  1. I'm sure the guys in the band aren't happy with Axl coming late to every show. But they knew that when they signed on. I'm just sick of the silly excuses. The limo driver got lost? Give me a break.

    Of course he got lost.

Haven't you learned already? Axl never does anything wrong. He has, actually, never done anything wrong during his life. It's *ALWAYS SOMEONE ELSE*.

You sound like you know the guy pretty well, how long you two been buddies?

don't have to, you read enough interviews, press releases, rants etc. You quickly figure out the pattern of blame, whether it's Niven, or Izzy, or Goldstein, or Merck, or Azoff or Bucket... It's always someone else's fault

That's a cop out explanation for the blanket statement you made, "He has, actually, never done anything wrong during his life". Frankly, to make such a blanket statement that pertains to the man's life in its entirety, you should actually know him personally, or else you are talking out of your ass.

    Ali

No offense, but doesn't constantly playing devil's advocate come with it's fair share of assumptions?

Whether he's right or wrong, Axl does have a habit of blaming everyone but himself for GNR's lack of progress throghout the years.

  2. So...What are the chances of us seeing this album in 2011? :shrugs:

    Axl? Beta? Anyone?

Slim to none. My hope for 2011 is to see a US tour plus have some sort of announcement that work of the 2nd album is underway with an idea to release in early 2012. Perhaps even get a name for the album too.

Yeah, the next album in 2011 would be a shocking surprise. Not having any management (that we know of) as well as the laundry list of lawsuits, I'd say Axl's plate is full. Which is shame, cuz it's the fans that loose out on hearing new music.

It would be nice if we at least knew what the title is. Calling it "CD2" is getting old.

  3. I think Ron sounds pretty ungrateful the way he talks about Axl wanting to put out the rest of the Chinese Democracy Era tracks, stressing that they're 10 years old with players that have been gone for 5 years. The vast majority had no idea who 'Bumblefoot' was prior to him joining Guns, and Axl went out of his way to make sure Ron was all over Chinese Democracy and the followup.

Maybe that's why Axl's having this interview deleted wherever he can, namely HTGTH.

It seems like most of the fans are extremely psyched to hear the rest of the CD Era tracks. Bring it on!

  4. fact is, the people that left the band 7+ years ago are more of a prominent feature in Guns N' Roses 2011, then a guy (Bumblefoot) who has been in the band for half a decade and hasn't once yet set foot in a studio to lay down tracks of his own, and not just solos on old songs.

Thats the situation, and its a sad state of affairs as Bumbles talent has basically not been utilized to its full potential at all since being in Guns.

    Axl, "what were you thinking?"

I'm sure, like myself, Axl was hoping Buckethead would come back.

They've made it known that the reason Ron joined so close to the 06 tour start was because they were trying to negotiate a way to get Buckethead back. Even as recent as the Axl chats he expressed interest in having Bucket tour with them in some capacity. Nice to know all is not lost if for whatever reason Ron decides he doesn't want to stick around. :shrugs:

  5. Well here's a shocker. That creepy horror pit HTGTH keeps deleting this interview.

I would imagine it's because it mentions GNR possibly doing, you know, stuff.

he really did it?, he such a fucking idiot, i mean its not a rumor, its a member of the band just saying how it is, and its not like the interview is really condemning the new band in a bad way, jarmo is a that bad RA that everyone hates

The 4 people who post at his site seem to like it. ;)

But yeah, no idea why he would censor it. It's a legit interview.

  6. Why would the label give Axl more money to record new material when he already has two albums worth of material? The only way the label would give him more money to record a new album is if it was the Appetite or Illusions lineup recording that album.

This. I highly doubt Axl would want to fully commit to recording a whole new album until he puts out this one. Think of all the time and money that was spent to record the Chinese Democracy albums. There's just no way either Axl or the label would be interested in throwing all those songs away simply to start fresh to appease Ron.

Im sure Axl put a lot of heart and soul into writing the yet unreleased songs. Until he finds a way to share them with the world, I doubt we'll see Guns 3.0 move into the studio. While I don't expect Ron to be in love with that idea, I do hope he rolls with it for the sake of the band and the fans.

  7. Bumblefoot has been in Gnr for 5 years now and he hasn't been in the recording studio yet?

I dont blame him for being a bit pissed off too, Axl should be having these guys in the studio EVERY DAY when they aren't touring. Such a waste of talent , 5 years not not recorded anything?

love the band, hate the mechanics.

He's on literally every song on CD, and stated he recorded on "a good handful" of tracks that will be on the next. Not really sure what he's so upset about here.

I get that he wants to be a credited writer, but his mark is all over one of the most hyped up rock albums of all time, and its followup. Not really sure his involvement merrits this type of griping.

If I were him, I'd get behind getting the CD followup out, and then worry about getting in the studio with the current lineup.

He hasn't "written or recorded anything new" with the band. Any material he is on, is the 10 year old chinese democracy era tracks, which, even though they are new and fresh to us, would basically mean that Ron has to climb mt Everest to see the horizon of 'bbf/dj/4tus/frank material.

Yeah, but the whole "trilogy" idea is nothing new. I get why he would be getting the itch to do some real writing with the band, but he had to know that Axl wasn't going to simply toss away two epic albums worth of material just to appease Bucket & Robin's replacements.

Either way, my guess is that we'll get one more album, possibly a double , from the CD era, and that'll be that and then Axl will maybe do some stuff with the current lineup.

Agreed man, don't get me wrong, I want buckets +fincks material from guns more then anyone, but I can sympathize with Ron. He must be having an itchy finger wanting to lay some of his own material down, instead of just laying down new guitar solos on old material.

Agreed that you can't blame Ron for wanting to write, but he's willingly made himself part of a bigger picture, what with the wealth of material that had been recorded prior to him joining.

That said, I'm sure not even Axl thought that we'd now be well into 2011 with no release date in sight for the next album (that we know of) going by his hope for a "same bat time, same bat channel next year" comment after CD's initial release. I'm sure Ron thought that once CD came out, the other followups would certainly be out by now.

Wish Axl would fill us and the band in on the status of the next one. Would make everyone relax a bit.

  10. No offense, but the title of your thread is quite misleading. Having recorded songs, or having done most of the recording for the songs, that could fill up to two albums does not mean that two albums are ready to go. For an album to be ready to go, recording has to be completed, song selection and sequencing have to be completed, and mixing and mastering have to be done.

The truth is that the only person's opinion that matters as far as the level of completion of the other songs is Axl's. If he feels that the recording isn't quite complete, then there definitely are NOT two albums "ready to go". And, again, even if recording is completed, mixing and mastering still have to be done, among other things for the records to be "ready to go".

    Ali

You're kind of splitting hairs here. He confirmed that two more albums worth of material exists, and that those are the only GNR albums he sees getting released soon. Save for some possible mixing and mastering, doesn't that make them more or less ready to go? What's not to get excited about?

We don't have much to be happy about these past couple of months, I'd count this as good news.

Would it make you feel better if he changed "ready to go" to "exists"? :shrugs:

  11. Thing is, there's still no release date on the horizon for the second Chinese Democracy album. How can the band move forward and grow if steps are not being taken to get that album out?

The album's been recorded and paid for, so what's the holdup? Has there been any progress?

This is what the fans want to know right now...

Axl is probably making sure that the label gets the booklet right this time. This is great news though. Scrapping the rest of CD in favor of a Ron and DJ album wouldn't be in the tradition of winning.

Yeah, I would assume Axl would be meticulously going through everything to make sure this release is in no way botched. Let's just hope he finishes up whatever he has to do sooner than later.

    The fans are ready Axl!

  12. why do i get the feeling that in a few days someone from the band is gonna shoot this down

They'd also have to shoot down the laundry list of people, including Axl Rose, who have confirmed this to be the case over the years.

Either way, hearing these songs would close a chapter in all of our lives, including Axl's. Fans have been talking about The General, Atlas Shrugged, Zodiac, Silk Worms, Soul Monster, etc. for forever, and will continue to until they are all eventually released.

  13. "The only music that is going to be coming out at this point that I see from G’N’R is going to be from 10 years ago with players that have been gone for 5 years and maybe alternative mixes of songs. So it’s like a big chapter in Axl’s musical life that has yet to be closed."

No offense to Ron, Frank, & DJ...But THANK GOD!!

It means just as much to the fans who have been following the new band since 1999 that we hear the rest of the music from this era as well. It will close a chapter for many of us.

  14. Ron said no one was asked to remove anything and that all the "credible" GNR sites were taking it down of their own choosing.

Someone just lost a bit of credibility. :shrugs:

    No, I don't think so.

I think Ron was referring to the "youthinkso" post, not the MSL crap.

    Ali

I thought he was referring to everything that was being removed. Keep in mind it was MSL's comments that brought Ron to post on this site in the first place.

I do not think so. I think it was specifically in reference to the "youthinkso" posts which were made on 02/22, and Ron's tweet was on 02/24.

    Ali

If that's the case, then I take back my statement about Ron. I still think it's a horrible PR move to bully a fansite on the part of GNR's legal team.
