    complain, whine, bitch....

I really do not understand why anybody would be unhappy to see his favorite singer (well at least should be in a Guns fan forum, not so sure though actually), to take a once in a lifetime chance to tour with the second biggest rock band on the planet (I guess only the Stones are bigger). Also it is not like the reunion would be a flop because of this (absolutely no logic behind that anyways....): The reunion tour is going great so far, I think Axl sounds pretty good, everybody in the band seems to have a good time.

Well except for some "fans"....Adler is not there, Slash will cry and get upset because of Angus, it is all Axl`s fault that Izzy does not want to tour, Frank is the worst drummer on the planet, Guns should only play club venues, 26 stadium (!!!?) shows are not enough, the bad press gives AC/DC more attention than the Guns reunion (what do you want to do? there was decent news coverage about the Guns reunion, but AC/DC just is the much bigger band nowadays), Axl will ruin his voice by singing (seriously?? he is a SINGER, that is what he does for a living!?), because of these 20 dates there will be never be no new guns album ever, Axl will fail miserably, Axl does not look like he looks on the poster in my room from 1989 anymore, Axl just broke his foot to get out of this reunion, everything is bad and can only get worse...

I mean what is wrong with you people? This is the most exciting year in Guns history in the past 20 years and half the forum still complains...

While I have a little more understanding for the AC/DC fans complaining, because that band is really dissolving rapidly, I do also do understand Angus. AC/DC has always been much bigger than the individual members (except for Angus) and if he wants to finish their last tour and give a million fans the opportunity to say goodbye. And if Angus can do it with a bang by signing one of the biggest names in rock, what the f.... is wrong with that?

    Bigger doesnt mean talented

Just ignore jerks like him who think "technical" playing is better or comparable at all to what Slash does, these people are comparing a 40 year old mans guitar playing to a 21 year old Slash on Appetite For Destruction, they act like he never progressed as a guitar player in 30 years, never mind the man is now 50 and is a billion times better a guitarist. The most important technique any guitarist can possess is one Mr Saul Hudson (aka SLASH) uses is and is the best at: provoking feeling in the soul, and however the fuck he does it needs no explanation, that is the most important musical element is speaking to the soul, and if Bumblefoot was so good at it most people would actually know who he is in the Rock community prior & after his involvement in Guns N Roses.

As a guitarist myself, I CAN do sweep picking & tapping techniques both of which Slash is not big on doing, not because he can't but because they are boring as fuck techniques and I see why he doesn't do them, they get old fast after the few seconds of gimmick worthy pleasure they give the guitarist doing them, because they certainly don't do shit for the listener. These same techniques are why listening to Avenged Sevenfold and Zakk Wylde get boring VERY fast, because people like Synyster Gates & Zakk Wylde take one technique that's hard for your average player to do and play the shit out of it until it becomes easy (Synysters Sweep Picking & Zakks Harmonic Squeals), and in every songs solo that's all you hear. I like certain things Zakk and Synyster have done, but they are one trick ponies and bore me to tears after a few songs. Great vibrato and composing notes that come alive to the listener is either in the soul of the guitarist or its not, and Slash will hit you with an eargasm every time. Something Slash has that few guitarists have that's NEVER talked about is his amazing stamina & speed while doing consecutive bends & fast vibrato, anyone can play fast if you don't actually have to use any finger muscle...Slash can bend, vibrato & legato like a mad man!.

My point is I can play these techniques that some would call "technical playing" and employ them properly, by and large they bore me and to do them all the time or at all if the song doesn't call for it doesn't make sense, Slash always plays to suit the band & song and just because he doesn't use a technique doesn't mean he can't.

Shredding does not mean souless, if this was a slash song you'd all be cuming trough your mouths

  3. I enjoy film making as a hobby so i created this facebook page called Junkyard Hounds where i'll post all my future (and past) short films.

I'm self taught so the only two short films i've made so far are kind of crappy but i not only intend to get better but i've also upgraded my gear recently and i'm currently working on my first feature.

Anyways, here's my page and work.

My best short film so far was one of the 21 finalists at a short film competition held at a portuguese horror festival.

  4. There's no room for CD songs here or at any of the other potential shows that may come later. Axl, Slash and Duff have collectively written and recorded more than enough of their own material to put on an amazing show. Guns has been a cover band for a really long time now, I honestly hope that Slash and Duff didn't sign up to do the same thing that their no name session replacements were willing to do just for a paycheck.

While what you say might be true, it's just that I'd be interrested in hearing Slash and Duff playing the songs. Maybe they'd change them up a bit. Put their feel to it. Then again, it would be pretty sweet if they only played old stuff!

I can understand that fans who have taken the time to follow the band on a message board would most likely enjoy hearing some CD songs, but much like how it went down at nuGNR shows, the majority of people who go to the concerts just don't know or care about them. It doesn't matter how much a dozen posters or so here love SOD or Better or Shacklers, those songs only managed to bring down the momentum of the shows. The most enthusiastic response from the crowd was always, always, for the classic tunes. And for good reason.

I just think it would be a huge waste of precious time, when you finally have Slash, Duff and Axl performing together on the same stage again after more than 20 years, to play sub-par bargain bin material that most casual fans don't give a rats ass about. Their back catalog is what propelled them to legendary status, it's what we still hear played on the radio daily, and it's the only reason why Axl was even able to take the name and continue to tour under it years after they broke up.

People talk to me about Guns all the time because they know I'm a fan and I've gone to so many shows, and I've never once had someone say to me irl they hope those 5 guys get back together again so they can hear them play CD tunes. It's just not reality for the outside world beyond this website.

Sub par ? LOL you seem to understand much about music then.

Popularity as nothing to do with quality. People love to hear what they already now, just like people love to pay for shit movies already made before (Force awakens for one) but that doesn't mean the product itself is any good or better than the less known songs or films.

CD even with all it's problems is an amazing piece of work. Any non biased good musician can tell you that.

  5. Dj definitely knew. Bumble wanted to leave the band for quite some time, hell he confirmed to me that he had left the band way before the rumors about his departure started.

Perhaps the possible reunion was the final nail on the coffin for Bumble. He always expressed interest in going forward but he kept around hoping that Axl would get his act together and work on some new shit, maybe he heard talks of a reunion and realized the next step was back and not forward so he quit or maybe he just had enough. Don't know, don't care.

    Just my two cents.

  6. I don't want to piss anyone off but as someone who has been a hardcore supporter of Axl's dream and vision for the past nearly two decades since the old band broke up I feel bummed out and frankly betrayed right now. And no, that isn't hyperbole.

I wouldn't be surprised if we don't even get much of an explanation as to why he's doing this after everything he's said over the years. It would take literally hours to read through a list of all the quotes/statements/rants by Axl about why this would never happen unless Slash publicly apologized for all the lies and legal crap etc. Moreover, we've been told time and again that he's all about musical integrity and wanted to write and perform all this new stuff. He didn't even want to "jerk off" by just playing Appetite every night back in 1992.

In some ways, the biggest high for me was when Rio/Lisboa 2004 was announced and I put my fist through the ceiling after booking tickets to see Axl, Bucket, Robin and Brain and the whole New Guns dream was 100% alive with multiple albums on the horizon and future shows focusing on new music. This announcement makes me feel the complete opposite.

On a positive note, hopefully some compromises and agreements will have been reached with "the biz" and the returning members to allow Axl to release the vault material and hopefully Bucket and Robin's stuff will have been left well alone.

Duff convinced Axl to open up with YCBM a few years ago. Hopefully he and Slash will ignite some of his old fire and inspire the sets to be more fluid and adventurous. And, just maybe, we'll get an Axl with the kind of attitude he had in '06-'10 rather than '11-'14.

But honestly, unless he is prepared to give a pretty comprehensive explanation and tell us this is going to be more than a greatest hits thing then I can't get on board.

Of course, he doesn't "owe" us an explanation. But then he didn't owe anyone their own happy ending and all the people who have shat on him, Chinese and the Chinese line-up are all getting their happy ending.

I feel sorry for you man, I'm sorry Axl crushed your dreams, but if its any consolation, he's made many many many more peoples dreams come true and made them happier with this announcement including myself and for that I am NOT sorry.

Please don't take any offense to this, but I think you're living in a dream world feeling like you're owed even though you said you understood he didn't owe you a happy ending, deep down you feel you are owed that and that's understandable, but put it this way, theres a reason why music never got done with ANY of the Chinese Democracy (NuGNR if you prefer) line ups, that reason is because you CANNOT buy chemistry between band members no matter how hard you try. Lets face it, Axl Rose with these virtuoso guitarists that only care about massaging their own ego with some of this crap they've put on records is really off putting to the rest of the band he's had, 3 guitarists in a band is like going on a date with a hot chick and her ex boy friend, theres going to be a pissing contest for sure and none of those 3 people are going to be happy, its the 3rd wheel syndrome and it isn't cohesive to writing a song or being inspired.

I'll bet more than a few times through the late 90s, 00s & 10s Axl probably said to himself on those long lonely nights in the studio "That Fucking Slash, why does he have to be such a dick, we could be making music and eating Taco Bell!" But since Axl is such a bullhead he was determined to make Lemonade out of the bitter lemons he had.

Axl didn't have to try to be good when the old band was with him and them as well, their souls just automatically created music together. The NuGNR could have released tons of music and I refuse to believe that Axl is that foolish to take so long to create a fuckin' record, he may have been a perfectionist, but he did record 5 records within 7 years and that's even with jacking off on the Illusions albums and creating his own synth symphony by hand. I don't think Axl ever felt the guys in NuGNR were a real band or a cohesive band hence why barely any music was released in 20 years.

They were all good musicians in NuGNR they just weren't a real band and they didn't gell with eachother, which is why I'm not quite following why you're so sad about the discombobulated music not being released.

You sheep do love them sellouts.

  7. I don't understand why people are upset, what the hell is wrong with the wording ??

Founder Axl Rose and former members Slash and Duff McKagan will regroup to headline the Coachella Music

Axl Rose is a FOUNDING member while Slash and Duff aren't. Axl Rose never left the band while Slash and Duff did.

They're now regrouping/reforming/reuniting to play at Coachella.

It's not like it says Slash and Duff have joined Axl's band!

If the wording was "Founding members Slash and Duff reunite with Axl Rose" everyone would be pissed off about how they aren't founding members... It was always Axl's band since before they joined him in the first place.
