Any fans wear masks? Did they check for vaccinated people? I doubt it. So I hope you guys stayed safe and enjoyed the show!
No, and it was indoors to boot. If you don't get covid from this, you likely aren't getting it

Oh yes, I totally get that. I just joked about the pizzas "objectively" not looking good.

Btw, a 2002 article in the local newspaper of Lafayette about Axl's history with Arni's Pizza:

Good article, hadn't read that one before

Did it ever occur to you, that the message may not have been directed at the fan base, but might have a significant meaning or milestone directed at someone or something...
For instance, this show could have been special because the lead singer was playing in his home town. The rose emjoi placed at the end of the message kind of give it away.
Don't overthink the situation.
You then, start to look for things that don't exist.
A simplistic approach, tends to be the better approach.
The simple answer is, it was a special show for Axl Rose as he was playing in his hometown.
He's not from Indianapolis, Lafayette is an hour northwest. But, he made a lot of references to being a Hoosier (an Indiana native) and "see what can happen when you grow up surrounded by cornfields" after SCOM. He really impressed me with his singing last night.

Those things have nothing to do with rock music, they effect every singer. Also, rock fans aren't stupid and don't need basic things explained to them lol
The examples of groups doing their best work in their 20's and occasionally later is SPOT on.
There's nothing else to rage against

He lives in California. Can't blame him. Why live in Indiana when you have the kind of money he has?
That's where he's from, family, etc

After years of straining night after night on the road, with little proper rest and in many cases smoking, drinking, and drug abuse mixed in, damage is done. That's why rock singers often lose the capacity to sing their older songs as they were recorded and end up forced to play them in lower keys as they age. Their vocal range constricts. Their capacity to make large melodic leaps declines, leading many singers to embrace a form of talk-singing, in which a song's melody is merely gestured at and approximated. This damage can also limit an artist's capacity to produce new music as vibrant as what they once wrote and performed.

Fernando, i'll be at the Indianapolis show. Will Axl have his ARNI'S pizza while in the Homeland? Maybe a run up to Lafayette to see the old stomping grounds/visit his mom's grave, etc

Don Everly was a hell of a lot more than "Axl's former father in law"
In our Guns community context, all I meant by it guy

Don Everly is survived by his mother, Margaret; his wife, Adela; his son, Edan; and his daughters Venetia, Stacy and Erin, ex-wife of Guns N’ Roses singer Axl Rose.
In 2019, Don was voted into the Musicians Hall of Fame in Nashville; in a video, Keith Richards called him “one of the best rhythm guitar players I’ve ever heard.”
