  1. I like the album. Doing Time sounds a lot like GnR and This Means War sounds like Metallica's song Sad But True. Good album though.

    M. Shadows has said GnR is his biggest influence.

    I can see the similarities.

yeah his screams sound like axls here and there. nice album.

  2. Well it was a reply to a guy who used the term 'more active forums' (telling people about Going Down discussions). Fernando lambasted these forums while giving his whole-hearted support to HTGTH. I presume he came on here a hour or two before he posted on HTGTH, saw some stuff he did not like (Beta being a housekeeper), worked himself into a right old rage, and then went on HTGTH to vent. He seems to be very thin-skinned. Not a good attribute for a rock manager.

as a new fan i have to say at thirst glance, most posters here looked like a bunch of bitter cupcakes. but as i got more familiar with how this band works and read more, it got clear most of them ware just frustrated fans and had good reason to feel this way.

i can see why they don't like this forum no one likes to read about her family in such a negative way. but as the manager of this band fernando needs to act more professionally and that's the problem. he's not a professional. they can't just sit there and do nothing and expect people to be positive.

  3. is it the same way with his real family? trying not to upset him to the point of controlling his actions and keeping him in the dark ? i remember something about stuart not showing him negative reviews. i thought axl was supposed to like being in control.

  4. i just don't understand how some people think if the axl reunited with slash beta would go away and everything will be okay in axl land. were there when beta and dell
started leaching axl. axl was still late, delayed albums, made cheesy videos than most people beside him thought were ridiculous, put my world on UYI and was surrounded by yes men. the only difference would be slash playing instead of bumble.

  5. Thanks for the link. I'm not finished watching it but...

    Del talks about leaks: 36m15s

talks about Slash and Duff: 54m35s

He's telling a story about him in Germany at around 1h10m40s.... I don't know if I heard right but did he say "nazi" when talking about the police? Pretty stupid to use that term....

About the release of CD: 1h13m10

    About autobiographies: 2h19m20

    About the new band: 3h05m37

Thank you for doing that! I think it's kind of amusing how he's harping on people stealing music yet he thought he didn't need to pay taxes.

Based on this interview and the op-ed pieces he's written towards the fans, I can't think of one nice thing to say about this guy.

If I were Slash or Duff (or anyone else) I would have told him the exact same thing. The guy doesn't think he needs to pay taxes, blows all his money on drugs and alcohol while he's got two kids at home, and walks hand in mouth to each band member looking for a bailout. Pathetic.

Then he has the gall to accuse fans of being thieves for downloading music that will likely never get an official release. He clearly doesn't get the music industry today - leaks are part of the business. It happens to every artist. If your music is damn good it will not hurt sales, in fact it most likely help an artist's bottom line. There are many acts out there today who have their stuff leaked well before its official release date and still sell millions and draw tens of thousands to individual shows. To whine and bitch about it, when you're supposedly part of the GNR operation, is ridiculous.

    I agree 100%.

Also I would add that it was kind of funny to hear his opinion about rock biographies, that it's often history revisionism, that the story is told in a manner that it's never their fault (the one who writes the book)...

Another funny thing is he felt the need to name all of the current bandmember to tell that they were Guns N Roses...

Yeah, I guess he's never bothered to read Axl's posts here. Still waiting for Axl to admit fault for even the smallest mistake in his life... Is there a tumbleweeds emoticon???

i agree with that biography thing to some extent. axl never admits to his fault but other members don't do it either. no one really comes to media confess their sins. reading their biography's it's either axl or just the situation and they make it sound like they couldn't do anything about it. slash has a lot more class about it than axl but none of them are taking any responsibly .i think axl at least should apologize for calling slash a cancer but even if he thinks he did something wrong he's not going to come here and say it.

  6. Del, Beta, Goldstein in the 90s and people like the Maynards exploited Axl's fragile mental state and shielded him from his real friends (Izzy, Slash, Duff).

i don't think they were his real friends either. maybe izzy. but they all did abandon him at a time. i can see why lets this people cling to him. he knows they're not going anywhere. it's just not out of love.

  7. Conspiracy theory alert here. Let's say the camp was involved in these leaks in some way, is it coincidental that the one new song leaked is a Tommy song when he is about to embark on a run of Replacements gigs? The song has been we received so a bonus for Tommy. Not sure I entirely believe this but it's a thought that just occurred to me.

yeah i was thinking maybe they're just throwing us a couple of bones after the constant negativity on the forums to keep us happy for a while. maybe it's they're way of releasing stuff for free without having to worry about the quality. and that's why only remixes and tommy's song leaked.

    or they have nothing else.

  8. Axl already made CITR much less good by not using Brian's solo. And if he would hit his head on something really hard and suddenly decide to actually release material then he's stupid enough to do the same with Atlas. Which makes me very sad.

i think thst showed his respect for his band mates. or maybe he just didn't want to pay him or something.

  9. But, because the CD could only be 74 minutes max, and it would've taken it past the limit of what a CD can store, we couldn't put Atlas Shrugged on Chinese Democracy. It wasn't worth making a two-CD album with just one song on the other CD, so hopefully, on ChiDem 2, it'll have Atlas Shrugged on there. Interesting song." (Bumblefoot, Eat More Heat, March 2013)

seems like atlas was the only song ready to go besides the one on CD. not very encouraging.

  10. I just don't understand Axl. He made life hard on his old bandmates and drove them away for... for creating the kind of music we're hearing now? Going Down is not even on par with the worst songs on UYI so what the hell? But I think Axl doesn't even know to this day what kind of music he wants to make. According to different sources Axl wanted to grow and evolve after the UYI albums yet he told in 99 that he wanted to make another AFD but wasn't allowed to do it because of Slash (wtf?).

When did Axl say he wanted to make another AFD because of Slash? Would like to read that interview.
"I originally wanted to make a traditional record or try to get back to an "Appetite [For Destruction]" thing or something, because that would have been a lot easier for me to do. I was involved in a lot of lawsuits for Guns N' Roses and in my own personal life, so I didn't have a lot of time to try and develop a new style or re-invent myself, so I was hoping to write a traditional thing, but I was not really allowed to do that." (Axl, MTV interview, 11/08/99) "So, I opted for what I thought would or should've made the band and especially Slash very happy. Basically I was interested in making a Slash record with some contributions from everybody else." (Axl, press release, 08/14/02)
Nothing in those statements says Slash did not want to make an AFD type record....considering Slash has been making that type of music since he quit Guns it is rather unlikely he would have fought Axl if he wanted to go back to their roots.....

the first one he's talking about after the break up. he's saying he couldn't write it without slash.
