  1. Hmmm interesting. Finck used to perform it without a backing track as he did fuck it up a few times. This however is iffy, as it is out of tempo throughout the whole intro. Could have been the reverb and delay settings on the rack/pedal setup of DJ's guitar. Not making excuses as they have used backing tracks before for Axl's low vocals on the song, but the tempo is out for the whole intro. DJ could easily just time his playing better after noticing this but doesn't. So I'm thinking it's the reverb/delay settings on his rig.

i'm with you on the delay/reverb thing. sounds much more like that than a backingtrack

  2. does anybody remember that guy that was rumored to be hired to be gnr's turntable player? i recall something about that from back in '09..

No, but before Bumble joined, I remember people swearing that Pittman was just going to play all of Bucket's parts on the keyboard...

hah, i remember that! had been pretty cool to see him do that actually :rofl-lol:

  3. Didn't get the idea of "two shows for 14,99". Are they still selling the LA show or they'll broadcast the 31st Vegas show?

two vegas shows! on on the 30th and one on the 31th rock2

    EDIT:

ooops, i misread that! my bad. just the 30th up for streaming it appears..

  4. I would say he is better than average for sure. November Rain is not the easiest tune to play. Coldplay's piano lines are MUCH easier than any Guns piano parts.

dude, november rain is pretty simple. not difficult at all. coldplay has some songs that are more complex than that, but neither of those bands have "great" pianists. both axl and chris are average pianists.

I wish I could play the November Rain intro :(

if you can read sheet music just sit down and slowly try and play it. took me about an hour to figure out the intro, and that was when i was starting to learn playing! the rest is very easy chords along the way. the most difficult part is the outro, but comes along after awhile!

    :xmasssanta:

  6. Ron's solo at the end of PC is fucking amazing.

Very interesting, the bit that is played at 5:07-5:12 is a thing that Bucket used to play in his PC solo and I love it.

Yeah, I loved Bucket's solo too. That addition makes this a better song in my opinion.

thats not ron playing, its richard

Ron is center stage, what makes you think it's Richard? You can't see either of them close enough in the vid.

you can easily see richard picking notes and ron hammering chords on his guitar so its richard ;)

you can also hear it on the guitar tone

    EDIT:

hehe, i see you got it

  8. "Welcome to gunsnroses.com. As you can see we have recently made some changes to the site. These changes are very temporary as we will be launching a new and improved gunsnroses.com shortly"

Shortly? Sounds a lot like "soon"...

that was probably posted as a test or maybe to a part of the old site that was unavailable before the new site went online for everyone to see. it's posted 25th november so what you see are the new and improved gunsnroses.com ;)

  9. So ... if Tommy is sick and can't play, how on earth is the band supposed to find a bassist for the shows in Seattle and Vancouver on such short notice? A bassist that already knows (most of) the songs? ;) ;) ;)

That's not realistic at all. Duff barely could remember YCBM's bass lines and kept looking at Bumble's guitar to remember what to play.

believe me, it wouldn't take duff long to remember what to play in those songs. the bass lines in gnr aren't exactly complexe and a player with duff's talent could easily figure out the CD songs and all the rest of them in no time.

  10. Thanks for sharing, they did one of these articles on Maiden's touring gear last year, and it was equally interesting.

Of particular note, I found it interesting that they pictured Bumble's ITW acoustic. Obviously it's on the setlist, but the fact that he's still got it on the road after 2 months means it might actually get played before year's end? :shrugs:

I'm also having a brain fade...does Bumble ever actually use the Les Paul anytime during the show this year?

its probably amongst the songs they can play if they want.

and its not like they send some unused gear home during a tour :P

i think McBob (bumbles guitar tech) mentioning in an interview about rons gear that he has that just in case he needs another guitar or just for fun or something

  11. -Coldplay are more mainstream (easier for the masses to listen to)

-Coldplay have been consistent over the years (in all areas) whereas guns haven't

    -Coldplay regularly releases albums

    -Coldplay does promotion

-Coldplay would definitively sell out guns

-Majority of all people do not think of Chris Martin as an ignorant ass, compared to what most people thing about Axl. all the people i know think he is, because there has been so much shit and controversy over the years

i love gnr and i love coldplay, but even though i love guns more i have to say that they are more consistent in everything they do. and they are also more of a band for the masses. coldplay is a band that nobody really hates because there is nothing to hate. no controversies, e.t.c.

guns has been through alot and they lack the consistency and 'normal' status that coldplay have.

that said guns' music is alot more 'there', at least for me. it isn't something that everyone in the world listens to and alot of things happen to them that keeps me interested. and also: like someone above me said; coldplay are huge because they have the current mainstream appeal. the time when bands like guns were mainstream is over, at least for now.
