  1. But I preordered when it first dropped and just got the email. Despite what the site still says, it’s been delayed. Soon is NOT the word.
  2. Where is the confusion, at least for fans here in the states? When I preordered my Perhaps vinyl, it said it will be shipped on Oct. 27, 2023. I don’t expect an email confirmation till tomorrow, and if I don’t get one, I wouldn’t be surprised that “plans changed.” But regardless, that means I should get another email stating it’s delayed. I was hoping “The General” would drop on Spotify on Friday as well. But to quote a band that actually does release new music, The Menzingers, “They say hope is a dangerous, dangerous little thing.”
  3. I’m gonna laugh so hard if this vinyl arrives and the song isn’t on Spotify. I will 100 percent purchase a turntable. Meaning I will be out upwards of at least $100 in total just to listen to one song.
  4. LOL funny so many last-minute orders. I preordered immediately because I enjoy wasting money. I would have done it with or without "The General" too. If this band releases music, I will buy the physical media. I won't purchase toy trucks. However ... lowkey want a magic 8-ball.
  5. Yeah ... listening to some soundcheck or whatever he was doing. My point stands. Axl isn't tormented by Slash "ruining" his vaulted material by recording over Buckethead and Finck. That's such a ridiculous notion. The guy literally couldn't be bothered to record new "hey, heys" for the bridge in "Hard Skool" so they went back and lifted them from "Eye on You."
  6. There wasn't any proof "Perhaps" was coming either. They have not promoted ANY new single prior to dropping it on digital streamers. Yeah, we found the link for "Perhaps" on their link tree thing, and the countdown. That was all removed. Then the song still showed up. We know "The General" is shipping on vinyl. That's enough evidence it's gonna drop at some point on streaming sites.
  7. Yeah, so painful for Axl. The guy who hoards his music, doesn't release it, and no longer seems to want to work in a studio at all. It must be sooooo painful for poor Axl.
  8. Did we ever find out the identity of the mystery person who casually dropped “Sorry” lyrics in this forum well before the album dropped?
  9. “The General (Monstrosity)” would be a cool name. “The General” is fine. “The General and Monsters” is as silly as “Skool” and the way they spell absurd. Why, GNR? Why?
  10. Yes, in an ideal world we’d get “Atlas” and another song, then a full album with 10 or 12 tracks we’ve never heard. But this is GNR. So it’ll be “The General,” then nothing. 🤔
  11. Hell yeah. Can’t wait for this to drop. So Brain on drums on this one too then? After “The General,” it’ll be another long, sad drought in GNR-land.
  12. “I Just Don’t Know” would have made an excellent GNR slow “ballad.” It’s infuriating Axl just has no interest in collaborating and getting in studio to create new material. The song even has a little solo spot.
  13. Tenderness show date in Chicago was fantastic. Really intimate venue (Thalia Hall) and I was up front for it. Shooter and the band were great too. I like that record.
  14. The weeping guitars in the verses give the demo a haunting feeling. I like them a lot, but when I compare it to the studio release, the cacophony of sound in the locker leak is a little messy. There is too much going on underneath. It's like the guitar riffs are battling against Axl rather than complementing him. It sounds dope in the lyrical breaks. For example, in the first verse, I love the guitars after "now he is no more" and "like I was before." I loved the locker leak, and I still love parts of it, but the studio version is more preferable to me, including Slash's solo. I love that they kept in that initial bend, then another one underneath Slash's solo. "Perhaps" in its current form sounds more classic GNR with Slash's and Duff's parts.
  15. You guys are vicious. These promo interviews that Duff and Slash do are puff pieces. They're just vehicles to promote new records and tours. We're not gonna get any juicy information on GNR's plans. There are no concrete plans save for tour dates anyway.
  16. You guys, I'm back to being bored again. I loved everything about the "Perhaps" release and I'm happy "The General" is coming. The set lists on the current leg of the never-ending tour have been fun. But are we ever gonna hear news of an actual record? They're about to end the tour and go on hiatus again while Slash and I assume Duff tour their other projects. "The General" will bring back some excitement for sure. That can get me through the end of the year. lol
