  1. Funny, we had lots of crowd surfers too at Graspop, first time for me (at least so many), and I'm always front row or a few rows in. But most came when Alter Bridge was on, it was like a steady stream at some points. I'm happy it wasn't too many during Guns because I hate having to look back all the time making sure there wasn't a boot in your face. I just want to enjoy the show in peace
  2. Reviews don't matter to me per se, but I still like to see positive reviews of my favourite band
  3. No, agreed. Thing is, in Belgium at least they've never been popular with the press. And some reviews were just meanspirited and not fair at all. There's the bias against Axl mainly. One reviewer even said Axl has no charisma and seemed uninterested. WTF. There's enough valid criticism to be made, but let's be fair at least. My sister saw GNR for the first time at Graspop. I would call her a casual at most, I don't think she ever listens to GNR and pretty sure she's never heard CD. She goes to a lot of shows of all sorts of genres, and she said that Axl obviously doesn't sound anymore like he used to, but you could see he was going for it and giving his all for three hours and she really loved the band too. I think it's also about your expectations going in.
  4. The reviews will be bad going off Graspop and Copenhell. It got a great reception around where I was standing and in one newspaper they called it the best performed song! It can't go 😁
  5. That's too bad. Same as Belgium then. Very odd that now the forum seems positive, the reviews seem worse than ever. I often thought in the past the press was quite mild, while the forum was very harsh. Now it seems to be the other way around. Were you at the show?
  6. Down on the farm is so great, so much fun ❤️
  7. But he was announced and is on all the promo. He had the kid when they made the plans. That sucks. I hope it clears up in an hour 🤞🏻
  8. Plus there were already problems in the VR says with Matt demanding the same exposure as Slash. Slash and Duff might not be so eager to get him back in GNR.
  9. Very odd. I wonder if he's managed to piss Gibbons off too.
  10. Agreed. I've been lucky enough to like the design for each of the shows I've been to, except for Nijmegen 2017, which was very underwhelming to me. Only show I didn't get the shirt of. I would like maybe a different colour shirt again. I only have one white, but I remember the Stockholm one being dark blue once. It would be a nice change for the black.
  11. Exactly. I hope somehow this comment reaches Axl.
  12. (Sorry for spamposting) Just read another review and it was a bit milder to Axl overall, but the thing that stood out to me, was that they mentioned Absurd as one of the best performed songs, proving that the band has some kind of future besides being their own tribute band.
  13. The reviews in the newspapers are harsh. Oh well, GNR (and especially Axl) will never be a favourite in the Flemish press at least. What I find interesting is that one reviewer found the first two hours weak, but loved the last hour with SCOM, NR, Locomotive and Knocking on Heaven's Door, while I wanted to scream STOP! at them for making that song endless. I loved all the deep cuts, it really feels as a service to us diehard fans, as most casuals just call out for November Rain or Paradise City (half an hour in the set ) In another paper they say Axl has no voice and no charisma. Then again, he says he was standing with his back to the stage when Duff sang and thought: Oh, he's getting better. Seriously, who could mistake Axl's voice for Duff's? He sounds a bit bitter as well because the press wasn't allowed to take pictures, apparently, and the reviewer ends with the snide remark Axl has only maintained his arrogance from his glory days. I did see photographers in the beginning, though, and in another newspaper I saw pics of last night, so that's fake news. But what can you expect from papers who still start off every review with: Contrary to what we're used to, GNR only started 3 minutes late I didn't mind Brownstone gone, but people around me were shouting for it, so it was definitely missed. From where I was standing, 7 rows or so on the right side, so near the stage, I felt I was between mostly diehards who could sing along to most songs, except for Hard Skool. There was some moshing now and then, so I felt that the audience was good, throughout the whole show. But my friend who was in front of Duff, a few rows in, said it was dead around her. So she had the feeling the crowd was lame. This was my 10th show and I think it was one of the best. The setlist was great and I really feel if it hadn't been for the curfew, we might have gotten a surprise, or maybe just Brownstone. Because Axl was really into it. It's really great to see him so happy on the tour this year. It makes me think that by the end of it, we'll have seen a few surprises and some great shows. This show didn't have those dead times like I sometimes have in other shows, where it's slow song after slow song around the middle of the set, I felt this was a lot more balanced. I think it's been mentioned before, but I felt Absurd got a better reception than Hard Skool. When Absurd started, people started getting into it immediately. Tbh, I didn't check if they stayed into it after that, because I had a great time watching Axl do it. Whenever that loud scream comes, he pointed at Melissa, I don't know why, but I thought it was really funny
  14. Two or three, I suppose. I see DOTF as a GNR song though.
  15. Great show with 8 songs I hadn't seen yet. Happy.
  16. Pc Axl: Curfew, parting is such sweet sorrow
  17. Axl said they did a multiple choice for the song and decided on this, hope you like it: locomotive Kohd
  18. Dtj Axl said they played the acdc song for themselves, for fun
