  1. Whilst I agree it's not ideal, I disagree that songs like Hard Skool and Perhaps are beneath them. Just because they weren't released on CD it doesn't make them b-sides. Anybody who thinks Axl believed Scraped and If The World were more worthy songs than Hard Skool and Perhaps clearly needs their ears testing! Even Absurd is better than half of CD imho. I honestly believe Axl always wanted these songs released in some form. It's simply not true that Hard Skool and Perhaps are not up to scratch. You may not like the changes he made or the copy and paste job of inserting Slash and Duff over the original musicians, but as songs, they are definitely of GNR quality.
  2. What are you expecting exactly? Rock songs don't top the charts anymore, it's not 2001. Virtually every legendary rock band who've released new music in the last few years (Metallica, Foos, Ozzy, RHCP, Skid Row, Bon Jovi) have released singles which have come and gone in a flash. They release it for the fans, the days of it making a dent outside of the core fanbase are long gone, no matter how many music videos or TV appearances they do.
  3. You obviously don't remember who we're dealing with here. Most mllionaire rockstars don't log on to fanboards and call members "lesbian cunts", but Axl's not most millionaire rockstars.
  4. Not saying that it's coming tomorrow, but it doesn't always appear at the stroke of midnight on Spotify
  5. I'd bet my life savings on that. Best case scenario, we get a second one-off single this year, but probably not.
  6. So annoying seeing this thread busy, holding out for some news and it just being generic chitchat day after day. Can't we just agree to not to post in here until there's actually something newsworthy to discuss?
  7. I think the trouble is, a lot of fans have become used to Axl's voice. It's kinda like a form of stockholm syndrome at this stage.
  8. Absolutely this. It's baffling how Slash has lost his midas touch. Goes to show, experience doesn't always make you a better player. The Slash of today and the Slash of the 90s/early 00s are like two completely different people. He was twice the player in his 20s, 30s and 40s than he has been the last decade or so. I guess its hard for any musician to stay inspired and always be "in-the-zone", but he really does sound like he's lost sight of what made him so unique in the first place.
  9. Blah blah blah. Excuses from an Axl-apoligist is all I'm reading. If he wanted to release a new album, he would. End of.
  10. The reason these songs didn't materialise in 2022 like Slash said they would is because Axl didn't want to waste the rest of the songs by putting them out as one off singles or an EP, he wanted enough material to be worked on for an entire album. The plan is to release a single and perform it live on this tour, coinciding the single release with an announcement for the new album scheduled for fall of 2023. Then 2024 will be the tour in support of that album. Well, that's the dream anyway.
  11. I hear that, but it's only a passing resemblance and the song itself is completely different. Lame decision to make it a bonus track imo.
  12. Messages is the best song they ever did. How it didn't make the standard edition of Libertad is baffling, when it is far and away the strongest song on it.
  13. I think we already know the answer to that one.
  14. Fool me once - shame on you. Fool me twice - shame on me. Fool me 23 times - call me a GNR fan.
