  1. No need to worry. I have zero faith in a digital release. As soon as people get their hands on a copy, a recording will start making the rounds immediately. Most likely this will take 4 or 5 more days. BUT.....there's always a chance a copy of the record will reach an enthusiastic fan early and we'll get a recording that way. That could literally happen any moment now. Best case....we hear it in the next few hours. Worst case....about 5 days from now.
  2. Well at least I'm not alone! And you definitely seem to have a great grasp on English despite not being a native speaker. Making us lazy Americans look bad! (I hate studying foreign languages...)
  3. BTW.....I've been listening to Atlas a lot to get myself all psyched up for The General. I've always thought at the end, last line of the song, Axl is saying "Jesus how I'd hoped you understand." According to online lyrics databases, all completely unofficial of course, people seem to think he's either saying "even now I hope you understand" or "Gee, even now I'd hope you understand." Not kidding...look it up. Someone out there really thinks Axl is using the word "gee" in a song. But am I way wrong? He's not saying "Jesus?" What do you guys think he's saying?
  4. They are charging $15.00 plus shipping for the Perhaps 7 inch. The General is nothing more than an incentive to get you to spend over $20 on something you can hear for free on youtube anytime you want. THIS IS HOW THEY MAKE MONEY. You know how little bands get from shit like Spotify? Like fractions of a penny for every time a song is played. It's bullshit. GNR knows they're a "brand" now. If they want money, they sell shit. Shit they get all the profits from, not fractions of pennies. (Does anyone really pay for digital music? I've never paid for anything digital in my life. Guess I'm just a boomer. Physical media, yes...I buy it and keep it. Digital files are free.)
  5. I'm sure it'll be on a CD or something eventually, especially if it's really good. People still buy CDs like crazy in Japan. The Hard Skool CD got a lot of promotion there. If nothing else, I predict a CD release in Japan in some form or another, but not necessarily anytime soon.
  6. ....wait, you guys are all counting on an official digital release? WTF? I thought we were counting down til someone gets their hands on the vinyl and shares it with us. That's the only way we're gonna hear it. If you're waiting for pristine digital clarity, you're in for a much, much longer wait. That's not gonna happen til a true audiophile with an amazing set up can rip the vinyl and share it with us. Could be a while. I see no reason why someone won't just hit "record" on their phone like they did with Perhaps at the jukebox. I thought we were all on the same page here in that understanding. If you really think something's gonna happen at midnight New Zealand time, you're in for a big letdown. Allegedly, the vinyl exists. All we can do now is wait. But it literally should be any day now. Maybe even today.....
  7. Can you PM the link? If you post it publicly it'll get taken down. I hear something. It COULD be Axl Rose. But it's such a muddled murky mess it's not worth listening to more than once.
  8. Relying on youtube or other public postings is a waste of time. Once that recording is out there, we'll spread it amongst ourselves, same as we did with the locker leaks, the skwerl leaks, the MSL leaks, and so on. And at the end of the day....so what? There's gotta be at the very most about....3000 people? 3000 people that give a fuck about this song? All those hundreds of thousands of soccer moms that attend the shows are only there to dance along to SCOM and Paradise City. They wouldn't listen to the General if it was free on youtube.
  9. I have listened to that fucking shit-ass excuse of a recording dozens and dozens of times, straining to hear even a hint of Axl Rose over the inane chattering of partying douchebags. I've tried headphones, speakers, adjusting levels, full volume......no matter what? I swear that clip is like a Rorschach test. People that claim they're hearing stuff are only hearing what they want to hear.
  10. Hard to say. The only thing that's absolutely certain is that not everyone will like it. We all love GNR, yet even hardcore fans don't seem to see eye to eye on the CD songs. Some of them are people's favorites, and to others they're dogshit. In my personal opinion, I only think TWAT, SOD, and Catcher are any good on CD. The rest is either mediocre filler or downright bad. Some people will swear that "Madagascar" or "Prostitute" are FUCKING EPICCCCC and changed their lives or something. To me they're just boring plodding bullshit. The locker leaks happened and I was as thrilled as anyone to hear "new" music. But none of it really stood out to me. Hard Skool, Perhaps, State of Grace, Nothing, Eye on You.......all extremely "meh" songs in my opinion. Then I heard Atlas and immediately lost my shit. THIS was the kind of up-tempo power ballad I love from Axl. Absolutely timeless classic in my mind. I instantly loved it. I'd put it right up there with some of my favorites from UYI II like Breakdown. I fucking LOVE this song. Yet...some fans think it's just a lame or mediocre track best left on the cutting room floor. I'm trying to temper my expectations. I know there'll never be another Estranged or Coma. Those of you expecting that are going to be sorely disappointed. But could it possibly be in the same league as Atlas? God, I hope so.
  11. I want to be wrong, really. I just don't see it happening. And all indications from the GNR crew is that they're taking all of 2024 off, and that there are no plans to record anything. Slash is off with the Constipators, Duff is doing his own thing. It's gonna be a quiet year.
  12. And I have a feeling it won't ever get played live. All indications at the moment are that it's a throwaway song. If they really want to include it the way they did SOYL, Hard Skool, Absurd, and Perhaps, they're gonna have to rehearse and soundcheck it a lot more. Doubt it's on their radar. Best case is they'll try in 2025 if they feel up to it. They only have four shows left after a long tour. They're exhausted and probably can't wait to just chill the fuck out. I'm sure they'll have some energy at the two Bowl shows, but no reason they're gonna debut an unrehearsed song. I'd love to be wrong.
  13. The band doesn't give a fuck what our "experience" is. Vinyl was good enough for decades. Did you JUST discover GNR or something? Their management perfected the art of the clusterfuck back in the 80s.
  14. We're GNR fans. This isn't our first rodeo. The more difficult they make it to hear this song, the harder our efforts will be. The moment the actual record is in a fan's hand, we're all gonna hear it. It's gonna spread faster than an STD back at "Hell House" in the 80s. Will we get a pristine quality FLAC digital download? Eventually. Not right away. Will we at least be able to finally fucking HEAR the song? Yes. As soon as someone gets the actual record. Look at how quickly GNR fans got on that Perhaps "jukebox leak" thing....and that was a song we'd all heard a million times since 2019. This is......THE GENERAL. Any day now......
  15. I think the original and the remix are about the same as far as how much I enjoy it. It's just not a good song. Hearing it again with raspier vocals was a novelty, though. I do find it almost impossible to believe that he re-recorded the entire song around 2010 or so, cause that's so out of character. But it's also hard to believe they'd have the 1993 vocals all ready to go and have them match up with the new backing tracks. Just another of the many unsolved mysteries in the GNR world.
  16. I don't "hate" it, but it was such a colossal letdown I'll never really "love" it. I'm perfectly aware a lot of people DO love it....I'm not starting an argument or anything. Just built it up so much in my mind all those years, and it was just........ugh.
  17. Careful what you wish for. From 1993-2008 the one song in the universe I wanted to hear more than anything else was This I Love. Axl said it was the "heaviest thing he'd ever written." I fantasized about it. Was it gonna be like Estranged on steroids?? I even asked Axl about the song when I met him in 2002. All those years of longing and wondering finally came to an end in November of 2008, and I heard the song for myself for the first time..... And I almost cried. Not out of joy. But because the song fucking sucked. It was a crushing letdown. Just the most over the top, melodramatic, Andrew Lloyd Webber bullshit. I know some people like it, and I wanted to like it, but I just can't lie to myself. The song SUCKS. I wish I'd never have heard it. It was better when it only existed in my imagination.
  18. I'm not saying I buy his story, but it's perfectly within reason to me that if you have a record that's not supposed to leak under any circumstances, but you want your friend to at least hear it, you call him and play it over the phone. If this individual really exists, he's not interested in providing the members of mygnr a clip or sample or anything like that. Having said that, I'll still believe it when I see it. We'll know in a few days (hopefully less) if this guy is full of shit or not.
  19. 2018 is a lot later than 2010/2011 when the original MSL list came out. You're saying you don't remember Perhaps as a song title until 2018? Also, how is it you haven't heard The General yet? People have had it for a long time. People you probably know.
