  1. He did not say this. He said they'd be free to work on a new record, obviously voicing what he hopes would happen. This is different than saying he and Axl have a plan to work on a new album after the tour.
  2. To me the idea of a brand new album was delusional long before Slash confirmed anything. Axl is done creatively and has been for well over a decade and anyone expecting him to write new lyrics to new Slash riffs is kidding themselves.
  3. Agree on a brand new album not happening. As for a new album of reworked CD, if Slash is correct on the amount he worked on than there's not enough material done for a full album. Then again, some albums used to be that short, Rainbow Rising is only six tracks. But I don't know if that would be considered a full album nowadays.
  4. Not really, not in the sense that he can make Axl write new music if he isn't inspired to do so. Axl has talked about having writers block back in the 90s when Slash and Duff were in the band. If he's not feeling it, he's not feeling it.
  5. Yes, in 2018. Then he confirms years later nothing has become of it. Slash can write all the music he wants, it doesn't make a difference if Axl isn't interested.
  6. "Well, I mean, I want to go in and cut a whole brand new record at some point, probably sooner than later. But other than that, we have stuff that we still got to come out, so that’s gonna be coming out piecemeal over the next… I don’t know, over the next few months or something like that. So that’s basically it. We have one more tour left to do next summer, and then that will free us up to be able to go in and work on a new record. So, you know, I’ll keep you posted." Seems more it's something Slash is personally hoping will happen, rather than something the band has decided on doing.
  7. My questions on the Hard Skool mix are these: 1.Why would Axl approve of his voice being buried in the mix? I suppose there's a chance he liked the "echoey" effect it had, but still... 2.Why did Axl approve of Melissa's keyboards being buried so far in the mix? Obviously he commissioned her to add them, but you can barely hear them. Considering that most people in their 60s (especially those who perform loud music for a living) have weaker hearing it's hard to imagine he could hear them at all.
  8. Yeah I think there were certain songs like Oklahoma that Axl may have had ideas for in his head but probably never actually recorded.
  9. It does not sound similar enough to the Oklahoma outro to say with certainty that it is. There is maybe a vague similarity but none of the same music is playing.
  10. The rehearsal that sounds like The General is mysterious soundcheck song #2, not #1, I believe.
  11. Axl said he wrote a song about child abuse in the 2001 Argentina interview where he revealed the PRL title. Of course Brain had just entered the band a few months prior and I think he said he didn't even meet Axl until 2001. He mentioned Axl asking him about the title The General, so it would appear the song about child abuse was written prior to the instrumental that Brain wrote. But it's certainly possible that Axl took the lyrics and melodies and then superimposed them into the instrumental of The General. In the China exchange he said he prefers to write lyrics and melody first.
  12. Some of the lyrics Evader came up with seem to fit perfectly. Some of them I can't even hear Axl singing anything in said parts like the "Now I rest my head my hate in the rumors that their pushing through" line. Other parts like the second half of the chorus, I don't think it sounds like Axl is singing different lines like "who wants to lose" or "up to abuse", it just sounds like he's singing "who would do that to you" on repeat.
  13. The chords playing in the rehearsal clip that everyone kept insisting was Oklahoma did sound kind of like the beat of The General we've heard from the intro and the cellphone clip. I think @sofine11 pointed this out at the time.
  14. Was Rocket Queen really that bad today? I missed that part of the stream.
  15. The Last Fight is incredible.
  16. I've listened to that soundcheck and the end of Oklahoma back to back multiple times and I still think it's a huge reach to say that they even sound that similar. Maybe vaguely similar.
  17. I wish they were slightly higher in the mix though. Could really have given the verses a more melancholy feel in contrast to the aggressive chorus if Caram had utilized them properly.
  18. Oklahoma and Riad were alternates on the HOB 2001 setlist. Some fans speculated the two were the same song for years, including the one that asked Axl the question about it in the chats. Hate to be a Pele, but while Axl may have had a song formed in his head for Oklahoma, I don't think he ever got around to recording vocals for it, sort of like the "bitch like you" version of Silkworms.
  19. Production issues aside, the BBF OMG is far inferior to the 1999 version. Considering with Absurd Slash just took the BBF version and added a few fills here and there, if that's the direction they're taking I think they should just leave well enough alone.
  20. One of the documents that MSL allegedly got from Axl's laptop was dated late 2009 and was titled something like "everyone wants Tommy out and Duff wants back in". Also, in the leaks in 2019 there was a pdf document going around that allegedly said Duff temporarily replaced Tommy in early 2006 but couldn't learn the CD songs fast enough. I never read it.
  21. While Axl called OMG a demo in 2008 I don't think it was actually intended as one when it was released in 1999. I think he was expecting the song to be a radio hit and and when it wasn't he tried to distance himself from it.
  22. So it looks like Atlas/Perhaps is indeed the next combo. Then probably OMG 2 and some other track. I really like SOG but I get the feeling it was dropped. Tommy bought the rights back to Going Down and Ten Percenter so it's not Going Down.
