  1. I think a manager specially hired to handle the "reunion" business is the right solution for this.

I see the reunion as a separate entity that can work and exist on it's own withouth damaging current GNR line up.

TB will not be kicked out, they would still work with the current line-up and someone else chosen by Axl, Slash and Duff would be dedicated to the reunion line up.

A reunion of such a band cannot have unexperienced people like the Lebeis family managing it.

    • Has anybody reached out to Fernando on FB or twitter? He refers to GnR as "his band" - so maybe he knows what his band's future looks like for the rest of 2015 and 2016.

    Didn't you heard the news?

    He has reproduced himself!!!

In like 7 months we will have grandpa Axl touring again because he has to feed the new one, so don't worry my friend, in 2016 we will see Fernando's band doing a new Vegas or SA tour because someone has to bring money home, someone has to maintain that baby alive!

  2. I heard that River Plate cd on a flight. I think I mentioned in relation to GNR releasing a similar cd. Kind of if you buy the bonus cd set.

But I'll check that ACDC show. There's just so many cool moments on A4D though. Admittedly not all like vocal related. I remember This I Love being kind of impressive.

Argentina audience will always give you an amazing CD or DVD to make about.

If GNR show in Argentina in 2010 wasn't such a turd regarding sound, that would have been the show to make a DVD about!

Axl was fucking amazing, running around, with lots of energy and will to put on a good show, crowd was maaaaad.... BUT THE FUCKING SOUND JESUS CHRIST, I WANNA BLOW MY HEAD OFF

  3. I haven't seen enough footage of him recently to say whether he doesn't smile any more but if it is the case remember he is going through a divorce.

No matter how unhappy he was you don't totally walk away from 19 years together and the mother of your children without reprecussions/sadness/mixed emotions - despite the new/old girlfriend and matching tatts.

I'm pretty sure it's him who filed the divorce, not the other way around.

And even though it's always a tough thing, Slash is not like a regular guy going into depression because of that and he's certainly not staying at home crying for his marriage gone wrong.

He got into a new relationship pretty soon and that's always way better than going through divorce sad and alone.

  4. 2mg7gc9.jpg

    what a cool guy!

If I was Axl I wouldn't wanna lose him as a friend. They both care about each other and they seem very happy with their new found relationship. Duff has gone all the way eating his natural human pride to get Axl back in his life and I admire him for that. At this point, Duff is my favorite GNR member by far.

  5. He didn't say he had the power to reunite them.... He thinks that if they came back to the place where it all started (some dirty old warehouse) they would remember how good everything was and amazing music would come out of it. So he kinda offered that place to hold the reunion, with no managers, no leeches, only them alone there....

and that's where i say this is bullshit

Marc said in the other thread that this will work IF they worked their differencies BEFORE that romantic dirty old warehouse

Do they really need him, if this happens? really?

for fucks sake, give me a break

Eh anyway, fuck knows, this is just fantasy after all

No they don't need him. They don't need anyone but themselves. It's all up to those 5 guys and that's it.

But that's his fantasy.... We all can dream about our own private REUNION... I mean, in my world, Reunion would take place in a house I own in the south of Argentina. It'd be the perfect place, with bonfire and snow and furry things everywhere....

Either way, I really doubt the dirty old warehouse will cause any emotion in them, more like Axl would be like ewww, where is my Versace jacket ffs!!!???

  6. Well it's not Axl Roses job to spoon-feed you if you don't have the requisite cognitive abilities to figure out that a joke is a joke. In the context of a jaunty upbeat song, where on the cover of the album it says its a joke you're STILL confused by what 'take it what it is' might mean? The whole point he says take it what it is instead of 'disclaimer, this song is made in good humour and not designed to be a clarion call for widespread abuse of the female species' is perhaps he doesn't want to insult his audience THAT fucking badly

As far as the retard thing, it's clearly a colloquialism to denote someone stupid. See this is how language works, through common usage words take on a different meaning, this happens in language all the time, look at the word 'gay' and what it originally meant.

Also, since we're purposely looking for stuff to be offended about then don't call me 'dude', i find it offensive because the original meaning of the word was used to mock men that were sartorially inclined and equate them to women, look it up.

See how ridiculous that is? Thank you.

I really don't know why you put yourself in this place of attacking a person for their opinions and taste in music. Calling them retards, stupid, fools... that never made anyone win an arguement, all the contrary it makes you look like someone who is desperately trying to hurt others, even if you don't know who those people are.

As I said before, 'Used To Love Her' lyrics are not a masterpiece worded out by Hegel, Kant or Adorno. I really doubt there's anyone out there who doesn't take the song as a joke in first place.

When I was 12 years old I laughed my ass off at it. Now in my thirties, I don't find it funny anymore.

This is not due to stupidity, retardness or lack of 'cognitive abilities' to understand jokes or humour in general. This is because I've become aware of certain problems in our society and as part of it, as an adult person, I don't support that kind of message and I don't see how I'm wrong with that.

Not that I supported it when I was 12, but you know when I was young there was so many things I was never told...

How dare you sit there and patronise me, a grown man of 31 years of age, and tell ME what going on in MY head and what certain songs will or won't establish. I was born in 1983, i been listening to GnR since 1992, i was 9 years old when i first heard Used To Love Her and I'm 31 now and the whole time it didn't establish jackshit in my head. It's my my brain and my life, if you want to know whats going on in it, you ask me, you don't tell me. And thats the root of the issue, thats what the essence is here, you're generalising about the male species and how they function and respond and react to things and it's absolute bullshit and MUCH more sexist that what you are trying to point out about the potential a song might have to a minority of people who are not well in the head.

    Minority of people...

I think you're seriously disconnected from reality and certainly don't have a clue of what you're talking about. You're a very uninformed grown man of 31 years of age.

    You patronize yourself, sir.

There are vast academic studies on UFOs too, that don't make em any less bullshit. Yes, there is an element of truth in them but the element of truth in Used To Love Her isn't in the murdering aspect, the element of truth that makes it relatable and funny is the concept of being nagged, because EVERYBODY can understand that, THATS where it draws people into the humour, not the murder, this is you not getting the joke and running with it basically.
    That's YOUR interpretation.
In my interpretation, the element of truth that makes it relatable and fun for a guy, is the fact of singing a victory song over some woman who drove him nuts. She was nagging him so he made her shut up.
    And she shut up.
Laughing at it is like becoming a partner in crime with who's singing it. It's a shared secret or wish some men have in their back of their minds.
Not everybody will act upon it, of course, but having it in a song it's the perfect scenario for this fantasy.
The song doesn't harm anyone in real life but everytime you play it and sing along to it, you're having this crime reenacted.
This is the reason why I don't want to take part in it anymore. I don't have this fantasy inside of me.

Well then say that then, that YOU just don't like it, don't imply there's something wrong with it because there isn't.

I said it, one hundred times.... You just don't read!

  7. Anybody that bases their actions on a song or a movie is dangerous in that they are unable to discern the difference between right and wrong, thats not the songs doing, its called having a mental disturbance, art cannot be dictated to by the fact there are crazy people in the world or art wouldnt exist.

How are you supposed to know its not to be taken serious? Well if you are that retard Axl made provisions for that on the front cover, it states there clearly that its a joke and nothing more...and if perchance you hear it without the album cover to hand then he even says in the song 'take it for what it is'.

You're right, it is about a man killing a woman...although if you wanna get really deep about it it could be a gay guy killing another gay guy, since you're getting deep into this, the words 'she' 'her' 'bitch' could just as easily mean that, how did you know it was about women without clarification? I'll tell you why, cuz you got a brain in your head, the same brain that tells you dont take songs literally and act upon what you think they are saying, that is the difference between me, you and a psycho.

    A retard?

That's a sad expression, dude.... I don't think people are retards for not reading Axl's provisions on his songs. Much less now that you just download the music without none of that. 'Take it for what it is' is not much of a clarification to me... what is it, Axl? :shrugs:

I agree with you that it takes way more than just a song for someone to completely let go of their minds and lose it like that. But I do believe messages are messages and maybe those lyrics will not make you literally go murder your girlfriend, but they will establish some common notions about shutting up women who complain or who bother you.

Jokes are fun because they mostly have an element of truth to them. There are vast academic studies on why jokes make us laugh and the whole psychology behind it.

At this point, I don't know who they are about. The obvious is about a man killing a woman. But since the world has become complicated and the obvious is not obvious anymore, I guess they can be about men, women, children, dogs, cats, snakes and your grandmother...

In ANY case, I dont like them. I don't like singing about killing people or animals.

Axl can fuck himself. I have my own opinions.

P.S.: I love you Axl, I was kidding, you're my prince.. please don't rant about me

Plus, they don't come with instructions on what is the correct way to understand their meaning so that no one takes offense.

    And they shouldn't.

I honestly didn't mean to upset you homie. Your comment just struck me because I have never heard anyone take that song for more than a joke. So I just wanted to see where you were coming from.

    I'm not upset!

I don't know how to respond to that other than... "well there's always a first time for everything"... :shrugs:

  8. Yeah but it's a song, it's sound, it's a piece of art, one meant in jest at that, how does it hurt anybody? It's ridiculous as a concept. Axls vocals co-joining with the sound of two guitars a bass and drums does not have any ability to physically harm anyone nor does it have anything to do with legislature that affords rights to whatever denomination, it's a song.

The man says 'take it for what it is' in the song...think about it. Honestly, there are actual women in some parts of the world that go through actual shit and things like that should be the focus of such things, not moaning about a song. But no ones about to do shit about that because that involves putting yourself out there.

You totally missed the point of it all. Who said the song can physically harm people? Are you out of your mind?

I know it is a song. LOL. I know it is art. LOL. But art also can send a message to a lot of people. And the lyrics to this song, just like the lyrics to One In A Million, are controversial. Plus, they don't come with instructions on what is the correct way to understand their meaning so that no one takes offense.

The lyrics to Used To Love Her are not intricated. They're not a book by Hegel.

One is not supposed to take them literally? Well.. who says so?

Some people will think it's about killing women, some people will think it's about killing a dog and more complex people will think it is about 'forgetting about someone by burying them in the back of your mind'.

I assure you 95% of people will assume is about a man killing a woman. (Sorry Axl, but if you have to explain your art then you're in trouble.)

Moaning about a song? Who's moaning?

All I said was that I agreed with the guy who made the Top List of GN'R Worst songs and put UTLH there. I agreed with the way he feels about the song because I feel the same way. Then some guy came to ask me why I felt that way and I explained to him.

I don't complain about anything. I skip that song in my iPod and my life continues.

    Big deal.

  9. Err...of course a man would change that to him.

Everything you said is all fine and well, all your opinion and all good. I still don't know what it has to do with women's rights. That's just a totally different thing.

You don't know what it has to do with women's rights or you don't want to see it?

It's not a totally different thing. Perhaps you are not very informed or this is a topic you don't care about. That's fine but just make a search on Google or something and find out how many women are killed by their partners for whatever reasons. Beaten up and killed. Raped and killed. Gender violence.

Women rights are not only about equal treatment, better salaries and other civil rights. It is also about the right to be free from violence: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Declaration_on_the_Elimination_of_Violence_Against_Women

Edit to the Mods: I'm sorry if the topic was sort of derailed.... I'm just responding the questions of a poster who questioned me about why I don't like 'Used to love her' anymore.

I guess I made my point now and that's all I'm gonna say about it. Thank you.

  10. - Used To Love Her.... I used to love it and had a laugh everytime I heard it. Now that I'm an adult and aware of women's rights I don't find it funny anymore.

What exactly do you think that song has to do with women's rights? Just curious because to me its just a break up revenge song. A woman could sing it about a man. A man could sing it about another man. A woman could sing it about another woman. Just never even thought about women's rights or anything like that.

The right to stay alive after a break up. The right to say "we're done" and not having a guy killing you because you left him. The right to move on in life without being in constant fear of having your ex-boyfriend (ex-husband) haunting you day and night until he kills you.

A man could sing it about another man? Errr... "i used to love her but i had to kill HER".

I don't care who can sing these lyrics. They are about murdering someone because you can't stand them anymore. I don't think that's a good message to be preaching around. It doesn't matter if it's a man or a woman. If you can't stand your partner anymore, just leave. Break up and move on. Don't need to kill them, beat them or burn them. Grow up and find a new one. There are plenty of humans in the planet.

    Exactly.

Hard to see anything wrong with that statement. Especially considering he prefaced it by saying if Axl and Slash ever worked out their differences before hand.

Umm... it is his vision, his dream and more like a wish. I think you can agree or disagree with it because in the end it's just his opinion, "his thing", like Duff said.

I disagree but mostly cuz I think reunion is waaaaaaay more complicated than just going back to a dirty old warehouse and be able to see their 20 years old soul there... Specially cuz these guys are fuckin' billionaires now.

Duff seems bothered by the use of footage, mostly. He likes Marc and has no beef with him. I guess a video like that sorts of interfeer in his current romance/honeymoon with Axl because it makes him look like he agrees with all those ideas and concepts behind the video. I totally understand why he feels weird about it.....

  13. At least I could laugh a bit with this article (in contrast with the shit written by Noisy whatever).

I kinda agree with most of his selection but some points:

    - You're Crazy is really good and actually I find the acoustic version way better than electric one. It's a waste of space on AFD.

    - My Michelle.... I used to like it the way it was played live during the 90's. Recently, played live and with Baz ruining it, I rather go to the bathroom.

    - The Garden... meh.... I skip it in my iPod for sure. Haven't listened to it in years.

    - Used To Love Her.... I used to love it and had a laugh everytime I heard it. Now that I'm an adult and aware of women's rights I don't find it funny anymore.

    - Bad Obsession.... I agree with the guy that it sounds awful on the album. Played live was one of my favorites.

    - One In a Million..... I like the music, I totally hate the lyrics and I can't sing to it anymore. I just cringe from having to repeat those things. I skip it sometimes or try to ignore the lyrics.

    - Back Off Bitch..... it's a meh song... the same with OIM, can't sing alone because of the lyrics.

    - So Fine.... I like it and I prefer the live versions from the 90's.

    - My World, Shotgun Blues, and I'd add Dust N' Bones, Double Talkin' Jive, Ain't the first, Anything Goes.... all of them suck to me, I skip them.

  14. i have to remind myself of all this when i start feeling like the world is really missing out on a reunion. would it be killer to see these guys perform together again and share that chemistry on stage? hell yeah. as a fan, it'd be mesmerizing. do i think they'd recapture their former creativity? simply put, no; and i feel like axl's need for control and over the GN'R name would make it tough for Slash to ever sign on board for a full tour, which means the best I could ever hope for is a cool one-off gig -- and that might be better and more memorable than a full tour anyway. just one night where they perform some hits again, share a stage, hug, and then go their separate ways and never do it again.

    Exactly this.

One show and that's it. It should be during some big sport event: i.e. the next FIFA World Cup, in Russia, 2018. :headbang:

  15. I haven't figure him out completely yet.

    :shrugs:

Maybe that's because you don't know him. We don't know Axl, Izzy, Duff, etc either (unless you are Marc)

    Yeah, for sure....

Not thinking that I can figure him out as a person because that will never happen (unfortunately) but at least, it'd be cool if I could find out what are his real feelings about GN'R.....

I just watched another interview, from like a week ago, and they asked him about SCOM. This time he says he's proud of it and the legacy of GN'R.... One year ago he said he wasn't very fond of it and that it was the gayest thing ever written... so :shrugs:

At least he had the balls to add "and that gives you a good idea of how credible my opinion is..."

  16. More than a liar, Slash is in my opinion, a contradictory person, sometimes bipolar... Liar is too simple of a label.

Slash is complicated, if you read his book he makes you feel like you are in a rollercoaster of emotions when it comes to Axl. His book is like, one paragraph "Axl is the love of my life, I never met anyone like him before" and the following paragraphs explain how Axl is a monster. A monster you can easily fall in love with, though.

I don't think he lies about those feelings toward Axl, but it's hard to understand where he stands with all that.

And he's not cool anymore... last interviews I've seen of him, his face is like a rock. He doesn't smile anymore, he doesn't joke around anymore. I don't know if it's because he gets nervous or upset with all the reunion questions but he's changed...

I haven't figure him out completely yet.

    :shrugs:

  17. ... so if they want to use the name, it will have to be under Axl's conditions.

    Wrong:

... so if they want to use the name, it will have to be under BETA's conditions.

    No. You're wrong-er.

    :rofl-lol:

i had forgotten how cool that song was!! thank you for bringing it back to my memory

  18. Have you guys ever been in a bad relationship with someone and then broken up? I'm talking about the kind of heartbreak that prompts songs like Estranged. If you have then you'll be able to comprehend why there will be no reunion tours.

Both these guys have moved on with their lives, what has happened has happened. You might forgive but you never forget. Neither of them seem interested in getting back together just like you wouldn't get back into a bad relationship.

Stop holding onto a fantasy that will never eventuate.

I guess it's safe to say that we all have been into that situation and there are many people that go back to previous relationships, even marriages. But it has to be for the right reasons, as Slash would say.

Not interested in a reunion? Let's see:

AXL: "not in this lifetime" (2012)

SLASH: "never say never", "if it is for the right reasons, yeah" (2015)

DUFF: Currently in a honeymoon with his Prince Axl. Reunion, definitely. (Since 2010-Present)

    IZZY: ???

STEVEN: "GNR reunion album would blow Appetite For Destruction away" (2015)

THE REST: hired hands who I'm sure wouldn't refuse or think twice about the big pay checks and final glory that would stem from it.

State of things could change in the following months or years, for good or for bad.

I think 'Never say never' is the most suitable motto at the moment.
