  1. Stevie definitely doesn't have Malcoms feel, but I think the biggest issue has been Chris Slade... who is obviously a capable drummer, but didn't suit playing Phils songs. The latest guy is pretty good though I must say, I'd be on for seeing them with him if Phil still can't tour.
  2. Yeah, there's nothing to complain about really... don't see why it needs to be hyped considering it's a standard video, but it's better than nothing! Hopefully they continue to release whatever is on the backburner while Slash and Duff are promoting their copious amounts solo albums.
  3. Give them some live footage.... Seems to be the answer to all gnr videos. I think the music video era is over, but they could make a bit more of an effort if they want the maximum amount of attention on these songs. Minimum effort = minimum results. However!! This is at least a step in the right direction considering there was no released videos for the entire Chinese album
  4. RDS Dublin 2006 - 9/10 O2 Arena Dublin 2010 - 7/10 (Vocally it was 11/10) O2 Arena Dublin 2012 - 8/10 Slane Castle 2017 - 6.5/10 (Axl wasn't great, the show dragged a bit) Madrid 2017 - 8/10
  5. Yeah I haven't gotten my head around how to do that yet either. But I am very lazy, I like plug and play! I thought that was Richard too on Monsters alongside Slash. His biggest "problem" is that he doesn't really have an identifiable sound that screams a Richard riff/solo
  6. Ha! We're all there. Except those 10 elite producer/engineers that get great sounds without sound replacement. Superior drummer is the business though! The new garageband drum sounds are pretty decent though. Now back to taking Nuno down a peg or two😄
  7. Not saying garageband isn't good software, it has definitely got way more advanced since the original version. I use it sometimes, it just reminded of some of the songs I made when I was younger using the drum sounds in GarageBand and listening back now it definitely doesn't sound awesome, but I also didn't know what I was doing back then
  8. Considering how they threw a record out in favour of this material, you really have to wonder. Biggest talking point is a guitar solo! That's all the positive press that they are talking about. They need to go into the studio with someone who will say when it's really average idea, because their self producing isn't working or whoever is producing isn't doing their job. Same can be said for many older bands, but I thought the Extreme record wasn't exciting at all. Sounded like a record made in garageband
  9. Well we can't of heard of every successful musician but that doesn't diminish what he brings to the table. You now know of him and know that he has a few platinum records, one HUMONGOUS hit song that's referenced a lot or at least was over the last 20+ yrs and he turns heads in guitar circles because he's a very talented bastard. He's also top level douche, but wouldn't we all be a bit douchey if we were told how great we are everytime we left the house?
  10. Complete douche. Talented guitar player and he has written some great songs in the past (there's nothing great about the new record).
  11. Who the hell knows? More than likely what will happen is this extended break and a few shows will start getting announced and before we know it they'll be back on the road. The more hopeful / naive side is that Slash writes a lot on the road, he can send ideas to Axl and when the SMKC tour concludes he can jump into making a record. Anything is possible however unlikely. Back to the realist: I just don't see what they can do differently on a tour if they aren't promoting a new album. They've dug into the deep cuts on AFD and UYI, there really isn't anything further they can do beyond the occasional guest spot of Adler and Izzy which wouldn't be promoted ahead of time. Basically if they aren't making a brand new record this year before eventually restarting the touring then it is never happening.
  12. The way you frame it is funny. Like Dave was calling Axl every night hounding him. It's more likely Axl was calling Dave talking about the old band, what he should do musically now and and Dave was trying to get off the phone because his ear was getting burnt off😄 As far as Dave being out of the biggest band for 3yrs and not having done anything... well, that didn't hurt his ability to land himself in the drum seat with GNR (however short lived). And what constitutes as nothing to you or I might actually be a lot more, but maybe it just wasn't major label stuff OR he just took a career break which is fair enough he had the money! If Axl wanted Dave, Dave would have been in GNR... well, Axl did want Dave.... that's why he hired him, Dave was the one who left, unless you have another story saying otherwise from someone who was actually there. Speculation is fine, but when the guy who it happened to is telling the story and you're say "nah, I know what really happened" it's a bit of a head-scratcher. Does Dave have a history of making up BS claims? the few interviews he's given over the years seem very matter of fact to me. As far as as Dave not getting inducted in the RNRHOF, that was a Eddie thing. You can say he's grown a lot over the years... which might be true, but if you read other members of PJ talk about Eddie and the PJ song writing process there is 100% some dissatisfaction with how Eddie controlled the songwriting. Maybe things have got more democratic between them since though
  13. Yeah it definitely doesn't sound like the label wanted one of their most successful bands to reunite and make them a boatload of cash. What part of this story is new? We all knew the labels interest in the record and where they really wanted to take things. I think they eventually gave up though around the time of the "Mr Rose can finance his recording sessions" statement. I actually love that they failed to push him into it. Also no surprise the spineless Doug OR any manager for that matter would be working with the label hoping for big cash paydays
  14. 10 yrs ago I would have said there's no chance of anything like this ever happening with AC/DC. Now I wouldn't be one bit surprised if a very short statement was released a week before the first date of any supposed tour "welcoming Axl back, thanks to Brian for all his work". I don't expect it, but it just wouldn't surprise me, I expect Brian to go out with AC/DC and struggle and then MAYBE there's a conversation about postponing or calling Axl.
  15. I think vocally he improved in some areas too, obviously got a little worse in other parts but 2023 was not a bad year IMO. When he comes back with the corn everybody will want the short hair again
  16. I think it went beyond the select fans of forums. There's still discussions about Axls tour with AC/DC by journalists and fans which are more often than not complimentary. Happy Brian is back of course, but they are still saying that AC/DC with Axl was incredible. Now, that's not extensive research, just some fans I've talked to, articles, podcasts and comment sections I've come cross across. Possibly Axl continuing with AC/DC would have been a bad career move in terms of public perception, I think many would have put him into the role of the person stealing AC/DC away from Brian, especially if Brian was out doing guest appearances with Muse, Foo Fighters etc. and looking like he was fit to perform to some standard.
  17. Worst career moves is Axls short hair? not refusing to promote Chinese Democracy? Not all the going stage hours late for 20yrs? ah come on! As far as looks, I think he looked the best he's looked in years on this recent tour, slimmer and the hair looked a bit more natural than when he first appeared with the short hair. More attractive? eh, no comment😄
  18. Axl obviously made an excellent decision fronting AC/DC. Completely rehabbed his perception among casual fans, and made people even more excited about the gnr shows. What exactly are the reasons against? Besides the iffy speculation that it blew his voice.
  19. If this is true then why aren't more gnr fans listening to Izzy's solo material? I think his music without the others is a bit forgettable, not bad but they sound like demos His material as the foundation, but Duff, Slash and Axl all worked on it to make it what it became.
  20. Yeah, he's not awful by any means. But he's far less memorable when he plays now. What's weird is that he can still play all his old material is ease if he wants so it's not that he's lost his edge technique wise. I guarantee if he plugged into his UYI rig tomorrow he'd sound 100 times better
  21. I just don't see why they'd spend the guts of two months rehearsing with another drummer to then decide to change and bring Chris Slade back in. Not saying it's out of the question, but it would be odd.
  22. Personal vendetta, as if I come on here searching for your dumb thought of the day🤣 I'm not a fan of your snotty personality on here though, and do enjoy reminding you when you're being a complete hypocrite/idiot... You obviously wouldn't realise this, so I'm here to help. Consider it personal growth coaching, no charge or thanks needed☺️
  23. Laughable. The man always moaning about people not accepting personal preferences is giving out about peoples personal preference🤣 Absurd.
