Not true he was at his best during VR Libertad era, Slash self tilted & early SMKC. All sober. He’s sucked since GN’R reunion

The last time Slash sounded “good” was on the first VR album.
I don’t think it’s even debatable. I’ve seen him live more times than any other member of the band past or present. Look at any live footage up until 2005 and then compare that with anything 2006 to today. You’re seeing a completely different guitar player. The Slash of today could have never written the riffs that made him a literal guitar god.

Don’t get me wrong, he’s still an enigma. But he was just a better player not sober and I think he would tell you the same thing candidly.

That solo has just taken the entire shine off this performance for me. Todd sounds great on vocals, but the difference between the original solo and this, err, noodling monstrosity of a solo is the epitome of how much Slash's playing has actually gotten worse as he's aged. He's not even hitting the changes in the melody, which the original does so well, it's just flat out noodling with no connection to the underlying song.

Slash was a better player while under the influence. Sober, not so much.

My God even when Axl was a 5 year old you could see the tension in Axl's Stepfather Stephen's face.  Axl looks HAPPY 😁  but Stephen looks uncomfortable, unhappy and confused like,"WHY is this random kid I don't know hugging me? Get this random kid I don't know away from me!" 🥶Axl looks like he's hugging his FATHER😁, Stephen looks like Axl is a complete Stranger to him. What a disturbing picture on Stephen's side. 🥶

Fernando will have to go from the public eye at least. I hear everyone saying of course his family won't drop him, but surely it must have some consequence? I would never drop my children, but if they've done something so wrong, there will have to be consequences. He obviously has problems. It's great that Axl is so loyal. Sadly, the same can't be said of Fernando. If he was loyal, he wouldn't do all that crap to endanger the whole 'family business' as he sees it. Even if he denies all the sexual harrassment or makes it into some consensual thing, fact remains he was at least way in over his head on the business side. He's not fit to manage GNR. Axl and Beta should have known that.

I wonder how Vanessa feels about it all. I hope they at least are the happy little family she portrays in social media. She seems to steer clear of all the drama and seems to be doing well as Axl's assistant who's always around.

The average person/Guns fan has no idea who Fernando is. They also have no idea that a Brazilian family is essentially controlling all things Guns related.

They’re going to stick together. They’re going to fight this and it’s going to be settled before it even gets to court.

It sounded like he wasn't allowed to be, honestly there might be some shady shit we don't even know going on since the entire reunion started. If Axl himself can't even say something about a song, someone else could possibly be in charge. Maybe the band has really become a business more than we ever thought and they got paid out to reunite, hell what if the Axl/Slash reconcile wasn't even real they are just bound by contract.

This is about as real a scenario as Steven Tyler canceling a tour because he blew out his voice.

Singing the verses like that sure is a choice. I hope someday in his autobiography we learn why he thinks that weak clean falsetto is the way to go. It's got to be either A) it's a last resort and the only way he can consistently sing at his age or B) too many yes men around him telling him it sounds good.

A little bit of both IMO.

Taking a break and coming back in 2 to 3 years isn't impossible for him. He's healthy, seems mentally sound, and there's been no indication that they intend to never come back.

He's only 61 right now, and If they intend to be like the Rolling Stones as they said, they'll be performing well into their 70s. So a break won't hurt at all.

The main difference is that Axl’s way of singing is a hell of a lot more taxing on the vocal cords, then Mick Jagger’s.

This break will definitely be good if he actually uses the time to rest/recover. Even if his voice ends up being shot permanently, it is what it is. I can’t think of any bands that have canceled entire tours because of vocal issues.
