  1. I wonder what the mix will be like opening night? As far as hardcore fans/casual fans/hipsters/VIP's/high rollers etc.

Potentially there will be some big names there who might be in Vegas for the fights anyways. But who knows, I think they have a lot of people who are anxious to see them and it could attract some of the bigger names.
How are they gonna get tickets though? It's all sold out. LOL

    From the Metal Sludge boards:

MGM is sitting on 1000's of tickets for their "high rollers" and friends and family who will want to go. All of the MGM owned casinos will have an allotment as this is the first show at the new arena. I will get tickets, won't pay a dollar for them either.

But it's not the first show. The killers play there on the 6th

  2. How hard could this be? How much time could it take?

Spend a weekend listening to all the songs in the vault and pick out the best 20.

Send those to your bandmates and let them vote on which 5 they think are the strongest.

Take your 15 best songs and send them to your label.

That shouldn't take a year to do.

Unless there really aren't that many good songs in the vault. Maybe he doesn't feel the ones he has are up to par. Maybe he's done as a songwriter idk
  3. Myles did a nice job here, very professional, no drama etc.

Imagine Axl on here with his Bridget school performance and voice?! ehh....no thanks!

I would imagine that if Axl would have decided to play a reunion show in front of god knows how many millions of people, that not only would be have practiced and gotten his voice in shape for it, but he probably would have lost 50 pounds as well.

I don't believe for a second that the Axl we see now would be the Axl we'd see if the original band got back together. He'd do it right if he did it at all.

Myles isn't the right fit as a singer to do justice to GnR songs. He belongs in commercial radio rock outfits like Alter Bridge and Creed. His voice blends perfectly with Tremonti's tone, but not Slash's. All in all I would've rather had Todd Kerns sing or maybe Scott if he can drop his childish antics.

uhh gnr was commercial just like alter bridge

How many It's so Easy's, Get in The Rings and Perfect Crime's did Alter Bridge write? GNR had hits, but they were authentic. Alter Bridge was a product.

So because they don't write angry immature songs that call out members of the press, they're not authentic?

  5. She's a genius, just look at these lyrics:

This dude named Michael used to ride motorcycles

Dick bigger than a tower, I ain't talking about Eiffel's

Real country ass hooray for tolerance!, let me play with his rifle

Pussy put his ass to sleep, now he calling me NyQuil

    Now that bang bang bang,

I let him hit it 'cause he slang Cocaine

He toss my salad like his name Romaine

And when we done, I make him buy me Balmain

    I'm on some dumb shit

  6. rovim - I said it was about slash - because everytime I support robin - I get attacked - called a cupcake - but when so many still support slash - the same gang doesn't go on the attack

robin never really got the credit he deserves with gnr live or on the Chinese record and that sucks - yet everyone thinks world on fire is so marvelous and fantastic

but I haven't heard anything from slash on world fire that is as good or better than what robin does on Chinese democracy, better, sod, catcher, irs, twat, Madagascar, and my fav TIL

and has robin said anything publicly about his TIL solo? because that is my fav gnr solo - I really wanna know what robin thinks about his guitar work and solo on TIL

You don't get attacked or called a cupcake for liking robin. You get attacked because you act like robin is the whole world and discredit everyone else.

  7. Estranged is like a more expanded Axl universe, whereas Nightrain symbolizes Guns N' Roses.Don't get me wrong. I stupidly love Estranged, it's a masterpiece but Nightrain defines more what it really is the band "Guns N' Roses".

And what is it that defines GNR?To me Estranged shows what made GNR that bit more exciting and deep.
Agreed, but about half the fanbase wish GNR had never got deep and just kept making songs about drugs and pussy for the rest of their lives.

    Fuck, yeh.
    DieselDaisy, meet AC/DC.
I wonder what happened to those guys.
  8. Estranged is cheesy

Caught in a coma... Coma is by far GnRs chessiest song, Estranged is well written, long but never labors and is full with great performances from Axl and Slash... not to forget The other guys... Axl wrote the piano parts so I'm giving Dizzy any cudos for his role in that song. Duffs bass lines weave through the song really well and never step on the piano or synths toes, Matt who I wouldn't rate usually plays fantastic atmospheric/dynamic drums... all in all a perfect song IMO. Now is it a song that I would show someone to describe GnR? no! that goes to Welcome to the jungle and November rain. No one song sums up GnRs sound. Estranged is just a huge fan favourite... not the song that defines what is GnR.

I never said it was bad, just that some things like whispering 'alone' and the one, two count are cheesy. And I agree the album version of coma is cheesy as well with the heart monitors and all the talking over the song.

  9. I've listened to this album few Times and I have to admit that I am suprised much better then AL but It It is still pretty generic stuff.

And I dont understand How decent songwriter like Myles Kennedy can write such lame lyrics Alter Bridge has some Great lyrics with soul and meaning and when working with Slash he writes thah generic lazy stuff albo his vocals dont quite match with Slash style he Sounds much better with Tremonti

I think it's because alter bridge has been going for a darker image with their last couple albums. Their sounds a bit more metal influenced, so maybe miles thinks those type of lyrics wouldn't fit with slashs style.
  10. Myles said in an interview that he wrote it about the treatment of old movie stars after seeing a story on tv or something like that. I doubt it's about Axl.

Fair enough, I just thought the choice of "delilah" was interesting, though it does have an old Hollywood movie star sound to it as well.

Yeah, I see where you're coming from though. I think a bunch of guns fans might think it's about him. But Myles lyrics are usually pretty vague.
  11. Really think Withered Delilah is about Axl...

You are the clown for what you are

You had to break out every trick you could pull

But there comes a time when everything must turn off

    Back to the start again

Back to the place where you come from

    Stuck out of view

    My withered delilah

You know it's true that no one cares anymore

    Stuck out of view

    You had your time

But now your moment is all but gone

    Oh it's gone

    Lost in a daze

    What have you done?

Diggin' a grave to be your own

    You're soon to fade

But just too blind to let go

    Of what you had

    And what you were

Irrelevance hurts but you're not alone

    So pack your diamond rings

    All your pretty things

    And just move along

'Cause there's always somebody else to replace you

    When you are gone

(When you are gone, Hey yeah)

The moment is all but gone

The moment is all but gone

    Oh it's gone

Withered Delilah = Axl Rose (delilahs are a kind of rose, and Axl is getting on a bit). Break out every trick you could pull = keyboards and synths and session players for ChiDem. Diamond rings, well, Axl wears a lot of them. "Irrelevance hurts", and "the moment is all but gone" seem to point to the futility of any reunion now. I know Myles supposedly wrote all the lyrics but maybe Slash snuck this one in there :P

Myles said in an interview that he wrote it about the treatment of old movie stars after seeing a story on tv or something like that. I doubt it's about Axl.

  12. Bwahahahahahaha.... Slash's riffs are what made the songs. Ahahahahaha...aha..ahahahaha..ah..ha. That must be why everyone that is old enough to have been around for the heydey can and still do sing every single word to the songs be it at a Slash show or a Guns n' Roses show, right?

scom riff and solo are constantly on best of lists. It definitely wasn't those pissp pour lyrics.
    It's piss poor, genius.
It was a typo. I'm on a cell phone you dumb fuck. I swear I'm in the fucking twilight zone on this forum sometimes.
Ahahaha. You wouldn't be smart enough to know if you were. Being on a phone causes a loss of spelling capability now, huh? I truly have heard it all.
Like you've never made a fucking typo? Sweet child would be nothing without slashs parts and duffs bass. I hate to break it to you people on here who worship Axls every move, but many people outside of these forums listened/listen to gnr for the guitars. Quit trying to devalue slash as if gnr would have been huge without him.
