To be honest, I get the impression that Slash and Duff just rock up for sound checks and shows. Slash only seems to be close to Duff and probably a bit friendly with Richard.
I doubt he ever spent a great deal of time with Kat or Fernando so quite possibly doesn’t know anything about that. Will be interesting to see how they all respond though. Probably silence until the legal stuff is solved
This is the problem with GNR. It's been about 7 years since the reunion and really we have no idea of what they are like as a band off stage. It's all CIA level secretive.

GNR arguing they own everything. Or specifically Waterhead.
They might I guess. I don't know what the legal position is around this stuff in America.

So obviously they picked a young girl from the crowd and their favourite yes man to be there photographers who would willingly sign.
I think it's a bit of a conundrum with commercial type shoots because the customer doesn't want the photos used for stuff they don't approve of and neither does the photographer. I imagine contracts can be drawn up around exclusive use but ultimately the photographer remains the copyright holder.
Someone who actually knows what they are talking about might be along shortly to clue us in.

But what if Axls sense of loyalty kicks in, as he obviously views him as close family.
Probably what happens in sport or government. You get sent to the
naughty stepback bench for a bit. When everything has cooled off and is yesterday's news you get brought back in a new position with a new job title and salary. -

The main gripe is obviously the copyright issue.
Any Americans clued up on copyright law and read GNRs case? Who actually owns the right to the images.
I don't know enough about it in the US. I did work for a company a few years ago here in the UK who tried to find a photographer who would allow them to own the images the photographer shot. I know they struggled and I'm not sure if they did find someone. Generally the photographer wants to retain copyright (and possibly it's their legal right here in the UK?)

Those of you who were here almost a decade ago might remember I reached out to Kat to do an interview about being the tour photographer for GNR.
It was a bit of a bizarre experience and all this certainly sheds some light on why.
I sent in a set of very tame questions for approval via the publicist at the time. Virtually nothing that mentioned GNR or Axl by name was approved. It all had to be taken out. I'm not talking controversial stuff here - if I recall correctly one rejected question was something like 'Do you have a favourite photo you've taken of Axl?'
It was meant to be a GNR fan forum interview with their tour photographer however by the time what was written was re-written enough to get approval you wouldn't really know she had very much to do with them at all.
For what it's worth I didn't get the impression this next to no mention of GNR or Axl allowed rule came from Kat or the publicist.

I don't think the band necessarily knows the contract situation and even less the sexual allegations. Fortus being the ex, I don't think he is cool with this at all. I doubt either Axl, Slash or Duff knows about the sexual harassment because I don't think they would cover him at all. Fernando is not someone that you need to cover up, he is only there because Axl likes the family, so I think that if they knew about it, he would be fired already.
Honestly I can only imagine organisations like GNR are rife with gossip. No way has all this been going on for 6 years with nobody hearing even a rumour or a whisper. Two things immediately spring to mind -
1. The culture in any organisation comes from the top down. Nobody behaves this brazenly at work unless they know they have tacit approval or won't be taken to task for it.
2. People turn a blind eye to all kinds of stuff everyday -sometimes for quite minor acts of self preservation. You can times that by 1000 when billions of dollars are at stake if you upset the apple cart.

For anyone who cares I added the and to the emoji selection .
Also because I was on a roll I had a go at a new Duff which to be honest looks terrible but I might leave it there for the lulz until I work out something better. I had the idea that it would be nice to have updated emojis for the whole band but I don't think i'm up to the task.
Anyway it's late now so I'm going to bed before I do anymore digital art crime.

GN'F'N'R is so f'n HARD SKOOL that it would be f'n absurd not to have an emoji that says F'N.
Do you and the f'n rest of the GN'F'N'R Fam f'n get it now?
I see. I was thinking it was deeper than that.

Can we get an emote reaction that’s just “Fn”?

I'll collect suggestions and have a play around next spare time I have. I am a bit limited in what I can do because I lack proper technical ability and tools. I'm just messing about with free internet software.

Partly because Absurd and Perhaps work as reaction words better than HS and also because I can't think of a way of conveying it pictorially.
Suggestions welcome though if people want a HS reaction.

YouTube, Reddit and Twitter (of all places) are more positive than negative.
The Rolling Stone review has been the one I liked the most.
I know what you're getting at here but really, AFD and garbage do not belong in the same sentence.

Been too busy this week and in the wrong time zone to keep on top of all this.
Finally had chance to watch the official video and overall it's nicely done. Few changes to song but it's not radically different and I liked Perhaps anyway so I think it's a grower.
Not sure what all this indicates about an album release. Is the plan for all these singles to go on an album plus other unheard stuff or are they just clearing the vaults and an album will consist of genuinely new material? Who knows? Not me!

Edited the title to reflect the no asking for links. Use your initiative to listen by all means but do not ask for links here.

He was in the same room though. They met at a restaurant, chatted, took a selfie and Axl invited him to the Greece show. That's why we're discussing it.

Yeah, I wasn’t a fan of his long legged multi layered ripped jeans and braid rimmed hat look. And his boots were awful and made him look awkward on stage. He seems more confident in his movements now and has become more active.
I don't understand why he stuck with the boots for so long. They caused so many injuries.

Just came to see if someone posted about Joe meeting Axl in Greece.
I'd love him to do the JRE.
Their political views might not exactly align but the format of the JRE I could see working with Axl. Fairly uninterrupted freestyle chat, not challenged too much on anything. Allowed to drink/smoke.
Could be really interesting and I'd bet they have some spiritual/mystic type stuff in common if nothing else.

Most interesting leg in a while. Glastonbury, the hype and the prep they obviously did because of it helped a lot I think. Might not have got DOTF returning if not for Glastonbury.
I've not followed all the shows religiously but it feels like all the show threads have been more positive than not.

I wonder if Chris Pitman's towel has anything to say about all this?
More strange goings on there too.
