state of grace is much better than perhaps... well at least it has the potential to be... the leak was rough as fuck but sounds much heavier and way less like whiney CD material

not gonna lie the video is a nice touch... not my favorite song but at least they did it right... hope the general is worth the wait

I loved Chinese Democracy from jump. I didn’t listen to the leaks a hell of a lot before the record dropped, so much of it was new to me. Blew me away. I still love it.
i dont dislike it... its ok but i was expecting to be blown away too and wasnt

its honnestly not that good... reminds me of CD how amped everyone was only for it to end up being mediocre... and it sounds like it is on CD, not a leftover

Whatever the cause of the delay has been, and it may be valid, Perhaps as a single song just ain’t worth it. It’s just not.
neither was absurd

In terms of releasing new music it is. I’ve never heard of a band dropping a song at a time that isn’t midnight in some timezone.
and GNR always do what other bands do right? lol

its not even that good of a song tbh... and its not new... i dont get the hype... to me it sounds like CD filler and slash will probably butcher it live like he did with better

It’s a good show I don’t understand complaints. A lot of 91-93 shows were shorter
well given that the last 5 times ive seen them i got a 3 and a half hour set i felt like i got short changed just a bit... throw in a pretty shitty opening act and well those ticket prices dont seem so justified anymore

how long was the show?
between 2 and a half and 3 hours... they went on at 830 and i didnt check the time when it ended... others were saying 11:20 but the curfew was 11 so im thinking more 2 and a half hours

I understand completely your frustration. In other Places they sing for 3 plus hours. And here less than that. You spend money, etc for a subpar experience. Maybe I'm pissed for the Perhaps fiasco...jaja
yeah i didnt expect them to play perhaps... reading on here that they soundchecked it got my hopes up a bit but i shoulda known better... woulda been nice to make up for the late start but wtv... performance wasnt subpar tbh... axl had a little less power than last time i saw them but that was expected... was really just the short set and shitty venue that pissed me off... probably both beyond the bands control
what the band could do is write new music tho... thats totally on them
-
im just glad i didnt drive 6 hours from outta town like some ppl did
-
to be fair there was a risk of thunderstorms and some dark clouds rolling in... idk... but probably just axl being axl... hell if i had a chance to cut my work shift by 30 mins id do it too lol

I feel like, had I gone as intended, I would have ended up feeling the same way as you so maybe I'm not as sorry I missed it as I thought I would be.
it wasnt worth the price of the ticket tbh... did i have a good time? sure... kinda hard to pass up seeing my favorite band when theyre playing so close to home but there were more negatives than postives
i wont see them at that venue again... was hell to get in and out of... maybe id go back if they play arenas again but i doubt thatll happen... id probably just get some nosebleeds if they ever did
lots of first timers there so i mean they probably loved it, but as a diehard, i coulda passed this one up... tbh i had a better time at the 2013 ucap gig without slash and duff 🤷♂️

The "short" set definitely doesn't help us diehards... was it full? What was the general reaction from others after PC finished up?
was pretty full... they let GA ppl into the pit for free to fill it up, otherwise there woulda been a huge gap... general reaction was pretty positive... i dont think many ppl knew they cut it short... i mean it was still a 3 hour show or pretty damn close

Why?
the short set... idk maybe i overreacted a bit but when i heard PC right after nightrain i was pretty pissed... i saw it coming when they got on late tho
all in all they put on a decent show... band was tight, axl seemed to be in a good mood and the energy was there... couple mickey moments but less than id expected
also probably the last time ill ever see them live again which added to my frustration a bit... oh and the venue was shit
