I was sending to my cousin who is a big Black Crowes fan so he could hear the clip of the Pusher.  He is also a fan of Slash and some other artists on the album so he is looking forward to it and going to the show.  In general, I have heard nothing but positive reactions to Killing Floor though.. Aside from one friend who thought Hardschool was pretty good, I haven't heard anything positive on the GnR relesases outside of this board. I really haven't heard much interest in those songs at all tbh..

    I loved that Jam! hahah

I guess people just hear/ feel these GnR singles are somehow off/ unnatural and simply don't sound very good. The General is just ridiculous, I expected more (negative) reactions, but not many people give a fuck at all at this point if the product is of this quality.

Slash, come on lad. You’re the lead guitarist in one of the most successful bands of all time. Surely you are able to give more info than this. (Or is he? )

8 years with 4 singles. Kinda baffles me. Very slow year for Guns. Keeping my interest elsewhere with Pearl Jam and Kings of Leon releasing new albums. Also going to see PJ live for the first time ever this year!

It's the Axl show, that much is very clear. It's all on him, just like he demands.

That's bad for the band, bad for the brand and bad for the fans but that's how it is.

Slash is as honest as possible regarding GnR.

the close to climaxing sex noises are a turn off for you iirc heh. I like the song too, the vocals I don't have an issue with, even if they're not exactly what you'd call traditionally good, especially from Duff, but I wouldn't change it personally. my favorite part of the song is Slash's leads with that tone

This! The lead tone alone makes this song worth listening to. The tune really is pretty cool musically, vocals are the worst part and bring it down.

I'd put rock the rock top of the pile... and I'm not even being one insincere there😂

As far as Andrew Watt goes, he got a half decent album out of Ozzy Patient no 9... the other one did nothing for me. The RS record isn't my cup of tea and I haven't heard the PJ record yet... but I can of know his MO and the style/sound of record he tends to make and I just imagine it would sound like 10 Hardskools which would be best 6/10. I think we can wish for better while we're dreaming.

  5. Best to worst:

    1. Killing floor

    Love everything about it.

    2. Perhaps

Feels incomplete, like half a song in a way.

    3. Hard Skool

Had some fun with it, but the lazy copy & paste and awful production killed it in the long run for me. The demo was much better.

    4. Absurd

I still think it's hilarious they put this out as the first song after Sluff's return and will always have a soft spot for this/ Silkworms. I never put it on now to really listen to it, of course.

    5. The General

It's the worst song they put out, ever. I hate everything about it, it just sounds ridiculous, especially the bridge and the whole ending section. Axl's worst studio recorded vocals, gives me a headache. The video compliments it very well.

Never really listened to the Barbie song.

I'm always eager to hear new Guns N' Roses songs, but after hearing how organic and lively Duff's new album and Slash's new blues stuff sound, I'm not that excited to hear those Nu-Guns -era songs anymore. They're cool compositions and nice things to have, but they do sound kind of stale in comparison to examples mentioned above.

This. It's really frustrating that Axl can't let go of the Chinese stuff. If he was sitting on the greatest songs ever written, maybe. But that's clearly very far from the truth.

This is just a waste of time and disrespectful to the current band, especially Slash.

Back in the day I read things like he isn’t able to hit the notes when he starts doing the fast runs on the Nightrain outro and things like that. It was exactly the same sloppiness which made his sound and guitar playing unique. Slash was NEVER technically perfect and rock n roll was never meant to be perfect. If you wanna sterile guitar playing Buckethead might be the better choice instead of looking for the slightest technical inaccuracy in a great sounding guitar solo.

Yeah, judging each second of a guitar solo individually is a bit embarrassing, lol.
