well idk if it made him go Mickey but it shortened his breathing and made him sound wheezy. Maybe just being old too but I imagine smoking took its toll

Jesus that's terrible. He really was in a bad way just before he finished up. Poor guy. Wonder if there is was much complaining about Brians voice on the ACDC forums. I mean those clips are rio 2011 bad.

  2. Attended last nights show and my own short review.

1st time seeing ACDC and I was completely blown away. I have no idea how a man in his 60's has so much energy. Angus literally doesn't stop running/bouncing/rolling around for the full 2 hours.
Also whats impressive is the strength of the ACDC back catalogue. There is zero filler in their set.
As for Axl i can't really say much more than what has already been said since Lisbon. His voice is in great shape. He particularly blew me away with his rendition of Thunderstruck and Highway to Hell. There definitely was a hint of Mickey in one or two songs. Can't remember which exactly.

He was also in great form. Talked a lot and cracked jokes between most songs. Was great to see him on his feet during the encore. It really adds to the show as  we all know he has massive stage presence.

As others have said it seemed to me there was trouble with people fighting up towards the front and Axl made the remark to stop and that "we are here to have a good time" (or soemthing to that effect).

Just made the mistake of looking at some YouTube comments for a Hells Bells video from the Lisbon show. The amount of anti-Axl delusion is unbelievable.

The man is certainly polarizing. He has the delusional sycophants who refused to acknowledge when he screwed up in the past and now he has the delusional haters who refuse to acknowledge when his vocals are pretty solid. It's like his mere existence creates the Twilight Zone effect or something.

Generally speaking the comments on youtube are retarded. It seems like everyone there is 10 years old.

Doesn't Angus take no bullshit from idiots who throw things though?

I think if the crowd try to hurt axl by throwing things or whatever then Angus needs to be the one to tell them.

    I hope axl stays calm.

From what I see there never seems to be much trouble at ACDC gigs. But yeah I think Angus needs to be the one to call the shots if trouble arises.

  5. I'm going to this gig and I'm buzzing. GNR and ACDC have always been my 2 favourite bands. Yes it sucks Brian isn't there but this is a pretty awesome situation to have Axl filling in for him. I can understand the hardcore ACDC fans attitude but the band had gigs booked. May as well finish them with Axl and then call it a day after that.

I only hope that the bad feelings of some of the ACDC fans doesn't affect the gig and target Axl. I mean he can't just refuse to play if some people start throwing things like he does with GNR. Gonna be interesting to see how he handles it as I'm sure it will happen at some stage during the ACDC tour.

I don't mean in terms of lyricism obviously but like, just enjoying themselves live or otherwise? W/ the regrouping been watchin a ton of old clips from 88-93 nd they didn't seem to enjoy each other's company much even then...there seems to always been an underlying sorta tension. And with the 'regrouping', everyone just seems to be phoning it in outside of Axl N' Richard...In so far as no one seems motivated or pepped up live besides those two. I'm not expectin everyone to be best friends but it doesn't seem like the boys have ever enjoyed each other's company at least on stage.

countless videos from the 80's 90's would suggest otherwise

  7. I remember not so long ago when Slash was discussing the possibility or a reunion (and also mentioning it in his book) that he would only take part in a reunion of it was the original 5 appetite guys. For that reason I really hope the story of Steven taking part in rehearsals and throwing his back out are true. Izzy is Izzy and doesn't seem too fussed either way. Although I do think there was some disagreement with money with him and the reunion. I do hope for Stevens sake that he is part of the upcoming shows. He's been banging the reunion drum since pretty much 1990 and seems to be in good shape going by those videos.

I said it before and I ll say it again.

Fortus in no shape or form fits Guns N Roses, unless we are talking about past cover band.

    No sage presence, charisma...

Gilby must had been there if Izzy wasn't. GNR was always that hat wearing band ie. Slash, Gilby, Sambora style.

    Old school rick band.

Definately not Fortus look or playing style.

oh good, another one of these threads....

As the Frank, Melissa and now Richard bashing threads are already open I wonder what is next? some suggestions:

Axl Rose a bit too stiff on stage

Slash`s hat is a little overwhelming

Duff is too tall for the stage

Also if Richard stopped being so animated there would be the thread for he's not animated enough on stage.

Some people just had higher expectations of what was once the greatest rock band on the planet and difference of opinion as to what qualifies as tight as fuck.. This band is anything but that. They sounded like they were taped together half the time. There are moments of excellence in there but they are far and few in between what I would expect from Guns N' Roses. At least a Guns N' Roses that didn't only contain Axl as an original member. I think this is great and an upgrade for people that loved NuGnR but not so much for many that didn't. This is still NuGnR by all accounts. Duff didn't change anything when he was back in 2014.. There is a noticeable difference with Slash back but still has many of the shit qualities that made NuGnR.

Axl's voice is as good as its been in many years and Slash's playing is technically better than its ever been. The band is well rehearsed and well drilled. they are getting out there and performing and performing well from what critics and fans are saying. What qualifies as a moments of excellence? its not 1988 or 1992 anymore. People change. Its a shame that its not the full AFD lineup but what we have is pretty awesome.
What really annoy's me here is that no matter what happens here poeple aren't happy and bitch and moan over the pettiest stupidest things.
