Just got back from the show.

Probably in my top five of GNR shows.

Axl sounded the best I've heard him since 2010.  Was a lot stronger and raspier than the two times I saw him in 2016 and in Buffalo this year.  Seemed like he was enjoying himself.  The rest of the band was on point. Didn't pick up any mistakes but wasn't really listening for them this time around.

THEY PLAYED PROSTITUTE!!!  With that I've heard every song from Chinese Democracy performed live.  I think I might be the only person not employed by the band to make such a claim.  Great song live, enjoyed it way more than I thought I would.

Other highlight was My Michelle.  Axl sounded fantastic and it was great hearing it live as it's been awhile for me.

He killed TIL, especially the chorus.  Definitely won the crowd over by the end of the song.

What a difference an earlier start time makes for a Toronto crowd.  This was the fourth time I've seen the band play the ACC here in Toronto (2002, 2006, 2010, 2017) and this was the most energetic crowd I had seen.  Everyone was really into it; a lot of dancing in the stands.

Again, nothing to complain about this show.  Took my brother as his birthday present; he hadn't seen them since 2002.  He thought it was the best concert he can remember seeing.

Now just got to find some way of convincing my eight and a half month pregnant wife to let me go tomorrow...  :takethat:

Tell her, that there will be a Guns N Roses concert tonight... this will be more than enough... ☺☺☺

  2. In Budapest for a few weeks, spotted a translated copy of Reckless Road by chance in the music section, it was the only GNR book! Great for Marc, but sad for GNR, though, was surprised that Slash's book wasn't there at the least:

Thought you guys could post photos of copies you find in other places.

These are hungarian editions  I have many of these books

I assume you were at Alexandra bookstore, great place

Unfortunately we don't have a hungarian translation of Slash's book

No, you're wrong. You can find Slash's book in hungarian almost in every book store. We don't have Duff's one, thats correct...

  3. Hello Marc,

I love these topics, really interesting to read all of them, and your answers as well.

I have a question, how did Axl gets his name? I read the previous topic about Ole Beich, read the wiki page about him, and realized that his fathers' name was Aksel.

Axl's wiki: "Four years later, after moving to Los Angeles, he became so engrossed in his band AXL that his friends suggested he call himself Axl Rose"

    Maybe this friend was Ole??

    Thanks!

  4. Wasn't there a story about some woman that went to his house for a party...something about knowing Axl because they both kept wolves as pets or something like that.

Yeah, I remember the story and her. She had a website hosted by geocities or something like that. She had a ton of pics and had pics from her trip to meet Axl.

    Great! Have a link??

  5. I rather them in order of position in the band becouse otherwise it would be stupid for me

    singer: Axl (no joke)

Leads: Buckethead, Ron Thal, RobinFinck:Ashba:Slash, Tracii

    Rithym:Izzy,Fortus,Huge, Gilby

    Drummers:Brain,Frank:Adler, Freese, Sorum,Ole Beich

    Bass:Stinson,Duff, Rob

    Keyboards: Dizzy, Pitman

Rob Gardner was the drummer, and Ole Beich was on bass. That's a big difference.
