  1. Man, a remix of UYI without the awful drum tone and hall reverb / bass chorus / weird ambience / weird Axl's voice effects would make my 2021. The whole production made the record age so poorly in comparison to TSI. Note: I'm not bashing UYI, it's just that the mix doesn't do the songs much justice.
  2. My view as a drummer myself: he's one of the best drummers GNR had. But the mostly he's a bad fit. He's seems to me more of a Soul/Pop/R&B kind of drummer. He makes terrible style choices on playing and drum tone, don't know if they're intentional, or just his bosses give him a lot of freedom on the matter. Never heard any of his previous works, though. In some songs he really shines, like Locomotive. But he seems to struggle playing some straight-forward rockers.
  3. It's a good point, but on the positive side, selling the two products at once could be a win win also. I can imagine a UYI badass box causing that nostalgia/hype and a new album available on streaming services.
  4. One thing I was thinking about, the guy was a monster on business. He's like one of these soccer players who can't score a goal to save his life and still go and sign a top team. You gotta give him that.
  5. My two cents: 1. Axl wasn't that bad, guys. We've seen way worse. I think he did a decent job in Rocket Queen considering the current state of his voice, and his clean tone actually surprised me in good mix. It's not what you would excpect from Classic Era Axl but the performance itself wasn't embarrassing in any way. 2. Never had a thing against Richard Fortus, apart from the false promisses, but jesus, the guy makes terrible choices on GNR songs. He just tries so hard to shredd and adds nothing but silly licks on parts that requires nothing but basic rock n' roll. Hearing him this
  6. My mondays are getting more and more sad because every Metallica monday I try to compare these two bands.
  7. It's not that hard to get the sarcasm of the song, but there's this thing I perceived over the years which is that there was no room for that kind of statement, in any way, shape or form, especially coming from a white, privilleged guy and during that time in history. I don't want to start a debate on this OIAM matter or anything because it's an old one and beaten to death, nonetheless, I can't pick sides when both sides (Axl's lyrics and the media/public judging him forever based on an unhappy statement) are just kinda wrong.
  8. Robert Plant is in a level of musicianship much higher than Axl is these days. Plant can addapt his voice even in a bad night, whereas Axl can't help but embarrass himself when the stars are not aligned.
  9. We need some Youtube (MyGNR CSI) hacker who could possibly know if there's a video already uploaded in their account and ready to go. But seriously now, if it's not a weekly thing it will be just sad.
  10. I agree. One thing I noticed is that he sounds way better on Chinese Democracy than on the phone recordings we usually get. The ending was on point.
  11. Yes, the mix is definitely lacking Duff, and for the most part it must be his fault. When I saw them live, his bass was much less agressive and apparent than on UYI days.
  12. I know this is a old one, but rewatching this recent show and a couple of old VR videos, Matt could really atenuate the fact that Axl's shot. (And this is not coming from a #FireFrank guy, quite the opposite)
  13. Better than nothing, kudos to Fernando for telling the truth this time. Hope this is a weekly thing.
  14. Man, I was going to say the oposite, the drums sound very weak to me. It's very buried in the mix.
  15. Exactly. My wife is a big Metallica fan and we're following every week this Metallica Monday of theirs, which is really really great. But everytime I watch it, I wish GN'R could do something at least close to this. Metallica simply put out the BEST FAN SERVICE I know from a band. First of all, they have their own streaming service, and now with quarentine you get to see a new full concert per week, this week was one from 83 which is from my perspective the equivalent from Ritz 87 from Guns. I think the fault on GN'Rs bad fan service is on Axl's being insecure and completely paranoid
  16. I wonder if the guy'd have the balls to say that to Axl's face.
  17. Or even better, an acoustic version of Atlas with a blues based -straight forward- guitar, no keyboards or anything that reminds of nuguns, plus a percussion, man, that would be SO great. Can't see Axl Rose letting go all the pro tools he did, though.
  18. The band was very energetic and into the show last nite. I enjoyed pretty much the whole show from the streams. Axl was on fire and definitely changed my recent pessimistic view from the band. Wish we could've had more surprises but the bigger picture is that Axl is caring again, which is awesome.
  19. This cover introduced me to the great artist that Todd Rundgren is. The original song is so great.
  20. That was the first thing that came to my ming while I was writing. Man, we had all those spoilers in a heartbeat. Very exciting times for sure.
