  1. Yes it was. They also moved the opening bands start times up like an hour on the summer leg that year so they can play longer without going over curfew.
  2. They had no opening acts and started early on that leg.
  3. I had a handful of buddies and their wife's over on Saturday to watch the Cubs game from London, and then mirrored the Gn'R show onto the TV. Half of them just know the hits and never cared about much about the band. They mentioned how bad they heard he sounds and looks. We all commented on bad notes and struggles, but we all, them especially, commented on the many times he hit the notes. Reviewers have every right to report on what they saw. Some were extremely negative, and some were very positive. That's how opinion pieces work. By the end of the show, everyone in my basement were impressed and entertained, and didn't understand all the hate and negatively Axl gets at his age. The fact that they were entertained, shows that he's doing his job, and that's a good thing. The same thing happened when I started reading Twitter comments afterwards. There were a ton of people expecting a car wreck, and were shocked by how entertained they were.
  4. Do we have your permission to read the many positive reviews as well?
  5. I can't find the link now, so take it for what it is, but someone on Facebook said the band is working on a live album release with the new songs added on it, as well as the Dodger Stadium bluray. Some people claim the guy has gotten inside info before, but I'll believe it when I see it. It doesn't make sense to throw these songs on a live album like Kiss did in '77.
  6. What happened to Axl's vocals during Civil War? I finally listened to the ep, and he doesn't sing for part of the song.
  7. Should they just say that it's going to be an abbreviated festival set and everyone not there are going to hate it? The post right above yours was from a person at the show who called it an 'amazing experience' and got tears from a song they really wanted to hear. That sounds like a pretty special experience for that person.
  8. The AC/DC tour was 6 years and a lot of shows ago. It's highly doubtful that he can do much better. He's shown that he can hit the notes in spots, but full rasp shows are done. I've seen Gn'R in their various forms 35 times since '91, and will see 3 more in August/September, and never left a show unhappy. The setlist changes and possibly of new songs have me psyched for the shows. The only option is not going to shows, and not following sets anymore. This is what we're going to get from the 61 year old frontman who was never a trained vocalist to begin with.
  9. It's not, and it would be impossible for a 61 year old man to come close to that. However, the renewed energy is great to see, and some of the notes he hit tonight were very impressive. He looked he could've went another hour.
  10. We all know that Slash blows smoke the majority of the time when he does interviews regarding this band, but with Axl's voice being better than it has in a while, and his renewed enthusiasm, he has get him in the studio like he mentioned they might do after this tour. I can't wait to see some of these shows in August/September.
  11. I agree about these bases on these. The bullet logo bases on the previous set were smaller.
  12. Walk All Over You kicks ass! He sounds great on that song.
  13. I did the same thing, but never got a response. I did check the tracking and it's also supposed to be delivered on the 20th.
  14. My daughter and I went to his appearance at the Chicago Music Exchange a few years ago, and he was extremely nice. He stayed later than he supposed to and talked one on one and signed and took pictures with everyone there. He probably talked to my daughter, who was 12 at the time, about the band and how many times she's seen them for at least 10 minutes, and signed and personalized her tour book.
  15. These shows are turning into the 2017 fall tour lengthwise. 33 song sets are ridiculous, especially for guys at their age. Pearl Jam, who was known for marathon shows, has cut their sets back quite a bit, and these guys add to them. I was only going to go to the Chicago show this run, but I'll be adding a few more now.
  16. Someone posted pics from the merch stand in Madrid...looks like those shirts are legit. They just weren't stamped and the tags weren't taken off.
  17. St. Louis has already started dropping prices in the nosebleeds to $30. After the set yesterday, I'll hit up that show once the better seats start dropping.
  18. Hard Skool was on the list for a while before it was played, wasn't it? The fact that Perhaps is on the list should guarantee that it's going to be played eventually, just probably not at the early shows.
  19. Nah, Estranged is a masterpiece. It should be played at every show.
