KeyserSoze replied to We love Axl Rose's topic in GUNS N' ROSES - DISCUSSION & NEWS
Theres a way better way to format this and im currently working on it.... -
06/09/23 - Madrid, ES - Civitas Metropolitan Stadium

The current state of Slipknot is basically the Chi Dem era x20. It's absolutely wild and I checked out of that Fandom after the Gray Chapter -
If you had to pick one for the current tour.....

It's gotta be Izzy on the sheer fact that he's played with Axl and Duff and Slash post GNR breakup, but yet refuses to do it with all 3 at the same time based on money that he wasn't and couldn't be apart of. I think the best idea is to play ONE show at say the LA Forum or Dodger Stadium etc etc where the AFD 5 play all of AFD and songs that Adler knows and plays on a regular basis, plus the other GNR songs he plays live like You Could Be Mine and Civil War. Then teach him how to play Patience, or have him sing back up on an acoustic version, reacquaint him with Reckless Life, Nice Boys, Mama Kin and who the fuck knows, maybe even Move To The City. That right there is a 2 and a half hour show. Adler would jump at this oppurtuntiy no doubt in my mind. I literally believe he goes out and plays shows hoping that one day they call him up to join the tour again. He literally only plays one of his songs live, the rest are GNR, or sometimes he even busts out a Highway to Hell cover.. hmmm I wonder who sang for AC/DC again? -
Anyone wonder how a new GNR album would fair on the charts given recent history? Metallica falling to #2 for the first time because of Morgan Wallen!!! Foo Fighters new album is about to be #7 on the top 10 during it's debut week with not 1 but 2 Kpop albums (and Morgan Wallen) in front of it. Is rock well and truly dead in 2023?

If they brought back the fast You're Crazy and Think About You, they can basically play all of AFD at one show and still have 2 hours and 15 minutes to play other music from their catalogue if we're going off the time from the show the other night. They were playing 8, sometimes 9, songs a night from AFD at the beginning of NITL. They played 9 again the other night. Whats wrong with taking out a couple of songs of the set to get from 9 to 12? Would Axl be gassed? Oh yeah. Can it still happen though? Why not? I know GNR is no Pearl Jam, but Pearl Jam did it with multiple albums on their 2016 tour in different cities. I Doubt they would do all of UYI, but they've basically played all of Chinese Democracy at this point, so they might as well go for that as well, even if it does take getting Fortus to play straight leads on Rhiad, Shacklers, and Scraped.... I think this whole NITL/We're F'in Back thing is going to come to a close with a multi-month residency in Vegas. If thats at "The Joint" (if thats what it's even called anymore) or something as crazy as The Sphere, that would be the most GNR thing they could possibly do given Vegas relationship with Axl & Co post 2000. With that residency should come the playing of the bands whole recorded discography as well as all the covers they've decided to pick up over the last 7 years.. I'm talking everything from Move To The City to freaking Oh My God getting played. Guests galore. Adler? Izzy? Robin? Bucket? Maybe Tommy comes back and plays Motivation. Can you imagine 20 guitarists on stage behind Slash lmao. You get my point.. Or at least thats what I would do at this point. If you're still showing up, you're a diehard and this band changed your life, OR you have money and a torturous sense of nostalgia. This band should feel that and want to give back to the fans now that we've seen through the bullshit and realized they really are only doing this for money. The least they could do at this point is play ALL of the music that changed peoples lives to the people that are paying the generational wealth for each person on that stages' future family since 2016.

Hoping for a 20 minute Civil War in response to that one comment

Honestly, i think he hasn’t played “slow” since Use Your Illusion 2… think about his solo in The Garden. If he was doing that all over This I Love instead of trying to fit in as many notes as possible, i think it would fit the song better

Slash has about 5 solo albums now since Axl released Chinese Democracy. Duff also has 1 and now b-sides he just released. He also played bass on Iggy Pops last album If you wanna see what they think Epic is, check out those releases.

complete 1st half of the show audio is out there on the interwebs
-
Best nightrain since Houston 16 for sure

Anyone see how much ticket prices dipped before doors opened tonight? Might be a good benchmark for the rest of the tour… if not i’m gunna have to get on that once the tour gets in full swing
-
Great effort by everyone involved except the crowd tonight. I hope they build on this and switch or add to the encore: Used To Love Her, Yesterdays, TWAT, Catcher etc You can only go up from here, really.
-
If they play Think About You on this run, they will have played all of AFD
-
Anyone remember Mexico City 2016 where they played songs like There Was A Time and Used To Love Her, and then completely didn't bring them out at all during the summer tour? Are we looking at a situation like that again?

the way i see it at this point: might as well do the whole released discography before we wrap this whole thing up. You know what's crazy? The two songs they might add that we're geeking out about Bad Obsession and Pretty Tied Up? Both written solely by Izzy Stradlin. Wheres Izzy?
