  1. I’m as sceptical about a new album as it gets but I think after they released the leftovers and are still going to release another pair of them and considering everybody is busy… everybody except of uncle Axl, it would be only logical if they had given Axl material to work on while they’re on tour. I think it’s a possibility that that’s what they have decided to do when they took a break for 2024. Slash and Duff doing solo stuff while Axl writing and recording new vocals.

But because it’s the most logical thing, it simply won’t happen. You have to be a pessimist as a GNR fan. Otherwise you will be disappointed. That’s a principle I guess.

Wait....what? People don't know Slash? He is as crossover a guitarist as there's perhaps every been....dude just infiltrated the Oscars the other week and next he's vlogging with Skateboarders or slipping into Demi's DM's....

There are people who aren’t interested in rock music or in pop culture in general. They don’t know who Slash is. They don’t know Axl either. They might have heard of GNR but there are even a lot of people who don’t even know the band.

I think for a rock guitarist there aren’t many out there more famous than Slash. The top hat, sunglasses, curly hair and the cigarette is a trademark. It’s what people think of first, when they think of the typical rock star. I’d say back in the day Axl Rose was the most known member of GNR. Now it’s Slash. Easily. But yeah, not everybody is into this kind of music.

A random live performance on a tuesday where Slash was probably drunk, compared to a studio take where he knows this is for eternity, is always going to be different of course, and I think it would have still inspired the same performance if they kept that arrangement. We would have gotten the same song, except longer.

I’m with Voodoo on this. I tended to be complaining about the fade out in the past but now I think it’s the best way to end this song. An amazing song needs an amazing ending. Stop it when it’s perfect and that’s the perfect moment right there.

Kind of hard to keep track of what Slash is doing, even for me being on the forum ahah. I saw a video of Slash touring with Myles recently and I looked at recent setlists, thought he was touring with him. Too many side projects.

Sorry if those are covers, didn't know.

Still, that doesn't change the fact that I have a hard time understanding the point. I just feel it's wasted energy and talent.

Kind of like some bands releasing a new album every year or every two years, more often than not it's pointless.

I'd prefer Axl, Slash & Duff working on a real album, for 3, 4, 5 years if they need to and committing to it. Not doing ANYTHING except focusing on their own band.

If everyone goes on tour, doing their side projects and albums/covers/whatever, how can they ever work together properly? It's just something I don't understand.

So again, a lot of people blame Axl, but from what I'm seeing, the problem seems to be that everyone is doing whatever they want beyond Gn'R Tours.

I think if Axl would be willing to work on new material Slash and Duff were the last persons on earth who wouldn’t be on board full time. They might even gave him stuff to work on. Sorry but seeing those guys work ethic and looking at the records they’ve released in the past 30 years, it’s not understandable to me how someone can put the blame on somebody but Axl for the lack of new GNR music.

Nobody can force you to like Slash’s music outside of GNR but if you don’t like his music with Myles then one should think you’d be happy if there’s a change, all the more when GNR music is no option. Again… Slash releasing solo records isn’t preventing GNR to release music. It’s the opposite. GNR not making music is the reason Slash and Duff have so many side projects.
Considering this new side project is a great step back to the roots and very well produced by someone like Mike Clink😉. Again it’s ok if you don’t like it, but I think it’s obvious why others are exciting to get new fresh music by their favourite artists.

Maybe that was more inconvenient to them than using both his hands to balance the bags and then Beta using one of her free hands to cover both their heads from the rain? You know, like what normal people would do. I consider myself a strong enough man and I often use both my hands when carrying more than one bag, actually, I almost always use both my hands for that. People complaining about Beta shielding Axl while he carried bags is probably one of the stupidest thing fans have taken issue with here for a long time.

Or hey, to be a proper gentleman Axl should carry both the bags himself (of course, a lady shouldn't have to carry stuff, not even umbrellas), lifted his head backward so he looked straight up, opened his mouth wide, and then jammed the umbrella handle down his throat making him into the equivalent of a human parasol. That way Beta wouldn't have to do anything at all. Of course, he would have to use his feet to find his path back home, he couldn't see anything when looking straight up, searching for the pathway and avoiding the trees and grass, because he couldn't dare ask Beta to help him with directions. She is there just for companionship.

Sorry, without reading your post. My post wasn’t meant serious. I think this whole thread and conversation is laughable. I don’t care if Beta’s holding him the umbrella or if she’s giving him a handjob. That’s their issue and I really don’t care 😂

It's because he worked with that weird artist, Ron English (who also did the WoF cover). I thought it would look so much better if they just had a nice pic of the band with the logo above them or something like that, instead of this weird tacky stuff.

I don’t know why Slash thought Ron English was a good fit at all but I don’t judge a record by its cover

Yeah Slash has a pretty tacky style when it comes to graphic design. Just look at the Apocalyptic Love album cover, it's like everything a 12 year old thinks is cool smashed together. Don't get me started on the LTD cover...

Yeah… no. I actually like the AL cover, as an album cover, a lot. It seems old school compared to his first solo record and WoF for example. But yeah, Living The Dream’s album cover, as much as I dig the record, is god awful 🤣

Honestly if they have some actual good songs like Oklahoma in the can, and break out some more UYI cuts like Breakdown, Shotgun Blues and The Garden, that would be enough to go on another tour without a new album. I'd go see that. But just going out with Monsters and Atlas seems a bit thin, but they will probably do that if the demand is there ticket wise.

Yeah I don’t expect them to release more than what they’re saying and that’s another one two combo of “new” singles with Monsters being one of them.

If we’re lucky we get another video for one of the singles. There’s nothing more to come before the next world tour, if you ask me.

It was only pulled from CD due to time constraint reasons, so I don't see it not coming out, other than for Slash or Duff saying this is shit to Axl, which they won't do when they even said yes to The General lol.

    Hope dies last

My favorite thing out of those two tracks is Steven Tyler blasting out his harmonica. So cool, I'm happy he's still doing ok.

Other than that, it's cool for what it is, it's a change from what Slash is generally playing, kind of refreshing for sure, but I don't see myself playing this on repeat and

certainly not the kind of material strong enough to justify me buying a ticket for a gig.

It's like cool little bonus tracks. I don't know whether Slash offered the material to Axl, but I can't picture him singing on these. Not for Guns anyway, doesn't suit the mood.

Looking at Slash's setlists, there's not much I'd pay for. If he'd add Back to the moment and Serial Killer, maybe. I'd love to hear those two live, my favorite songs of his.

I hope he has far better material for the album. Otherwise, just like what Duff has released, I don't see the point. I don't mean this in a harsh way, it's cool

they're still working and touring, sure, but I don't find this exciting. I even feels it diminishes their comeback for an upcoming Gn'R tour.

See, as much as a lot of people bash Axl constantly, and the lack of new real music, I enjoy his rarity. When he appears, even if it's something we've heard too many times,

    it still feels special.

I'm not even sure whether I prefer hearing average new songs than no song at all. I'm just like "yeah ok, but what's the point?".

And regarding live gigs, if the frontman is Myles Kennedy, I just can't picture myself going through this. I need a charismatic frontman to cope with all the waiting, all these people and the sweat.

Sorry, maybe this post feels a bit too negative but just what I feel.

They should do a megatour with Axl & Tyler rotating between songs and mixing their material. Or better, Gn'R + Aerosmith, with feats in each show.

Who the f wants to watch Myles for 2 hours, frankly?

Rant over, sorry, needed to be said.

I think you missed the point completely. These new songs aren't either considered for GNR nor for the Conspirators. It’s a new project on his own and Slash organised a whole blues festival which he tours through the States supported by other blues artist such as Gov’t Mule. The baking band that recorded that album is as well the band he tours it with, while the rhythm guitarist, Tash Neil, will be the lead singer.

Edit: I don’t even bother to go through the personal taste part.

Is the announcement coming in days, weeks, months?  I've been highly anticipating this release since last summer.  A Slash/Axl recording not mixed by Axl/Caram will be interesting.  Plus the rumored song cover is a legit great song.

Maybe they’re waiting for Axl to mix his vocals.

We’ll never listen to it if that’s the case.
