Great show tonight. Nothing new really, played Don’t Damn Me.

Seems like it’s going to be a really cool album, looking forward to it

It’s not really rock n roll to sit around watching YouTube videos and time stamping little inaccuracies. It’s also a bit bizarre to compare a video of Slash playing in his band, in their peak, in one of their career best performances to a quick cameo appearance at the Oscars where he flew in from Asia and probably had very limited time to actually prepare.

After 9 years of reunion, they’ve never written together. It’s clear that Axl has no intention of releasing anything other than those leftovers from 20 odd years ago.

He seems pretty content for a long time now to not really do anything other than tour which I guess funds his lifestyle. Hopefully he’s happy.

I kinda hate that Slash will have to eventually go back to Guns and all creativity comes to a halt But this is really cool. The SMKC stuff and the solo album/tour

Pretty cool song and looking forward to the album. It’s cool sometimes to just release a fun album that’s not too serious. Wish Axl would ever do something similar

They should have trolled us by getting Axl on a song just to do a few Hey Heys

Everyone knows the SD1 is much better than the TS9

SMKC is very rushed these days. They can only tour when Guns needs a break and the quality wasn’t really there on the last 2 albums. A lot of that is because they don’t have the time. I could see Slash at some point wanting to focus more on that.

I actually think Slash might leave. He seems so much happier with SMKC and they actually have more chemistry. Im sure he’d love to spend some more time at that. Or maybe doing other solo albums. Touring with Guns is probably cool and very profitable but it must get a bit boring with nothing new from night to night.

Slash has a third album since the reunion going to drop soon. If he’s dropping hints, Axl certainly doesn’t take them

Imagine if they’d kept Izzy on board and got Todd on vocals. That would have been a cool band. Probably not as mainstream as VR but cool!

Buckethead has lots of financial difficulties in the last few years. It would be really cool if Slash helped him get a pay check. One less yard sale to do

I’m the opposite. I have zero interest in any of the CD era material. Couldn’t be further from why I got into Guns.

They wouldn’t have been successful without Axl, just as they weren’t without Slash.

The sad thing is, I watched a bunch of videos from the last 2 SMKC shows and the band was really tight and Slash was awesome. But I guess most people here will just listen to that 30 second solo on Don’t Damn Me.

The whole Slash noodling thing is way, way, WAY overstated on here. I think he mainly stays very loyal to AFD material, ballads, the new Guns releases. It’s mainly the Illusions deep cuts where it stands out. I don’t know what he’s trying what those songs

As an album, it would be a pretty poor album that I wouldn’t really bother with.

Simplicity was the key to success. The original band were great. But things got so bloated and over the years that’s just gotten worse and worse and worse.

Funnily enough, what killed this band creatively was Axls obsession with public perception and mainstream etc. He wanted to be grunge, industrial, ballads, Nu metal etc, whatever was popular. Im pretty sure Slash, Duff and Matt etc were happy to just carry on as a hard rock band and they would have always had a following and integrity to their own fan base.
