  1. I’m Just Ken is the front runner for the best song Oscar, sir!! It also features Slash and Josh Freese. Fun fact..Mike Clink was the producer on Slash’s part. Would be cool if he works more with Slash/GNR on upcoming projects. Also Perhaps is now over 3 million on YouTube after exactly 2 weeks.
  2. Meanwhile, new song-titles registered in the performing rights organization ASCAP’s database suggest that tracks on the album will include: ‘Angry’ ‘Bite my Head Off’ ‘Depending on You’ ‘Dreamy Skies’ ‘Driving me Too Hard’ ‘Get Close’ ‘Live by the Sword’ ‘Mess it Up’ ‘Morning Joe Cues’ ‘Sweet Sounds of Heaven’ ‘Tell me Straight’ ‘Whole Wide World’ ‘Angry’, ‘Depending On You’ and ‘Get Close’ also credit Andrew Watt, the 2021 Grammy producer of the year who has collaborated extensively with Ozzy Osbourne over recent years. ‘Hackney Diamonds’ will be the first Rolling Stones album of original material since ‘A Bigger Bang’ in 2005. It will feature a collaboration with Paul McCartney and a guest appearance from former Stones bassist Bill Wyman.
  3. Correct. Another apparent little fun fact, both songs that he was credited on (original versions predate GNR) were the subject of a lawsuit by Chris Weber: Weber claimed to have co-written "Shadow of Your Love" (appears as a b-side on various releases, released as a single in 2018) and "Back Off Bitch" (from Use Your Illusion I), suing the band over songwriting credits, although the case was settled and Weber did not receive songwriting credits.
  4. It doesn’t make sense? Don’t be obtuse. Slash, Duff and Matt all strongly disliked this guy that was forced upon them. Forced upon them btw in a douchey way during a chaotic time. They tried to work with him to be good sports. They ending up detesting him even more and Axl was too dumb or too egomaniacal to realize what was going to happen. What happened? Slash, Matt and then Duff all left the band. Guns N Roses as most people knew it or would accept it was now over for the next 20 years. I mean it’s Axl’s fault at the end of the day, but saying Paul the Pawn brought down GNR makes a lot of sense imo.
  5. I get the feeling Axl’s crew doesn’t interface with the media that well and may have some conditions that the media doesn’t like. Could explain why there weren’t many reviews of the shows in Chicago, NY/NJ, Nashville, etc. I think a Billboard review of the MetLife show was the only one for those dates.
  6. 14 days between the legs. Most of the shows are also 3 days apart which seems like it would be a good amount of rest in between.
  7. Agree on most, but Axl should’ve never fired Gilby and brought in Paul the way he did. He could’ve helped Axl write on their own, but to act like this dude was going to also replace Gilby as part of the band was an incredibly unprofessional move.
  8. Do we even know what his contributions actually were? Also saying they’re playing his songs is a stretch. Paul may have been around when they were created but his percentage isn’t very high on most of the CD songs. Slash and Duff are making more than him on Hard Skool and I don’t think he’s making anything for Absurd.
  9. I agree most of that blame is Axl’s fault. What did the new GNR members think of him personally and/or his writing abilities?
  10. I think retiring is extreme, but I would say don’t tour again until you’ve got a new album and have overhauled the set list/singing strategy to songs that can sound good live. Not just parts of songs, the whole song should be able to sound good.
  11. Well many would say his inclusion brought down one of the world’s biggest bands. A singer forcing his hometown buddy on an already hugely (pun intended) successful band is pretty f’ing amateurish. Dude had barely ever even played live before and you’re gonna act like he can step into this and make this decision all alone because of your insecurities. Also the guy is apparently pretty unlikable…So stupid now that I’m thinking about it again. This quote from Duff says it all: [Axl] had hired his best friend for the band. I couldn't play with him. Paul Huge, that was the guy! He's a friend of Axl, he's a 'yes man.' [...] Man, you can't be in Guns N' Roses just like that. That was a real band. [...] Well, imagine you and I grow up together and you're my best friend. OK, I'm in Guns N' Roses and I tell the rest you're going to join the band. "OK, Slash, Axl, Matt, guys, this guy is in the band". "Duff, you got a minute?" "No, he's in the band" "Well, no. Everyone in the band has to vote it, Duff, so no way!" "Fuck you, this guy is in the band! I'm not doing anything unless this guy is in the band" "OK, you know what? We'll try and play with him, since you're that much interested in it. Hey Duff, the guy can't play" "I don't care" "Well that's not very reasonable." "I don't care". At that point, what would you do? I came to a point where I couldn't even look at [Paul Huge]. If I were in such a situation, if I were the friend joining the band, I'd say "Hey guys, you've done very good yourselves alone, I'm not going any further. Hey, Duff, thanks for the offer, but I'm breaking your band." But he didn't say it.”
  12. Seems to me like he was brought in because Axl wanted someone to kind of be his new Izzy, but this time one that he could control and would always be on his “side.” A lot of jockeying for position was going on back then.
  13. Also the band may want to consider letting in news photographers to these shows. Otherwise they’ll use 2019 photos of Axl like they did in that review.
  14. Gotta say this review is basically where I’m at. Still thrills but the cutting in and out of Axl’s voice is unfortunate.
  15. On account of this lame ass thread, I’m going home.
  16. #15 now on this Active Rock chart. Moving in the right direction. https://hitsdd.section101.com/mediabase_chart_details&fmt=R2
  17. In demand shows don’t have highly reduced ticket prices or tickets basically given away. The prices would actually be considerably higher than face value. Not saying these shows haven’t ended up with decent attendance, but a lot of money was left on the table to get there.
  18. Yes, he wore the fake hair in an attempt to look cool. Which is odd because apparently only buttrock dudes like Slash and Izzy do that. Axl just naturally evolves 🤔
  19. The dude is wearing a rug on his f’ing head. That isn’t his real hairline. I just wish for you that he could’ve evolved naturally and not kept trying to be cool. It’s so boring.
  20. You can if what you’re wearing isn’t only your hair, Einstein. Axl should’ve just evolved as you say and owned the bald look. Unfortunately he let your standards down and went fake.
  21. Regarding radio, it’s currently at #21 after a week. Will be interesting to see where it goes from here. https://hitsdd.section101.com/mediabase_chart_details&fmt=R2
  22. Haha, absurd. Axl was literally the “boring” person you’re describing above. He wore cornrows because he was going bald and thought that option looked cooler. He was chasing musical fads during the whole creation of CD. Guy wanted to be NIN so bad he was literally hiring people from their camp. Why? Because he wanted to seem cool/trendy/hip. He’s no better/different than the other guys in the band…he just had a different idea of what was “cool.”
  23. It looks like they’re all color coordinated as well. Hopefully it’s for a new album.
