  1. Look, if Axl wants to be the new Kenny G or Richard Claydeman he has to be honest about it and doing it. He has to give up GN´R (old and new) and do anything he wants. He has to make up his mind the sooner, the better. Nobody else can do it for him

Just because he put ONE song in the album with that kind of style it doesn't mean he has to announce himself as whatever. After all it's his band now. Art and artists are free, this is not a Middle East regime.

  2. Sure he left VR, but not before two albums and tours. Can we agree that at least he tried? Two albums must count for something I guess...

I'm not saying anything bad about Slash... Actually I'm saying the same everyone here said. He can't work with people like Rose or Weiland because of their personality and his own. That's all. It doesn't imply that he's not talented, hard-worker or that he doesn't want to make music.

  3. well, Slash, Duff, Matt and Dizzy showed up on rehearsals in 1994 onwards... Axl doesn't

so your argument is invalid as always

Awww... Insider...Were you at the rehearsals? How nice. I wish I was lucky as you to have been there right in the middle of everything!

Either way, Slash left because he couldn't work with Rose and Weiland, two singers with strong personalities, not malleable like the dying cat he's got now. Slash is a diva in his own way.

So your interferences are invalid as always :)

  4. Yeah, Slash always wanted to be the boss. That's why he agreed to form a band with ex-bandmates and an unstable famous 90s singer. Clearly shows the guy can't work unless he's on control.

I knew you'd get it right because you're like the smartest guy in this forum.

Clearly, Slash always wanted to be the boss and he can't work unless he's on control, hence, the GNR and VR failure and he left.

    Love you, GG :)

  5. "I thought outside the box and I was really taught that it's better to create your own job than to work nine to five. So that's always been my mindset, and I just love creating."

I agree with that statement as well and I can't believe some people give hell to Ashba just because the guy likes working, building companies and making money

    #theattackofthebums

Quote me one post where you see someone attacking this statement.

Like every time there is an Ashba post about the things he does that are not related to music, they have to bash him. Like there would be restriction as to how many jobs one can have and how many industries one can work at the same time. Really stupid way of thinking. No wonder why those people are always on a budget.

Good for him. Nobody is bashing him for wanting to make money. He is going about it in a smart way.

BUT..........I saw on one of his pages where he said his "main goal" in life is to get his clothing line in national retail stores.

Personally, I'd hope that the guitar player in my favorite bands "main goal in life" would be to write, record and release the best rock album of all time.

I wonder if Jimi, Stevie, Clapton, Keith, Joe, Randy, Slash main goals in life were to create the best guitar-driven music possible......or was it to create a profitable clothing line?

Guns n Roses hit it big and captured the attention of a nation because they were a band driven by a group of guys whose main priority in life was.........Guns n Roses. If GnR had been the "side project" for Slash, Axl, Duff and Izzy, you would have had Poison.

Ashba can do all that because GN'R is not his band. Axl is the boss and Axl is the one responsible for all things GN'R. I don't know what you really want and demand from Ashba... what else he can do??

I'm sure he has written a lot of stuff for GNR, presented ideas to Axl and what not but in the end, it's not up to him to decide when to release an album or anything about the image and future of Guns N' Roses. Judging him on duties he's not required to do I feel it's pretty unfair.

As for Jimi, Keith, Slash.... man, not to offend you but this is 2015 and Ashba is a guy from a way younger generation of musicians who are approaching music during a VERY ROUGH time in music industry. You can't really compare the times those people you are mentioning lived and became famous with this era.

I swear I don't know how in the hell being a musician and a cloth designer are incompatible or even why he is not allowed/supposed to do both thing if he's got the time, the drive and the energy to do it. It worries me there are people in this world putting limits and barriers to young people.

I kind of identify with Ashba, even though I'm several years younger than him but I'm somewhat living the same kind of things and nowadays its pretty common for people in their 30's or 40's to start building up their business and trying things here and there. There's nothing wrong with it. There shouldn't be anything wrong with it, for fuck's sake!!

After all, Duff McKagan plays music and WRITES books, newspaper columns, makes videos, went to College and also gives financial advices to young musicians. Please tell me how is all that so wrong or incompatible??

Please, don't ever discourage a young person from achieving their dreams and setting up and securing their future.

I applaud Ashba for being constant with all of his endeavors, whether it's with music, clothing line or whatever he wants to do. We need more people like him in this world and less bums and less old people reaching their 60's or 70's without a roof of their own.

Long live to youth, hard-work and motivation to grow in life!

  6. I know its nothing wrong to wish Happy father's day, but well they don't wish Slash cause they think Axl will get angry about it that why Slash is being mentioned, so well they shouldn't have posted about fathers day either, maybe it would remind Axl about his past and about Erin or Dylan? Basically my frustration is about that the GNR social media pages just post things not related to the band and they do post retarded shit

Slash has been out of the band for almost 20 years. I don't see why they should mention him. And in that case, Duff should be mentioned as well... What would be correct to do is to congratulate the ones who are fathers in the current lineup, which I think they did last year.

And uh, I really doubt Axl is annoyed or still hurt by a miscarriage that happened like 30 years ago and about a kid who's not his and who he hasn't seen in like 25 years as well.

Well I guess everyone should be mentioned from the old band in anything related to the GNR Music from Appetite to the illusions as they are the ones who composed, it doesn't matters who left when, even Robin Fink should be mentioned, Josh Freese, buckethead should also be mentioned as they contributed to the band, the fact is that Slash is never mentioned cause Axl and him don't have good relationship with each other, thats why i pointed out the Son Father or Father Son relationship in this, the GNR social media is a joke anyways

It would be a total drag to be mentioning every single person in the GNR camp who is a father.... seriously, is that what you want? :sleeper:

About Slash, I couldn't care less.... I know he's part of GNR big success and great hits but yes, OF COURSE, he's not mentioned because of his fall out with Axl... what do you expect?

After all, it is Axl's band now and if he isn't allowed to feel ok within his own organization then where else can he rule?

I don't think Slash thinks or cares about this at all.

  7. Who are you to criticize? Do you have as many Twitter followers as GNR? Are you in a successful band? Stop giving life advice! Hypocrite. :)

Wow, you fail so much at trying to copycat me.

Next time make sure the thing makes some sense.

Difference is that I wasn't criticizing anything here, I was merely telling him that just because people are not fathers is not a reason to not greet other fathers.

Nothing similar to you, telling Axl Rose (a world famous singer/songwriter/composer) how to and when to release an album and how to perform a show.

  8. Oh, I didn't realise that only artists on a similar level of success were allowed to criticize. We'd better shut the board down then.

That is not criticism. That's plain gossip and opinion. Comments like when you go to the grocery store and chat with other neighbors about the weather or the current government.

The things you said here sound pretentious as if you had any experience or knowledge in the music business/industry. It's like me trying to give advice to basket players or football players on how they should run their careers and have a successful winning match. Completely useless and worthless nonsense from a person who hardly ever touches any type of ball.

  9.
