I know of maybe 2 of these bands…… the bigger bands get paid up front with secure deals. Sucks that the little guys are the ones getting screwed over AKA, every attempt DB Ashba made while trying to play a Guns tune.

I don’t think it was because of the leaks. It was listed on the setlist/production notes at the beginning of this tour so it was bound to happen before the tour was over. I think the only song that’s been soundchecked and not played by the band since the whole tour began was Think About You.

Monsters is by far the best of the new, reworked songs thus far. Gets better with every listen and definitely more dynamic when you listen to it on headphones. Can’t wait for the final version to drop. Going to be very interesting to see how this gets pulled off live. General is meh IMO

Elvis Presley and the Monster of Soul refers to when Axl was a kid listening to Presley, as that was one of his earliest influences, while also being abused by his stepfather. It all makes perfect sense that these are two songs that are intended to be heard together which then tells one complete story

CD was delayed/postponed for nearly 13 years pissing off the majority of the hard core fan base. Nothing was leaked by the band during that time. They don’t We all know where the leaks came from during that time period. The guns camp isn’t leaking their own songs. They don’t care about upsetting a small part of their fan base. Never did from the beginning.

Everyone who is talking about the songs being different than what was heard at the after party…. of course they are different. They were reworked, re-recorded, re-tinkered with, re-layered….re everything. Like just about every other song. I’ve never heard the full versions of either of these before but both of them have a State of Grace sound to them, if you know what I’m talking about. It’s interesting that Perhaps, Catcher and Atlas all fit together sound wise as do General, Monsters, and SOG. Safe to say Monsters, Monstrosity, and Elvis are all the same song. These versions have Slash and Duff all over them. Will be interesting to hear the high quality versions but I’m under the assumption that these are the final tracks, just ripped with very low quality. I for one really wish we would have gotten a double album of disc one with these industrial songs and then disc two with the illusion leaning songs in early 2000. Would have fit right in with everything going on at the time and would have been a great bridge of old Guns sound and Axl’s new sound that was very modern at the time of recording industrial side Chinese Better Shacklers OMG SOG Silkworms General Monstrosity illusions side Blues Maddy Catcher Atlas Perhaps IRS TIL Prostitute

This made me chuckle.

The majority of ticket buyers give zero shits about The General, Hard School or Absurd. Many of them don’t even know about Chinese Democracy. Promoters and band management know they make their money on casual fans, to which Guns has MANY, especially after Slash came back. The only ones who care about The General and any new music from this band are the members of the few Guns forums, which are NOT the majority of ticket buyers, hence there being zero urgency or care to release anything new in a timely fashion. I’ve said this multiple times. They. Don’t. Care.

Nobody other than the band and label are in possession of the final version and I’m going to bet there is also a close to zero percent chance that anyone will ever hear an earlier version.

I find it so amusing that you’re all this close to hearing it yet are begging for some illegal activity to take place in order to hear it a few days in advance. crazy

The greatest NuGuns moment was when they disbanded.

He needs a break. A long break to hopefully recover whatever vocal abilities he still has left. It’s been non stop singing and partying just about every night for the last few years. We are at the point where the weakest link is Axl. Yes he looks great, happy etc. but his voice is just not there anymore and there’s no denying or arguing otherwise. If this was any other act, we could let this slide but GnR is Axl and his voice is was and ways will be the driving force behind those songs. Let’s be honest, 99% of us here only went to the NuGuns shows because of Axl. It’s amazing how during that time there was so much hate for his voice but looking back on it, we would long for those abilities at this stage of the game.
