I dunno why the Bucket solo is hidden there but it has been talked about before on here!
As for Bumble's solo, nowhere near his best work (check out Dash or something for that) but it's a lot of chaotic fun. Hearing it around the time when I was a teen discovering rock music was great.

Mix is quite rough. Sounds like being in the audience in that sense... I like how you can hear all the mistakes clearly tho

Wow, two short-tempered frontmen with weird singing voices at one gig. That's pretty cool.
I would love nothing more than a Billy / Slash guitar battle.

Another one. I enjoyed this one.
It is a good song, really like how it sounds.
The vocal line "all right now" in the beginning sounds like it was sampled from Sweet Leaf lol. Or more like, they are desperately trying to evoke that nostalgia.
The autotune makes this thoroughly unenjoyable.

November Rain. I was like 15. It was 2007 or something, I was chatting about music with my friend on MSN Messenger and he linked me the NR video on YouTube.
Obviously the video is cheesy as fuck, but that Slash solo outside the church though...
Couple of months later, I bought my first guitar from that same friend

Complete bullshit, I'm not one to usually call out bands for being "sellouts" but I think this really re-defines the meaning of that word...

That's a nice podcast idea for Marshall.
Good marketing to start with such a high-profile guest, so that the audience will subscribe to the show (I know I will). Hope they get some more legends on the show too!

Yeah I think he's playing better than ever. Getting off the drugs really was a good idea

Hahaha, no.
This is bordering on parody.
Trent’s lyrics switch between an autobiographical and detached first person present to a passionate, direct second person and comment on addiction, suicide, women, and capitalism. Axl’s dabbled in these topics but never with too much grit or a level of accompanying romanticism.
Axl’s lyrics are abstract, passive, and in a word: dramatic. He’s never met a metaphor he didn’t like. Instead of focusing on narrative, Trent is forensic and rarely poetic. The music is equally as brash.
Trent’s arrangements show a greater level of discipline but also a greater level of rigidness. He started to loosen up a bit when he got into the poppier Year Zero and With Teeth but the structure is let a loop/sequence play out and when it starts to get old change the key or switch directions.
For all Axl’s pretense about getting into new and/or industrial territory, none of the songs are based around loops and always have the same structure. Overdone intro, verses, chorus, verse, bridge, chorus, outro with elements of intro. It’s one reason why I found “Oh My God” so refreshing. First-person, direct, heavy, a bit different and way different from the CD song structures.
Nine Inch Nails songs are vocals high in the mix, drumbeat heavy, and washes of electronica. Guitar functions as a pure tone or tone enhancer. In AFD they’re set pieces, Chinese set pieces or orchestral.
In short, “Oh My God” is the only one I’ll accept but still, eh, not really. It’s Axl doing industrial. The rest of the songs? Not even close to NIN.
Yeah, the whole comparison between GN'R and NIN is a big meme.

I hadnt heard that song - and i love it! Thanks for turning me on to it! And the video... I have no words for that video. Its great to be introduced to a great 'new to me' band
I also highly recommend seeing them live if you can, they are really wild and have 2 drummers and 3 guitarists. It's fun as hell

Cool video. Listening now, there is also some good GNR talk that begins at around 16:45
But during the Q&A he expertly sidesteps giving a direct answer about a new GNR album with this golden statement - "Like I don't...I don't wanna necessarily see Mick Jagger practicing his dance moves, y'know??
Totally, that was such a ridiculous answer lol.
BTW, about your signature, have you heard the latest record from King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard? There's a song there called "Planet B". (They're the best rock n' roll band out there today)

Sorry if this was already posted, I did not find it.
Audience Q&A opens up at 27:45. Includes questions about Chinese Democracy, possibility of new record etc.

you have
you have better, rhiad, silkworms, chinese democracy and OMG that have their obvious industrial roots.
To me, industrial implies repetitive looping harsh riffs, etc. Silkworms and OMG, I guess, but I think the rest are just overproduced hard rock with orchestral elements or something! The album Chinese Democracy sounds more like Muse than industrial rock/metal (to me).
ut I think this track comes the closest due to the distorted bass and drum loop thing. Someone mentioned Ava Adore by The Smashing Pumpkins and I think that's a good comparison!

I think this is perhaps the only Chinese Democracy era song that actually sounds "industrial". Nice one

I already did that. I wont post any links, but if you want I can send my IG post with me playing the song. Of course, I did in less than 24 hours after it leaked, and I still needed to learn a lot of the stuff in the break and in the outro, but still...
Sure, please PM!
All I have access to right now is a crusty Telecaster, gotta have humbuckers to do GN'R...

After years of listening to the first verse, I feel oddly satisfied knowing how the rest of the song goes now.
I'm confident this would dominate modern rock charts.
Some of the more calm parts remind me of The Smashing Pumpkins.
I started playing guitar when CD came out and I can now almost play a few of the Bucket and Bumblefoot solos. I will try to learn this song by ear

Oh man that old GNR website brings back some memories. I remember sitting in front of the computer with my brother and listening to the newly released album on the GNR Myspace like it's yesterday

Very cool! Does this mean Robin is getting some songwriting credits? I havent followed too closely for a while now, but always wondered what it felt like for Finck to have been there all this time and then Ross and Alejandro(?) show up as co writers.
Nah, only Trent and Atticus are on the album. Robin is not involved there, Trent actually sings those parts of that song on the album
The link seems to be down but here's another
In case that link is taken down, search for "NIN Mad Cool Festival Madrid"

Anyone who can, go see him. His health isn't that great and he's unsure of how long he'll be able to continue

Axl might have been heavily into NIN at the time, as evidenced by his recruitment choices, but I do not understand the argument that CD sounds like NIN because it really does not. For example, which Robin Finck guitar parts sound like NIN guitars? None. Which songs are structured like NIN songs? None really, because there are guitar solos and stuff.
CD sounds more like Muse or something with all the Marco Beltrami orchestras instead of NIN.

Fuck me, never thought they would do THIS for the first new song with Slash and Duff. Having those guys playing on unreleased Chinese Democracy studio tracks is so perverse and I'm all for it. CD2 starts now
