Can someone explain why remasters are done in the first place? What is the point of remastering an album? I don't really know a lot about mixing and mastering etc.

Even Welcome To The Jungle sounds pretty much the same. Yes, even in Rio Axl sounded mostly raspy in WTTJ . This Sao Paolo version of WTTJ has occasional clean vocals just like the Rio version did. There's barely any difference between them and people act like they're as different as night and day. The only difference is that Rio was pro shot and the clean vocals were a lot more noticeable because of the good quality. Now people are listening to bad quality cell phone recordings and they notice some rasp here and there and they go apeshit because of that. It's like they don't even notice that the clean vocals are still there. Just like in Rio Axl sounds occasionally raspy and occasionally clean. There's no difference. 

Finally some sense here. Axl sounded exactly like in Rio, it's just that through cellphone audience recordings everything is a little more distorted (if that is the correct word) and his singing is mixed with the audience singing along and screaming.

If you upload a high quality photo with larger dimensions than this, the forum will try to resize (downsize) it automatically for you - but it doesn't do a very good job, as you can see.

If it's already 120 x 120 when you upload it, the quality will be maintained.

Those are the two tracks he finished and posted yet. According to him, a third track, called "Moving on" (that you can hear at the end of the Vehicular Blues video), will be finished by the end of this week.

Just got the final "Izzy" Guitar (or er...left guitar in this case) and bass finished. So now I have to do the right side "Slash" stuff and solos.. which i'll be writing on the fly as I have no idea what i'm gonna do with that part yet. oh boy.. no pressure :S

All I have ever heard about the situation was from that comment Fortus posted on facebook. Then the story just grew legs. And continues to do so.

 

Just found the screenshot of the facebook post, it's on this forum. He said Slash "offered him a gig, playing with his band". Could mean different things, so I'll give you that.

But here is the interview I was talking about. It's a podcast with a St.Louis radio station from December '16.

Listen to 7:20 min, please. Sounds pretty clear to me and not like some overblown misunderstanding.

Didn't Slashs Manager approach Richard and ask him to join Slashs band on Slashs behalf? Just read that somewhere recently, don't know where anymore. And I think it was someone from Slash "camp" who confirmed this.
