I don't consider Matt a replacement per say, he's almost a original member. Most of my favorite drum parts in UYI were written by him and Adler certainly could not replicate them even in his best day.

I'm totally aware he didn't write all of the songs in it and for sure the guy behaves like he's equal to original members. Anyway, he's the best drummer GNR has ever had IMO, only a few rock drummers created a certain "signature style" of drumming and to me he's one of them, also the chemistry him Slash and Duff developed in studio with GNR and later in VR is top notch, to me almost a Hard Rock subgenre of it's own.

I would love a "Tenderness" kind of record by GNR. But I understand that I'm maybe the only one here who likes that album. 

That said, maybe the last "simple" song we're getting from Axl is Rock The Rock.

The general and Monsters are the two best GNR songs since CD and also better than at least half of CD.

That Tommy Stinson interview where he express frustration by mentioning that his favorite songs didn't make the CD comes to mind.

Lots of speculation about that one, largely assumed that is him on Monsters but debate exists on TG because it appears to be less certain that it's the final version.

Monsters:
To my ears it's cristal clear that Slash/Duff are present, not a doubt. Not only the guitar parts but the overall harmony progression differs from all we've heard from the CD era (despite the odd mix and odd guitar tone), the song gives me a Velvet Revolver meets Trent Reznor/NIN kind of vibe.

Very excited to hear a final version of this song, since it's clearly a rough mix. 

The General:

Awesome song, didn't like that much at first listen but it grew on me. The vocals are a bit weak for my taste, as if it was Axl's first take. Also, am I the only one who gets the impression that this one comes from a lot earlier than the Monsters? The mix is raw, very much like the The Village Leaks. Wonder if this is any close to final mix we're getting in December.

Sorry if already been asked, but is Slash on TG? Only noticed his parts on Monsters.

His vocal approach in 09/10 was seriously  unhealthy indeed, same as it was in the nineties. Non-coincidentally, these eras followed his greatness in terms of performance, he went all in.

 I dig the idea of OMG getting a proper release. Just afraid of Axl performing it live and not doing the song any justice. It’s one of my favorites nugnr rockers.

So I wanted to provided some sort of update/information to this whole Spotify situation. I reached out to a contact of mine who is a higher up at Spotify (mods you can check with me via PM to confirm. I don’t want to post personal info of someone else for everyone to see). I was told that Spotify receives song(s) information directly from labels before releases are announced. The reason being if someone tries to leak a song or an album the computer system will recognize the songs and block them from being uploaded by third parties. This kinda gives weight to all of these song titles showing up in searches being done by forum members. I also found out that yes, they know what albums/songs are going to be released and when way ahead of time. I’m working on trying to get more specific information relating to Guns but we will see if that materializes. 

 

In a nutshell, this info somehow does point to something possibly happening regarding either a new album or new songs being released, at least that’s the consensus I received after getting this information.

I’m brazilian but also have the impression that Buenos Aires is the place where a band tend to deliver something extraordinary, the energy from the crowds there are just fire!

Sure, especially the chords and progression, it's not bluesy at all, though the notes he's picking to the riff reminisce something very close to what he did in Anastasia

Wish I had the chance to go to this show. Buenos Aires is one of my favorite places in the world. To the ones attending, have fun and don’t forget to record the soundcheck if something new pops up!

Although now that I listened to the second clip, I don't know. Maybe it's a little too different. It might be a completely new song that we've never heard before. It could be Cuban Skies, Seven or Ideas of March. Or something else. 

 I agree, to me it’s Atlas reworked in a UYI style. 
 

about the second clip, pretty sure it’s the same song, just a different section.  I wish I’d recorded some other stuff they were playing when I was arriving from the parking lot, it was very keyboard oriented, much closer to that General intro from the CD tour. Afterwards they soundchecked only songs from the set.

He actually can get back to 2016 levels at least partially, last show was proof enough that it might happen in the future. Maybe he’s just too reckless and feeling no pain and etc 😅

If I were Axl, the next time I’d think about launching a song from 20 something years ago, I’d consider adjusting the key, I mean look at the struggle he goes through on HS 😅

Atlas was definitely the one that came to mind because of that arpeggiator intro.  I immediately carried myself away thinking they’d debut the song yesterday. Talk about a typical gnr fan behavior. 🤦🏻‍♂️

Just got home after a 4h drive from what I’m sure was the best GNR concert I’ve seen. Axl was in the zone, period. The guy had much control of his voice, whatever he was going through during the tour, it’s gone, he was in great mood, and looked the best in ages, which surprised me.
 

Seen the guy in 2010 and 2016, which were better years vocally, and last night he was on par with those. After watching RIR on tv I was expecting absolutely nothing from the show and me and my wife had a BLAST! 

Still recovering from sleeping a few hours in the car to get back driving, but later I’ll write with some more detail! 
 

EDIT: I’ve uploaded some videos on my YT channel but not sure how long they’re gonna stay there 😅
