I'm not sure why people assume Amy's "statement" was a reflection of Axl's feelings. It doesn't prove he was upset or that he even cared.
And didn't she delete it pretty quickly, anyway?
Yes she did.
So i guess new un seen photo's might show up soon. Possibly in book(s), or magazine(s). Can the buyer make money from these photo's by allowing magazines (assuming they are interested) to use them, either by way of print or online.
No, they own the item, not the copyright.
I guess the photographer owns the copyright.

There's nothing iconic about the photo with 8 guys in it. Looks like one for the photo album.

Night Train whistle and Mickey Mouse watch? $500.
If those items arrived in my post box, i would feel depressed, very depressed. Not so much at the items, but the money paid for them.

One word: 'integrity'
BF seems torn..
On one side there's pre GN'R BF. The BF that few if any of us knew of. The same BF who, if he quits on Axl, can return back to where he came from, a world of obscurity, possibly a happier place.
On the other side, there's GN'R, a situation that continually appears to push BF's integrity to places he don't seem happy to visit. Maybe it's for the '$' or maybe it's for the exposure, attention. The longer BF stays with Axl, the more BF will be destroyed. For the moment, it is probably biggest mountain he will ever be on top of, not that the top is as high as Slash era GN'R.
I guess GN'R is Axl's destruction of all those around him. A monster Dragon of epic proportions that consumes and spits out all those that dare go near it.

Erin Everly owns the stuff. Its her's do with what she wishes. End of. Don't be so anti Erin, just because you're an Axl obessed individual. She seem's to be in the same camp as Slash, ie an ex of Axl of which there's seems to be many. Funny that ;P

Ill give it to Axl...hes briliant..Write a half a dozen songs that make the top 20...hit it hard while your still young... and then coast along for the rest of your life on those songs. Use your people like they were toys...
i want to Spit in the face of the next fucker that says "oh Axls a true artist" he has his hired hands.. uses them like pool boys and gardeners..sells you all the idea that GNR is still around, alive and relevant and you lick it up like its wet pussy!
is there really any excuse why there isnt 5 albums out by now? is there really any excuse why there isnt more GNR than ever was???
If Ron cant get a hold of the big plan its probably because dysfunctional has no plan. And all you Slash haters should change your tune.. because this is WHY the others decided to go their seperate ways... its called Axls Work Ethic or the lack there of.
I guess that's Buckethead and Slash quit, because they are artists, that like creating new material and performing it live. Axl on the other hand, it's all ego trip, and reality is, he seems to struggle living up to his past and hasn't penned a hit in years. Didn't Izzy pen the hits anyway?
Take a look at HTDGTH, they may as well call that place the Dead Zone..

If Axl's worth so much, why did he struggle to pay for a painting? why does he least cars and return them damaged? why does he need a record deal? when it could fund his own releases?
On that last one, maybe he don't want to risk his own money

I visited www.gunsnroses.com today.. I thought OMG! - He's back!
..but it was just a video.

Oh Lawdy! This is beyond lame."We were supposed to tour We had this tour [booked for my solo project] in January/February that I changed for GUNS stuff in December and January and then that stuff got canceled. And all the changes were for nothing, and the changes came at a very big loss. And it also came at a detriment to my name. It's, like, you book something with booking agents and promoters, and their biggest concern is that you're gonna cancel because GUNS is gonna book something, and then you do that, they're gonna be very reluctant to wanna book again, 'cause they're worried about the same thing happening. So I can't let that happen anymore. So I'm in a situation now
Maybe William's botox didn't work out, or the new haircut, or maybe Axl's put on the pounds.

It is stupid having Axl and a bunch of hired hands, and calling it Guns N'Roses. At the end of the day, it's just a name, and Axl owns it, and uses it to push his sound. We all know it's not Guns N'Roses, and that's all there is to it. For whatever reason, Axl feels that he cannot release music unless it is labeled Guns N'Roses. It is a disservice to to Slash, Duff, Izzy Adler. There's nothing we can do about. Axl must see himself as Guns N'Roses, although album sales speak volumes, as does radio airplay. I'll stop already.

Axl has nothing booked, but that could all change in a weeks time. I guess that's why Buckethead and Robin quit, all the never knowing.

I keep seeing this pop up over and over and it's irritating because it's so misunderstood.
People actually think that was a cold hearted dig at Slash's mom? They actually think he was even talking about the physical disease?
"A cancer" is something you can use to describe anything that you view as an unwanted, unnecessary thing that only serves to drag you down and harm you. For example, you might say "Hitler was a cancer on the world."
It had nothing to do with anybody that actually has the disease itself. Using the term in this way also does nothing to devalue or make light of actual cancer.
I think a lot of people don't even understand what the disease is. It isn't a disease that has any single particular cause, or any single set of symptoms. "Cancer" is a term used in the medical world to describe a harmful growth anywhere on your body. Sometimes, the cells in your body go all weird and spurt random growths. Sometimes, those growths will keep growing and become harmful. Those growths are called "cancers." Sometimes, the growth is nothing and you can safely live with it the rest of your life. Those growths AREN'T called "cancers."
So calling Slash a cancer didn't have anything to do with anyone's mom or anything to do with making light of a deadly disease. It was simply the best way to describe Axl's viewpoint on his relationship with Slash, which was to say that Slash had a hugely negative impact on Axl's life and was harmful from the start.
In what universe does any of this actually matter? We all know what cancer is. Fact remains that one person compares another person with a horrible and deadly disease. To me, that's a horrible thing to say.
+1
..and for the record:
cancerˈkansə/noun- 1.a disease caused by an uncontrolled division of abnormal cells in a part of the body."he's got cancer"
Cancer can spread. While there are success stories, it can be difficult to eradicate, and has a habit of returning, usually destroying it's host.
Maybe Axl was thinking along these lines. Maybe in Axl's eye's, Slash will never go away, and always be around. My guess is, Slash will outlive Axl, who must suffer much distress, with all the legal stuff he goes though, not to mention the epic failure of Chinese Democracy. Meanwhile, Slash is out there keeping it real, being a rock star, making music, performing music, without all the ego control freak stuff. I bet is, Slash has more respect going for him than Axl ever will among those in the biz.

If he wanted to go for something really isolated he should have used "Bouvet Island" as the name of the song, because that's the most remote island in the world, not Madagascar which isn't particularly isolated at all being rather close to mainland Africa and all. If that's too esoteric who could have gone for "Galapagos". And if he wasn't going for a particularly isolated island then the question remains: why did he choose "Madagascar"? I guess he just likes the word. It's fetching
Yeah, because 'Bouvet Island' has a good ring to it
I have to say I really don't like the song. I always skip Madagascar, Riad and Scrapped
Me too, along with Sorry, Shacklers, Catcher, IRS, SoD, and Chinese Democracy..
-
Madagascar, the word atleast makes me think of the location. It looks different (in an interesting way), and i'm pretty sure many of the creatures that live there cannot be found anywhere else.

I'm not gonna lie, I want those love letters!
But why is she selling them though...
why now?
More interesting is why she kept them.
Maybe she is/was a hoarder by nature.
-
I have the book and never noticed the photo. It's good to see GN'R raw beginings..
-
I guess Erin Everly is simply *cleaning out her closet..*
I guess it sends out a clear message to Mr Rose. She really dosn't want anything to do with him. Although it might inspire him to pen yet another record about her. One way love,eh, it never works.
Maybe she knows how Axl works, and know's he will do all in his power to buy up all those items. Heh.

is it true, CD is out of print, and they are still shifting the original run?
will there be a second run?
-
Heh, good photo's..

I wonder if he has ever visited his grave, its just outside Lafayette. i've been there a couple of times, its a nice little monument to the man who died much too young.
Any thoughts/comments?
there's a mention of it in this book, but i can't remember the whole story, something about it wasn't convenient for him to travel then, ETC
Seems expensive for a paper back.

"I'd like to thank Irving Azoff for giving me this opportunity to bring this new music to the world. His enthusiasm and dedication to this project, as well as his contribution to the entire music industry really blows my mind." - brian wilson, imagination liner notes (1998).
axl wasn't smart enough to realize how lucky he was to work with somebody as irving azoff. it takes real talent to spoil everything, axl has that kind of talent.
Heh

Interesting thread..
Some funny comments too.. - hired GN'R were never going to out do GN'R
During the whole Chinese thing, I think Axl believed in Buckethead, Finck, Brain to deliver a sound that came close to his idea of perfection. For one reason or another, all 3 bailed. This in turn left Axl with a dilemma, quit, or take on anyone (bar anyone who had quit on him) who could learn in no time to play live (the songs). That's where Frank, Dj, Bumblefoot come in. These's guy's arn't a patch on the previous hiredhands, and Axl speaks highly of them ? ..i guess without them, he couldn't continue, and money had to be made..

What's the last/latest picture we've seen of Axl since the band started it's break (Besides the headphones one, because we aren't entirely sure when that was taken I don't think)? I feel like it was one of the ones on instagram of the camp eating together at a table, but I'm not entirely sure.
Do you guys think Axl will look any different whenever we see him again (in terms of hair, facial hair, new stage wardrobe, etc.)? (inb4theweightjokes)
EDIT: Here's the picture I was talking about. From June.
Axl looks like a regular joe in that shot. He don't look all that happy either. Come to think of it, the girls don't seem so upbeat either. The scene oozes tension. Maybe that's just the effect camera's have on some people. Or, maybe the food wasn't all that on the night, and they couldn't wait to exit.
Don't judge what Axl's mood is based on a photo, there's enough video and people who've been to the meet and greets to dispute all that.
Sorry, but i already did ;P
Chinese Democracy may become the most underrated album in history.
