  1. Hmm best thing to do would be to speculate some optimistic outcomes of this

    - Axl has been putting off vocal surgery. He likely has a date set and will rest up over the next couple years and see if he can return with more control.

    - Axl is retiring the “Hard Rock” portion of Guns to focus on music and covers that are softer for his a man in his 60’s. Maybe get into some late Elvis classic country type era.

    - Axl going to spend some time at home with his pets, relax and take in the fruits of his labor. Slash, Duff confirmed to be on solo projects. Everyone lives happily ever after.

Not much left for these guys to do. They came, they saw, they conquered. It’s all bonus material from here! They belong to the history of rock.

Axl apparently was quoting some of Rogan's comedy bits when they met, they'd probably talk about comedy and movies for a while. Would love to hear Axl explain more about Rhiad, too.

I think Axl was into Kickboxing as well in the mid 00’s. That would get them into that period in his life. The main thing a good interview with Axl would do is introduce a lot of people to who he is now, and some of the things he overcame to get to that point in his life. The younger generation really doesn’t know who Axl is. I feel like most people would be surprised to find out he isn’t a drug addict that’s lost his mind. He’s had a pretty crazy life. Would be worth listening to him discuss the ups and downs in retrospect.

when the song talks about "Perhaps I was wrong", do you think the "perhaps" means the singer has some doubt or is undecided on whether he is wrong or not? the entire song is named after the "perhaps", so it seems important somehow. but why is the singer undecided on whether he was wrong?

    also

    Perhaps I was wrong
When I didn't see you, hey, hey <- past tense
    Perhaps I was wrong, hey
When I don't believe you <- present tense :O (might just be for the flow of the syllables though when singing aloud)

I’d say he’s trying to rationalize the situation in convincing himself that he wasn’t that awful. But as the doubt creeps in as he reflects his  internal voice hits him with the “you’re all alone now”

But you never know, the song could have been born from a complex relationship or something as simple as a girl rejecting him haha there’s a few good interpretations I’ve read.

The lyrics of Perhaps are interesting for sure, like some lines on their own including most of the first verse, to my eyes seem to be about Axl/the narrator shellshocked and then also guilty regarding a breakup he was threatened with but thought wouldn't actually happen (perhaps he was wrong when he didn't see her or believe her, but how is he supposed to know how it feels to be her?).

That would make the "harboring this hate for days" and "my sense of rejection is no excuse for my behavior" bits make sense.  Even the pulling the gun and crucifying his savior bit, maybe talking about how this person meant so much to him, and her breakup made him feel like crucifying (metaphorically) the one he used to love

The chorus however has some lines that are hard to make sense of in that context - I interpret it as Axl/this character rattling off some of their faults that may have caused the breakup to happen

I interpreted it as a relationship as well. Sounds like the guy is reflecting on it and realizing he wasn’t really present in the relationship. The chorus with Duff seems to be his internal voice saying he prioritized people in his life that didn’t matter.

The gun to his savior is the line that tells me it’s about him carrying a God complex that was crumbled when she left. In songs like Coma Axl describes himself as the one that had to save him. I think it’s the same idea here, the main character is so full of himself because of the fame and status he reached. It’s only after she left that he understands how awful he was. It’s a burden she shouldn’t have had to carry if he had been present, but now his heart bleeds for what he allowed himself to lose.

  5. If they loved the fans they’d give us pro shots of

    Estranged in Chile 2011

    Civil War in Denver 2011

    You’re Crazy Brooklyn Bowl 2013

    Paradise City Lubbock 2013

Yesterdays, Prostitute, TWAT 2014 Vegas (June)

Create a 2016 full show release of a Texas two step with best performances between Arlington and Houston (arlington had My Michelle, Sorry, and Patience)

maybe a couple 2006 and 2010 full shows

    all UYI material haha

Just some great performances over the years that deserve to be highlighted. I’d pay for access to some of these performances

Fuck yeah! Just listened to Nightrain he sounds cool as fuck. I'll listen to the rest of this show later. I want to grab Axl and shake him and say "Use this lower register you crazy little bastard!" Sounded great.

Nightrain was interesting! I wish Frank did the correct drum fills at the end but oh well Axl sounded cool. It would probably be better if he knew someone was assisting on the high parts. I think if they can rearrange some of these parts they could still have a killer show

  7. Axl is well aware of the cost of a cancellation these days. Even when he covered for ACDC one of the first things he mentioned was wanting to help Angus knowing the cost of canceling a tour; as well as the lawsuits involved. That was more for the love of the music for Axl, but for Angus it was a multi-million dollar save by Axl.

In this situation it’s more about business than the love of the fans. The shows will be rescheduled, but I guarantee you they’d be done right now if they had their money secured.

  8. Essentially the promoter will take care of tickets, venue, and refunds. However, if the band isn’t able to fulfill their obligation then it ultimately cost them money. GNR has such a large production that if they schedule 14 shows overseas then they don’t make money until about show number 10. So with 5 shows left on this tour GNR will likely lose out on their profit shows, insurance can cover basic cost but overall it’s going to feel like they just did a leg of the tour for free.

  9. The Use your Illusion tour was saved by Axl’s doctors and vocal coach. They literally cancelled gigs because his voice was messed up from singing over the PA and weren’t sure they’d continue. The important thing here is Axl is going to get a deep look at the state of his vocal chords from professionals. I’m sure it’s been a while since he’s had someone actually look at his vocal chords. I think in the past he’s put sore throats on being sick, but it’s likely it’s been a developing issue following AXL/DC.

  10. I wouldn’t mind if Axl just did low notes from now on and brought on someone to do the high notes. SCOM and PC sounded better than they have in over a decade, and the way they coordinated the verses was pretty cool for it being on the spot.

Axl needs some more time to figure out how to sing these songs in his low voice. You could tell there were moments that tripped him up when he couldn’t go for a high note. He could do some good shows with some more work on the songs.

What I think is going to happen is Axl is going to get some rest and jump back into his high notes that we know (Mickey) I think he’s ok, just had a bad couple days dealing with some vocal stuff. It’s likely going to be something that will creep up on him for the rest of his career unless a doctor can help.

  11. Watched some videos from Twitter and Carrie and that crowd were amazing! Axl could not have asked for a better group of fans and singer to save him. It looked like a party in there with SCOM and PC. Every comment I saw said the show was fun and they were amazing despite the delay. Glad everyone stepped up and made it a good time despite the shape Axl was in vocally.

I’m so confused as to what actually happened tonight after reading through everything.

Axl has become self aware of his voice problem, or did he sound “extra bad” tonight or something?

He couldn’t physically take on the high notes tonight. It was actually causing pain. So he’d either skip lines or sing in his lower register. I think the best example of what he was facing can be heard at the end of Patience tonight. The outro was all over the place, but then he finished the line “this timeee” in what was one of his better vocal notes hit in a long time imo

  13. Axl has a history of meeting women that mess up his vocals. Lisa Marie in 2006, Lana Del whatever in 2010, and Carrie Underwood this year. These women are dangerous! Jk just wanted to add to the drama. The truth seems to be Axl has been in need of vocal surgery since 2017-2018, but has elected not to. No worries. But think of it like Tiger Woods playing golf now days. Sometimes you’re going to see a version that is reminiscent of his younger self and sometimes you’re going to see an injured old man fighting his way through a round. Axl is going to have good and bad days. The bad days will be more pronounced with his age. I’m looking forward to hearing some videos from tonight. See how different it was.

I have thought that about You Could Be Mine for a long time.. I can hear it in my head and I can know it would just work. It would actually sound good.. That voice is the only reason I like the Seeker. I don't even like the original but when Axl sings it in that voice he just makes it. He can still nail that.. I would assume it is more natural for him too.

It would sound like the opening line on You could be mine in 2014 in La Paz.

  15. Looks like it causes Axl some stress to sing high notes. It’s like his voice can’t grip onto anything. It’s just airless sound coming out with no way of creating the power we’re use to hearing from Axl. He puts his hand on his chest near his throat out of instinct. I’m guessing that’s to help feel his voice so it doesn’t feel like it’s escaping. But there’s no fullness to it. Maybe it’s just lost for good at his age, but still seems like he wants to find something. He’s trying. Just simply not there
