  1. I truly don’t get it. It’s the same tour. Every year. These songs have been beaten to death. They must be bored doing the same thing, no?  Surely enough money has been made to put their feet up for a year or two or three.

If Axl sounded amazing, I’d go. But I could barely enjoy it at MetLife Stadium in summer 2021.  It’s a shame. Loved the 2016, 2017, and 2018 shows I saw. Even 2019 had its moments.

Unfortunately I am passing, which I can’t believe

  2. That video is just so incredible. Reminds of why I fell in love with this band and why the last couple years have been hard to be a fan.

They were so good and talented. Slash sounds amazing. So much blues and swagger. Axl is just a 90s icon. Dude was just a total badass and everyone wanted to be him.

I am excited for the release. Just wish it was packed with more outtakes and all of the live content was available in the box set. And the price is unreasonable

I’m pretty sure I’ve seen this video back in the 90s but with the album version as audio. I had a version on vhs that had no T2 footage and I think it’s the same.

Interesting. There was something familiar about it but I thought I was imagining things. Surely someone on here knows

Regardless, that’s an epic video. Not sure what folks are complaining about.  The audio sounds great and raw. The video really captures the chaos of the band at that time. What a wonderful document of a historic gig.

Wish I had been old enough to have seen them at that time

Why? Because you say so?? Many of those songs are great. And then it doesn't really matter who wrote the song.

Agreed. And the band was still involved in all the writing, minus I don’t want to miss a thing, which I loathe

Aerosmith live was just fantastic between 1987 and 2007.  I saw them in 2019 and they were still really really good.  To each their own

  5. I feel bad for criticizing Axl - he’s one of my favorite musicians and writers ever.  But this is so hard to listen to. I’ve seen GNR a lot since 2016, spending a small fortune. 2021 at Metlife was it for me. Until he can improve his vocals or the setlist radically changes, it’s just not worth the money to see them.

He looks healthy and has lost weight - happy for him. Just wish he could improve his vocals

I think many people are not getting that Eddie was actually complimenting GNR and that we don't need to pit one against the other to make a point lol

Agree with this.  I am surprised to read this Pearl Jam and Eddie hate after he paid GNR a compliment. 🤔 The Times article was a thoughtful piece.  I always put GNR in a different class to Motley Crue and every other 80s glam.

I don’t buy the hypocrisy criticism, comparing 25-30 year old comments to present day.  Eddie is 57 now and has the benefit of hindsight to insightfully comment on his musical history.

As for Eddie/PJ, they are one of the last great rock n roll bands. They are still creating new music, playing it live to audiences, make sure their most loyal fans get a shot at great tickets, and check their egos at the door. The live sets change every night. It’s good to be a Pearl Jam fan (although I always loved GNR more)

I saw Eddie 2 nights last week in NYC for his short tour. He was fantastic - sounded great, incredibly gracious with his audience, conversed with them. I’d take that any night over the current GNR dynamic.

  7. Wow, that is embarrassing! Richard has been in this band for 20 years. 20! And he either doesn’t know or isn’t able to talk about his work or his group in any meaningful way. Sad

At this point, no one cares about a new GNR album aside from this forum and a small collection of others. Face it, GNR won’t be culturally relevant, so let’s stop pretending it’s so fucking special
