Nice! I would like to still track down Perkins Palace 87, Deer Creek 91, and Chicago 92. The latter two are modern pressings and aren't the complete shows which is a bummer. There are some incredible modern bootleg labels like Casino Records that put out great albums with stellar colored wax and art/packaging. I don't know why they haven't tackled a complete GNR show, yet. The Rox Vox sets are okay for the prices they go for, but the art is sort of tacky and the music is just digitally ripped. Still well- worth having, especially the Tokyo 88 and Argentina 93 sets because those shows are so good.

My favorite modern GNR boot is definitely the Tokyo 92 boxset I got, last year. The sound and presentation are killer, and I would argue it is a must- have for any GNR record collector. My overall favorite GNR records sets has to be the Ritz 91 in the UYI box, though. Fucking awesome.

Yeah, I grabbed the Toyko set and it's great! I grabbed Chicago '92 because I was at that show, but it should've been made into a box set. I also wish they'd do more box sets. Casino makes great stuff, but most sets coming out are the same bands over and over like Kiss, Ghost, etc...but that stuff sells quickly. I'm just surprised that there hasn't been any reunion releases other than the partial Vegas show that was also only one record. There's a guy on Facebook that gets new tons of new boots in every week, but he said there's never any Gn'R other than the '92 Tokyo box.

Cool! Seems you have a copy of “Fun in the Dangerzone”, too. Love it. Need some more old ones

Yeah, it might be my favorite one. There's a guy who does auctions on Whatnot that had quite a few vintage boots, and I grabbed a few that I didn't have. He still has some, but most are shows that I already have on different titles. As we all know, these are hit or miss. I grabbed 'Silver Bullet' last year that was an Italian boot from late '88 and was supposed to be an early '88 show from LA and it was just a remixed version of the Ritz show with some demos thrown in at the end. I should've looked closer at the setlist before I bought it.

A very late response, but I agree. My most wanted would be the complete first Vegas show in a nice gatefold since I was there, but LA 2017 would make an incredible box set. Maybe someone will press them one day. I don’t know why bootleggers haven’t, those shows are perfectly acceptable vocally and GNR is a popular band.

Unrelated to vinyl but I picked up a 6- CD set of both Hollywood Bowl shows since I was at the second one. Even though Axl struggles, the recording quality is excellent.

I saw that on Ebay. I almost pulled the trigger because I was at both shows, but haven't yet because I'm afraid of hearing Axl since he struggled pretty hard for a lot of the shows. I just might grab it since the quality is that good.

Check any of Todd's work and you will see how one-dimensional singer he is. It is a great rock n roll voice but limited, a perfect fit for 'You're Crazy' type of songs where you have to scream loud to get through guitars.

Saying Myles has one tone voice is just ignorant, with obvious lack of knowledge of any of his work.

Btw. When I was 7 I used to write peoples' names with no respect just like you, hitler etc.

You're right about Todd. He is one dimensional, but very good at what he has. He does shows in Vegas with Bruce Kulik, doing just 80s Kiss songs. I'm not a big fan of that era, but he sounds fantastic singing the Paul Stanley stuff in the videos I've seen. Either way, I do agree that Myles is a talented vocalist, but his style just gets tedious to me after a short while. I'd take a live show with Todd as a vocalist over Myles any day.

I got lucky with the AC/DC records. I found 2 out of the 3 Hired Gun ones on eBay for like 70 bucks. I think I’m missing Touch too Much

The box i can’t believe I scored. Got it just last month. I got that, Roses are Rad (80s boot of the 87 Lost Horizon show), and a boot of the OG AfD with yellow vinyl for 200 bucks. That’s a steal to me!

    That's a phenomenal deal!

I am in a lot of bootleg groups on Facebook. Got lucky that someone had the "AXL/DC" box. It is very rare, I have the blue box. It plays a little fast but I will eventually get a turn table with pitch control. Sound and performance are great. It is a better show than the other Axl/DC one I have.

Dr. Love was sold to me by our very own @Powerage5

Pretty sure I have the USA release but it sounds fine to me (I have a garbage system, though). When I eventually upgrade maybe I will track down the Euro press

Very jealous of the Axl/DC box!  I've been looking for that for a while. I have part 1 and 3 of the Belgium show that were sold separately, but can't find part 2. Great job getting the box. I think they only made 180 of them.

So, I've noticed a strong focus shift on the GnR merch store towards tie-dye (and similar design) track suits and hoodies. Do you guys think this is because GnR thinks their entire fanbase are trailer trash?

Just some example of clothes that will definitely make you the flyest motherfucker in the trailer park:

No, it's just typical ineptitude from band management. 95% of merch on that site since '16 has been completely ridiculous.

Yep, I'd agree on that one. I've worked on getting my expectations as low as possible so I'm not surprised!

Yep. But I'm very much in the camp that thinks it was meant to be, based on the quality issue and the rights registration of the two tracks together.

Others think differently of course, and I'm not sure we'll ever find out. I'm also not sure that we'll get an official Monsters release now.

Not getting an official release of Monsters would be a travesty. It's a fantastic tune.

The best concert of the Brian era still is Live at Donington. No other show holds a candle to that one.

I saw them for the first time on the Razors Edge tour, and it was one of the best shows I've ever seen. I've seen them 10 times, and it's easily the best of the 10. The AXL/DC show would be the second beat.

It sounded like he wasn't allowed to be, honestly there might be some shady shit we don't even know going on since the entire reunion started. If Axl himself can't even say something about a song, someone else could possibly be in charge. Maybe the band has really become a business more than we ever thought and they got paid out to reunite, hell what if the Axl/Slash reconcile wasn't even real they are just bound by contract.

Since this originally was only supposed to be two shows, Slash would've been long gone of he was miserable. He left in the mid 90's, and he wouldn't have stuck around this time, either. He has it pretty good. He has free reign to do his solo stuff, movie company, etc all while performing on the biggest stages in the world. Even after the divorce, he'd have enough money to not live a miserable life doing something that he didn't want to do.

Have Hollywood Bowl lithos night 1 & 2 for sale.

If someone is interested please send PM.

PM sent...got skunked on both, even though we were at the gates at 3:45 both days. I've never seen anything like it. Security guards and cops were walking around with them, and the main table was handing night 2 lithos to employees the night before. Evidently, they were letting VIPs buy 5 each and there were next to none left when the gates opened.

    How much for night 1?

I attended night 2 and was lucky enough to get one through the generosity of a big fan. It is crazy how hard they have become to get. In 2016 and 2017, I could easily get them well after doors opened.

Yep, I bought one in Cincinnati, and halfway through the show, our daughter had to go to the bathroom and the stand still had a stack of them.

They don't need that sort of gimmick, they're still making money and playing stadiums. If they were playing theatres then maybe they would act in such a desperate way, but they're not.

Talk of retirement is as ridiculous as it is premature

Agreed, Kiss and Motley Crue had no choice because they couldn't get asses in the seats anymore on their own. Aerosmith is more than likely doing it because they're in their mid-70's and this was going to be it. Guns may not sell every seat in a stadium with high prices, but they can fill the majority of them with acceptable prices. They don't need to throw a farewell tour out there.
