watching Fernando or Beta passing by when I'm at the front row?

Otherwise I can pay for a 1 Euro beer and enjoy any random cover band in a bar with a better singer + additional non-GNR songs from Judas Priest as their encore. Much enjoyable trust me.

  6. It's an unfair judgement 'cause Bad Apples wasn't meant to be a stand alone music video.

It's just a collage of Don't Cry which is used as a filler in Andy Morahan's Making Fucking Videos: Don't Cry.

Otherwise you have to include Double Talking Jive from Making Fucking Videos: Estranged.
